David is a dream to work with. He is kind, responsive and reliable. The employees that work with him show up on time and complete the work properly. We have used Reliable Garage Doors & Gates for a while now and if we ever have questions or issues, I know I can call David and he always responds. I had a great experience with Reliable Garage Doors & Gates LLC. From the moment I spoke with David, he was extremely helpful about the process of fixing the broken springs. He clearly explained what to expect and provided a transparent breakdown of the quote for repairing my single panel garage door. The team actually arrived ahead of schedule, walked us through the process, and made sure everything was thoroughly explained before getting started. Once the work was done, they tested the door to ensure it was functioning properly and cleaned up the area. Overall, this was a smooth and professional experience. Great service from start to finish. Copy / Paste Reply to YELP! Everyone wants a 5 Star Review but when a 1 Star Review is revealed; then they want to run to Yelp for removal. Well, to stay in compliance to YELP as assurance that this review will not be removed again! Here's the "experience" to substantiate its 1 Star Review! 1. David was late; in fact 2 hours instead of 25 minutes. 2. He was very condescending because I informed him that I had another garage appointment and he said "well, you can go with them" prior to his arrival 3. The Estimate was a FANTASTIC price; so I was willing to execute. 4. David never followed up; I called him back to move forward in addition to giving him another job towards 2 properties in Bergen County as I'm a General Contractor. 5. When informed him about 1 job in need of repair; he started AGAIN in the condescending TONE "No one is going to do the job for that price"! Well he was wrong because THEY ACTUALLY DID the job! Thus, he became arrogant; so I said "take care"; hung up the phone and blocked his number. (See attached screenshot) 6. Finally, now that I posted the original 1 Star Review; he called 2 days ago (see screenshot) me from an alternate number asking me to remove the review; where I said "No because this was my experience and the public should know how your conducting business, because this is not 5 Stars"! He said "okay, I don't care keep the review". However, NOW he runs to YELP asking for its removal. In closing; these are facts about "Reliable Garage" where David prices are Good but his Customer Service is Horrible. As a License General Contractor; I am EXTREMELY uncomfortable in recommending him to anyone. I rather pay MORE for better service & quality of human beings & respect for women! Hope this Helps Yelp & the Public! read more

Reliable Garage Doors & Gates - Original Contact - David showed up 2 hours late NOT 25 minutes - Garage Door Services Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

Called last Friday afternoon looking to upgrade from 40 year old openers. David, a co-owner, arrived in 30 minutes flat to measure and quote. I had an estimate by text with a link to accept before he left. Over the weekend I decided to renovate the original wooden doors rather than change to steel (it's a 1910 Short Hills carriage house). No problem. New estimate in minutes. His crew arrived at 9:30 today, Wednesday. During the installation, they discovered that the wooden frame surrounding one door had been damaged by termites. They bought wood at Home Depot and completely rebuilt the frame. They were on the job for 12 hours straight to get the project completed. An extremely fair price and an absolutely fantastic Job! Total pros! David was accessible by phone and text at all times. A smart, frictionless, digitally sophisticated operation doing top quality work. Who could ask for more. Bravo! read more

11/10/2025 Another 5 Star review for Reliable Garage Doors & Gates Had an issue with one of my garage doors. Springs and pulley cable snapped. David from Reliable was very efficient and knowledgeable. The work was fast and very clean. Highly recommended for your garage door needs.

When I called and spoke with David, he was informative and understanding. He didn't go into their fees and costs right away the way 2 other nearby places did, but instead listened to my situation and advised on various options to fix the issue and offer a solution. When we did talk pricing, they were competitive and affordable. Also, I needed a new spring and all new opener, but wasn't sure if I needed new cables. He said the team would have on hand and I could decide then. 2 days later Rodrigo and Alejandro arrived. Cordial, pleasant and friendly. They walked me through what they were doing and instructed me on how to setup on the app and whatnot. To say I'm pleased is an understatement as this was a very positive and productive procedure and their prices were very competitive. Highly recommend. read more

David was absolutely amazing from start to finish!! We are renovating our home largely so we have been using a bunch of people from electricians to closets companies to mason and plumbers. While our experience with some of these was good some were really painful. But our experience with David was so painless and pleasant! We received a quote from a vendor previously who dilly dallied and never got to installation phase. After wasting 5 weeks with him we were at our wits end. Our garage had newly been renovated so most companies said they wouldn't work with us because there would be too much back and forth given that the doorway was brand new and everything was from scratch. But David was up for the challenge even though we are quite far from his service area. I told him my sob story and how we desperately needed help and boy he delivered! He was punctual and came for a site visit a day after we spoke, took his time to understand our needs patiently without pushing his agenda. And I mean it, he really took his time and gave us so much good advice. We settled on something in a day and he got to work! He gave our contractor very clear instructions on what to do and within a week our door was up. I couldn't believe how fast and efficient his team was. They were a dream to work with! They explained everything on their way out and took their time to show us how everything works and made sure all our questions were answered. Due to our contractor's fault something went awry in a day and despite the distance David was quick to come back and fix things at his end. Most importantly David's communication was superb. He was available at all times by text or phone and responded so promptly to all my concerns or questions. We waited a couple months to write this review as life got in the way. And in that time, whenever we had a doubt he would pick up the phone and call immediately to alleviate our concerns. What great pre and post sales customer service!! If you haven't already, please CALL HIM!!! His prices are reasonable, and he does his job very well! The install was beautifully and neatly done and he is just a great guy! read more

We called Daniel from Yelp, the screening process for yelp was great. Daniel showed up on time, was patient, thoughtful and went extra mile in assessing what is needed to fix our garage door. Gave reasonable quote, did an excellent job. Would definitely hire again. read more

Reliable Garage make for an excellent service provider. David is very personable and service oriented, making himself easily reachable at all times regarding the work at hand and appointment timeliness. Additionally, he is very clear about the work-order specifying details about parts to be used, warranty info, labor guarantees and any additional topics that are relevant to the task. In my particular case (broken torsion spring, 18x7ft door), he was up-front about the high potential that my custom sized garage torsion springs would very likely require special order (but same day from manufacturer) and a return trip at another date. That was fine for me, and probably par for the course with any company to not having inventory on-hand. David always called or texted in advance of his arrival so I didn't have to do any guessing on when to be home. He explained the work while executing, educating me on how to maintain the garage door's performance and how to check for cable wear. Overall, i would not hesitate to recommend Reliable Garage Doors to anyone in need of work. David is a soft spoken, professional with over 15 years of garage work experience and watching him in action seems to prove the point. Thanks again! read more

I found a Reliable Garage Doors & Gates through Yelp and they will be my go to for all these needs going forward. David was responsive, friendly, thorough and had the customer need top of mind. I had both my garage doors fail on two separate occasions and had a great experience with David both times. He provided alternatives when there were supply issues out of his control and made it a priority to show up the next day to address the issue. Throughout the experience he gave me advice and guidance in how to care for issues on my own when needed to avoid unnecessary costs and was honest in his advice when I considered specific replacements, again customer being the priority. I look forward to working with David going forward and anyone reading this should consider the same! read more
