Awesome food! I've now tried everything on the menu and I am a fan of it all! Burritos are my favorite!

Burritos are on a different level. Best burrito I've had in the Bay Area. Nice people too. Great vibe with the outside seating too.

Big portions for the money, ingredients tasted fresh and high quality, service was attentive and friendly. Outdoor seating area was a surprising little respite from busy San Pablo. Folks complaining that this isn't "real" Afghan food ... do not seem to grasp the concept of fusion? I hope this place does well! read more

The Hot Shop in Albany is the OG. They started the Afghan burrito over 25 years ago. The Palestinian dude told us they have some sort of partnership with them bc it's the exact same taste / recipe as hot shop. But I like this location. Hot shop is pretty small. Limited seating. Here u got lot in door and outdoor places. It's like no other burrito u have ever had. Definitely try it and maybe go to the OG spot in Albany too to compare. Hot shop is longer. This is a wider burrito. Very filling. Very good. If you go here and don't like it something is wrong with you. read more

I went to Afghan Burrito yesterday with my 96 year old friend and we both loved the chicken enchalida, and it was so huge that we had it for dinner as well. The marinade on the chicken and the secret sauce was over the top. The outdoor setting in beautiful with each table with its own enclosure and plants and the staff were so friendly and helpful. All the packaging is bio-degradable!!! Definitely try this out. See you there since we're coming back regularly. read more

One of the most interesting and unique burritos I've ever tried. I'm always a bit weary of fusion style foods but Afghan Burrito absolutely nails it!! The curry sauce is absolutely to die for and the meat if always so tender and juicy. This place rules!! Unique and tasty food in a gorgeous setting. Mission style burritos with this insane yellow sauce (idk how to describe it but it's this sweet creamy spiced sauce that's packed with flavor). Kinda similar to chipotle style massive servings except it's a small business and you can tell the ingredients are super fresh and quality. I bring all my friends here and if I ever bring the bowls anywhere the smell legit draws everyone in. I like the steak bowls! They have this gorgeous seating area with beautiful plants where you can sit in the sunshine. I always bring my dog and they treat him like a king. The employees/owners are all SO NICE and hospitable. Super friendly and go above to make sure you're enjoying yourself and the food. I legit can't say enough positive things I love this place. I was there today and it said breakfast menu coming soon.... YES PLEASE! Might be a fun spot to host some events like a little art fair or a movie night or something once we finish out the rain. This is the place to go...don't know if I'll enjoy a regular burrito ever again. I passed by San Pablo, and was shocked to see a Mexican Afghani fusion burrito sign. I had never heard of this combo! My friend and I order the cajun chicken and tropical burrito both cut in half and created a new experience. THE SAUCESSSS, I can't even begin to explain the deliciousness. First time I didn't have to ask for extra sauce....safe to say they are not stingy with their sauces which i am eternally grateful for lolz Definitely my go-to spot now if I'm ever craving a burrito! read more

Honestly, the best burritos I've ever had. Tasty, fresh and unique -- the flavor is unmatched to any other burritos I've had. My friends and I had the pleasure of trying Afghan Burrito last Saturday. It is located in an industrial type area and you pick up your order at the gate (there is a sign on the gate). I was very impressed with the quality of the food and the quick preparation. The combination of flavors is unique and fuses Afghan spices with Mexican food beautifully. We all ordered steak burritos and steak bowls and shared a plate of loaded nachos topped with chicken. Everything was good but I really loved the nachos! Highly recommend sharing it because it is very large. My only criticism is I wish they added some cilantro to the burrito. I also recommend adding extra meat and a side of extra sauce (so bomb). Overall, it was a delicious experience and can't wait to order again! read more

I'm going to tell everyone I know about this place. From the bright eyed and delightful workers who seem happy to be there, the beautiful and peaceful decor, to the stunningly delicious food- everything about my experience was amazing. Sat outside with my partner and my dog in their romantic and spacious outdoor seating area that was lit with fairy lights wrapped around palm trees and a clear view of the sunset. The non-gendered bathroom was so clean. If you bike here you don't even need to bring a lock- they have a rack that is far from the street entrance. Huge space for kids to run around outside. They also do a great job with the urban landscaping. It's a breath of fresh air. The portions were generous and they have super tasty gluten free options available too- such as their steak burrito bowl. read more

This is the BEST veggie burrito you will ever have. I'm in a food coma now because it is STUFFED with perfectly aromatic rice, melt in your mouth beans, buttery guac, and veggies that will make you sing heartfelt ghazals. Just had our first order from this new neighborhood spot. Super highly recommended. It's in the former Alfonso's creperie, a big mostly open lot now partially filled in with outdoor tables + planters. We had some golden burritos with chicken or steak to take away. A bit on the pricey side, $14 for a steak burrito, but ours were huge and packed with tasty, fresh ingredients - the marinated meat was particularly flavorful. Came with sides of 2 sauces, both tasty - one standard sweet chili sauce a la Thai bbq, one house-made pink spicy garlic sauce that was AWESOME. Proprietor Moe (sp?) came out for a friendly chat about the place and the food while we were waiting for our order - told us about plans for more menu options, indoor dining, music performances, etc. Can't wait! In the meantime, we'll be back for more golden burrito goodness. read more
