We needed to replace 6 garage doors at our First Aid Squad Building. I called 4 companies to come out and give me proposals to do the job. Three of them showed up and 2 who were large commercial door companies probably spent a combined 10 minutes at the building and sent ridiculous quotes. David on the other hand spent probably an hour at our building learning our operation and presented me with a well thought out solution for replacing our old doors. I own a home in Short Hills and needed an overhead garage door opener installed in June of 2013. I called multiple service providers and several didn't call me back, or weren't helpful on the phone. Large national stores said that they'd take 2 weeks to get an installer out to see me. When I called Affina, the experience was quite different. David, the owner, explained what I needed to know, and laid out multiple options for me over the phone. He then came out himself to make an assessment of my garage, and offer me final pricing. He was able to come out the same day, which was great. I went with him for a few reasons: 1. He was professional and courteous. He showed up in a well equipped truck, with multiple options for my garage door opener 2. He was very nice and personable, and educated me on my options and which was best from a safety perspective. I really appreciated this because he didn't push only the most expensive option, but rather, the one he thought best suited my needs. 3. He was prompt and efficient, finishing the job quickly, with high quality craftsmanship. I knew there was actually a safety hazard with my garage (the springs weren't up to code), and I didn't say anything to him to see if he'd notice. He noticed right away, and made a suggestion that I fix it immediately. He really cared about the safety of the door as well, which made me feel like I was in good hands. Excuse the lengthy review, but I truly feel that the company should be given every bit of praise that it deserves. After searching for a reliable, well-rated door company to install my new garage door, I decided on contacting and utilizing Affina for the job. I've been burned in the past by employing some companies that have charged me premium prices for poorly done jobs while also having representatives with attitude problems, so I've learned to be in attendance and extremely attentive whenever I need something done these days. I contacted Affina in October 2017 and described my issue over the phone. After some options were discussed, and I I made my appointment to look into my issue. The company approximately 10-15 minutes earlier than I'd scheduled -- a welcomed occurrence since I'm used to service representatives being late! After they created the space that they needed in my garage by carefully moving my personal equipment, It was evident that the David and his teammate were well experienced as they pointed out the issue that was causing my problem. Instead of having it fixed as they could've done, I decided to have a whole new door installed since the one that was in use was there when we purchased the home (and who knows how long it was in use before that). David presented me with a number of choices regarding the doors that I could've selected. After choosing one, they methodically measured the dimensions of the spacing and equipment that was needed to install the new door, and had the job done much more quickly than expected. Fast forward to January 2018 (today, actually). After some heavy snow, I opened my garage door to take out some equipment. After returning the items to the garage, the automated door wouldn't close. I contacted Affina since they did the initial job and described the situation and David arrived at my home within 20 minutes. After looking into the issue, David didn't find anything wrong with the newly installed door or the sensors, so he started looking for other issues. We found some wires that were poorly installed by whoever installed the ORIGINAL door that we had replaced (it looked like I could've done a better job). The wiring was NOT a part of the installation that David had done back in October. David offered to fix the wiring for free and the door works perfectly fine now. Overall, the experience with Affina was a surprisingly pleasureful one -- I expected to run into a headache no matter which company I selected to do the job, but these guys were great! If you ever need a door issue assessed or a brand new door installed, you simply couldn't get any better than Affina. read more

After spending 5600.00, on brand new doors.. the doors consistantly come off the track. The lift Master company claims David the installer , installed the wrong doors for this application. Every time Affina is called to remedy their problem, they want to charge to fix the doors. A slew of unprofessional texts go back and forth, before the issues are even addressed. The texts received from this company are insulting to woman, and you feel scammed everytime !!! Find another company. read more
