Very short and right to the point. Happened to drop in during the Strawberry Festival with two toddlers in tow. Our double stroller fit nicely through their door. Very cute store but the staff or possibly it's the owner is very cold and rude to customers both those shopping in the boutique and salon clients. I was looking around the store and when I had asked her a question on items she carried she looked at me as if she couldn't be bothered. Which okay whatever But when I was checking out this sweet elderly lady came in saying she just got her hair done yesterday and the same lady working there was like well it doesn't look good. I was shocked! Fast forward to months later I try and give the store another shot and again a staff member when an elderly couple asked if they can use through the back staff replied coldly you can do whatever you want. I come here for hair cuts and they have the best service and products I am soooo beyond grateful for this gem and that someone gifted me my first facial at 40. I would never think of going anywhere else it feels like family time everytime and the way they engage in your hair needs has been a life saver for my lifeless hair. read more

I wish I could give this boutique more stars! They have some cute clothes, darling accessories and gifts, and I guess they are a salon too. This review is strictly for the boutique side. I was so sad when Liv3 in San Marcos went out of business, and have been on the lookout for cute boutiques that sell unique, moderately-priced clothing/gifts/accessories (Liv3 even had plants!), and stumbled across this little place in the historic downtown Vista area, which is growing and super cute. I have been in now a handful of times and have purchased gifts, clothing, accessories...and while their merchandise is well-selected, their clothing prices could be a little lower based on the brands and what I've paid elsewhere for the same ones. Another issue is the service. The ladies working there could just be nicer. They don't go out of their way to be friendly, help you find things, or even really ask if there's something specific you're looking for. It seems like once I have clothes in hand they'll ask if I want to start a dressing room (which is the bathroom; nothing fancy), but that's the extent of the service. I have overheard them being pretty friendly to their salon clientele, but not as much to their other customers. I have been in with family members, friends, and my son, in various stages of put-togetherness (sometimes in cute clothes and makeup, other times in workout clothes and makeup-free, looking a little grubby), and most of the time I'm ignored until I get to the register or they give the eye to my 7-yr-old son like he might break something. (There was one time I came across a friendly employee who said she has a kid a similar age. That was nice.) The point is, the shop is cute and has so much potential...I love their selection of little dishes, kitchen stuff and knick-knacks for the home, mugs and cards with funny sayings, and adorable jewelry and accessories (I love the Scout and Ink & Alloy brands--the cutest beaded bracelets and earrings!), and they have a decent (if limited) selection of cute, casual SoCal-inspired clothing. Some cute dresses and stuff that is appropriate for work (at least for my teacher life!), and some jeans in the back. But the service needs work. If they'd step up their service and realize they're going stay afloat with the business of their local customers, and the service reflected that it would be much more pleasant to shop there. Side note, I also walked into the plant store down the street and they had the friendliest vibe in there...we did not buy anything but we will in the future! Someone in the back who was busy working on an arrangement asked if we needed help and told us a few tips about the shop (they sell retail, not just flowers). We overheard them helping a family with a funeral arrangement and they were the nicest people. Those are the vibes that will keep the customers coming in! read more

I normally love this shop, I buy a ton of gifts and have recently bought some cute jewelry, dresses and hair product here. I stopped by for the Strawberry Festival and heard them turning away customers from their bathroom. I find that to be very unfortunate. They only want the benefit of the festival to bring business but don't want to offer their bathroom. Sad to see how greedy businesses are nowadays. read more

I went in Friday looking to see if they had any time available for a haircut since I don't have a stylists now being new to the area. Unfortunately they didn't, so I made an appointment for today. I'm so happy I didn't end up looking or going somewhere else. I barely get my haircut, in fact last time I got my hair cut was three years ago and that's because I'm very self-conscious about my appearance, especially after having a baby and gaining over 100lbs during quarantine. My stylist was Sam and she was absolutely amazing and kind and I let her do her thing since I don't know anything about hair. Even though I I told her to do her thing she still checked with me before she did anything to make sure if I wanted something that short or how I part it, and how I like it styled. She absolutely amazing at her job and the nicest person. I will definitely be coming back before three years this time haha. She is amazing I absolutely recommend her. Also, this isn't a hair salon, it's a shop. So they have other amazing items sold there. Jewelry, personal care products, clothes, home decor, and stationery. I love it. It's really nice. When I went in on Friday it was full of middle school/high school since it's right next to a school, so I almost got turned away from it since all the kids were rude, almost pushing me over and just talking obnoxiously. And of course that's not the stores fault, so I'm glad I went back. Im very happy with Sam. Thank you again so much for my new, refreshed hair. read more

My daughter just got a teen acne facial here and it was FANTASTIC. They used superb product on her, Eminence and IS Clinical, and the facialist was sweet and gentle with her. I couldn't have been happier and I could tell my daughter was pleased because she beamed with more confidence afterward with glowing skin. While she was in the room I snapped some pictures of the place, it is also a gift boutique and hair salon. Great selection of candles, pillows, wall art, succulents, clothes, hats, kids items, books and cards and tons more stuff. Price points are good and quality seems great. It also is like unique stuff that you can't find on Amazon Prime. Also it was cool to turn the corner and see they even had a full service hair salon. Super cute vibe all around. Let me preface this post with stating that I love to support small businesses. Today I was in Moonry for like the hundredth time. I bought some items- like I generally do I asked if I could use the restroom so I could pee The answer was no because restroom is reserved for the hair customers It was so awkward and in my opinion rude. I felt very unappreciated as a customer. I could understand if I just came in off the street and it's for paying customers only. I'm sure between all the clothes and hair products I have bought from this store (and clothes I've tried on in the bathroom) that ve spent as much as any hair customer of theirs The teller who I see every time I go there, so I'm sure she'd recognize me too said "I know it's awkward". Yes. Yes it is! But that's ok- you can keep the bathroom and your hair customers and I will shop somewhere else read more

So, my wife and I are locals to Vista and spend a decent amount of time downtown. My wife loves to shop in boutiques and she also loves to shop local when she can. She was very excited when she saw Moonry going up and we made a special trip downtown to see the store when it opened. The selection of stuff was very contemporary, perfect for insta mom or wine o clock posts. That's not the reason for the low review though. The first time my wife and I were in, the lady working the counter seemed friendly enough with other guests in the store, but when my wife approached her she was friendly but terse, as if she didn't want to be bothered. My wife told her specifically how excited she had been about coming in and seeing the store for the first time and the level of engagement with that was adequate but having seen how she interacted with other guests it felt off. My wife tried on a couple things, didn't like the fit (she was pregnant at the time) and we left without getting anything. I'd assumed it was a bad day. The second time, we went during a downtown Vista street fair and stopped in again. My wife saw something she liked and asked if she could try it on. She was told the fitting rooms weren't open because of COVID (even though she'd tried on there before, during COVID. We saw someone coming out of where the dressing rooms are with some items. I can't say for sure but...it looked like she tried something on. We both noted the lack of engagement from the employees on our separate visits. My wife is Latina. I can't say whether that has anything to do with why we received the treatment we did from the two separate women working those days but it's not something that I've had experience with and she's had to deal with before. read more

I am so happy I found my place! I was referred to Emma for skincare. We decided on doing a Hydrafacial with eye and lip perk. I loved how hydrated and clear my skin looked. I received many compliments on how my skin glowed! In addition to the wonderful treatment, I found myself wanting everything in the boutique! Cute store ! I ended up getting a facial here after browsing a few times. Loved the facial room it was very calming, well kept, clean. The facial was nice however the esthetician, Emma, was overtly pushy about selling their products. It's annoying when you just want to relax and enjoy a moment of peace and someone puts on the pushy sales person act.
