Louise was a joy to work with; I went in with vague ideas and a few colors and she truly created the most perfect bouquets/bridal party items. Pricing was right in line with what is typical, and was clearly explained and broken down; I'm sure the pricing would have been lower but we did have a few pricier varieties included in our arrangements. I went in just 3-4 weeks before the wedding, and it was no problem/they took care of everything. After giving me a copy of the detailed quote/item by item description at our initial meeting, there was no pressure to put down a deposit or decide on the spot, which was nice. Affordable Flowers??? I would say they are EXTREMELY overpriced and the service is questionable. I placed an order online on 8/23/20 for a "Deluxe" bouquet, plus a balloon, to be delivered to my wife as a surprise on 8/27/20, which was our 5th wedding anniversary. Total was $93.00, including delivery charge. Well, first, they delivered it on the wrong date (8/26/20). Second, they sent a basic, sickly, looking bouquet with one of the roses damaged. Then, to top it off, they forgot to include the balloon that I purchased. When I called to let them know they screwed up my order and, thus, the surprise for my wife, the lady offered to deliver an additional 1/2 dozen roses and the missing balloon, along with a tepid apology. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years, but will not be using them anymore. I can go to the local supermarket and get a much nicer bouquet for 1/5 the price, no enormous delivery charge, and zero mistakes. read more

I ordered a flower arrangement online from this shop and paid for the "premium" arrangement and as u can see from the pic I posted it is not even close what I ordered! The arrangement they sent lacks everything the arrangement that I purchased online has EVEN the VASE is generic!! I understand that the inventory in the shop may differ from what is available but the quality of the work, the esthetic and quantity of flowers versus green filler should NOT especially since I paid the extra cost for a "premium" arrangement!!!! This business is a scam and should rename themselves "unaffordable flowers". I live in the area and usually get my flowers from Tiffany Florist or Blossoms. Regretfully, I decided to give Affordable Flowers a try today. I walked in to put my own arrangement together, I had even brought my own vase. I've done this at Tiffany's and Blossoms many times and am always pleased with the quality, service and price. I picked an average assortment of flowers, all my stems were around $1.50-$3.50. When I got to the register, I was told my total was $90 something. I was appalled at the high price and was told that it was so high because there was a "Service Fee" for the arrangement and for putting the flowers in a vase. I asked how much this so called service fee was. The lady told me it was about 20% of the total for my flowers. When I told the lady I no longer wanted that and I'd arrange them myself, my total went down to $56. Sounds like more of a 90% service fee. Seems like someone did not know how to do their math or just wanted to rip me off. A few minutes after I got home my flowers were already wilting. This place is a joke and I will never give them my business again. Please take your business to Tiffany Florist or Blossoms right down the street! read more

Is it possible to have a zero star rating? I have only written one other Yelp review, and it was a very positive, appreciative one. This review is not positive...I am detailing it here in hopes of alerting unsuspecting customers to the small but aggravating and still-unresolved issues with Affordable Flowers in Tacoma, WA. The only bouquet I ever ordered from Affordable Flowers (in Aug 2018) was 30% more expensive than I requested and the result was a tiny arrangement of the wrong color (and hue was the most crucial part of my flower order). I let it go because I had ordered the flowers over the phone (living outside of and far from Tacoma) and wanted to give Chris the benefit of the doubt... The flowers were for a terminally ill family member. (The day I made my order, I ensured that my account had been charged for that flower arrangement.) Then, three months later and totally out of the blue, I noticed a $50 charge from Affordable Flowers suddenly show up on my card. (Thank god I'm fastidious about checking my account charges!) When I called to inquire about why the mistaken charge had occurred and to receive a refund, Chris told me that "this has happened before" (her customers being charged for things they didn't order) and something about glitches in "her system." I asked her if she would figure out how to take care of it, to credit my card. She did not express regret or apologize for what had happened; in fact, she acted put out about having to correct the error. Her tone was brusque throughout the call and she kept cutting me off in the middle of sentences. When several days had passed and there was no credit to my account, I called again. Chris said she'd take care of it. More days passed with no credit. I called again. Chris (again, unapologetically, brusquely, interrupting and cutting me off) said there was some "button" she had to push to make the correction and that she would call me back "immediately." After waiting thirty minutes I called back and she said she was "just going to call" and had successfully finished making the correction that would credit the money (that never should've been taken from me) back to my account. A day later I received an email from PayPal saying that they had tried to process the credit for me but that Chris' bank "declined payment." I called Chris again (five times for her error?). She did not answer the phone so I left a message notifying her of PayPal's email about her bank's nonpayment. In all of my communications with Chris I was exceedingly polite, patient, calm, and kind. Weeks have now passed and I have never heard back from Chris, nor did she ever follow through with crediting my card for the $50 she took. I'm a small business owner myself and I cannot imagine ever behaving with such indifference and unwillingness/inability to rectify a payment error. I share all of these details so that other potential customers can see the pattern of inaction toward correcting an error and hopefully be spared the inconvenience, stress, and expense associated with using Affordable Flowers of Tacoma, WA. Rating: strongly do NOT recommend. read more

I highly recommend this florist! Neil was very professional and gracious! Here is my story: We were hosting a dinner party for 25 at the Dearborn Inn last weekend. I wanted to bring floral arrangements in my own vases for the private room to make it more personal (the dinner was to mark the 20th anniversary of my Father's death, but was to be a celebration of his life). On Friday night, I purchased five arrangements of flowers from Affordable Flower's Royal Oak location, but we awoke Saturday morning to drooping nearly dead white Hydrangeas! I quickly called and Neil answered. He instructed me to bring all arrangement to him and he would "make it right". Well he did more than that - he literally recreated all five arrangements, replacing not only the drooping Hydrangeas, but all of the flowers and did not ask me to pay another penny! We were amazed by and so grateful for this! Neil's arrangements were gorgeous and all of our guests really appreciated the beauty they added to our event. One week later, the arrangements are still going strong. I will definitely be returning to the AF Birmingham location and asking for Neil! :) read more
