I called Doors Done Right for a garage door repair. Clear pricing, professional work, and fast service. Brandon arrived on time, explained the issue, and cleaned up before leaving. Door operating better than new. I would definitely recommend this business. read more

The spring on our elderly pull up garage door broke. The wheels also fell off the track. After carefully researching online reviews on Yelp for local garage door repair companies, we reached out to Doors Done Right. The repair was scheduled two days later. Technician Scott B. showed up early in a well-stocked work van, and quickly got to work. Scott B. was proficient, professional, and personable. 40 minutes later, the garage door was gliding with ease. The price paid was fair for the quality of the work rendered. We look forward to having Doors Done Right Back to install an automatic garage door opener. I highly recommend this company! read more

Very Satisfied with the work Done. Bought a new lift master opener. Brandon was Knowledgeable and did excellent work. We ran into some bumps in the road due to a previous installation and a small door opening and more. He went the extra mile to resolve the issues and make me happy at a reasonable price. He did not try to upsell me with things I didn't need, Kudos to Leslie the office manager as well. Ted read more

Happy with the repair to my garage. The company responded quickly to my request, I was on the schedule for the next day, and they showed up within the time frame promised. I had to call remotely for my parents to help fix their garage door. I found Doors Done Right on Yelp and Google and picked them as they had great reviews (4.8). The owner was super responsive (and picked up after hours) and got it scheduled to be on their "fix list" the following morning (within 12 hours!). So appreciative of Scott for high prioritizing and fixing this first thing in the morning - he was honest and trustworthy and fixed it right away! Great customer service, communication and would definitely use them again. read more

Very Satisfied with the recent repair work on my garage doors. Scott arrived as scheduled and detailed the work needed to be done. Fixed a loose pull chain and replaced a damaged lift cable on one door. Also replaced the bottom rubber on same door. On second door, replaced both springs and changed safety cable. Scott then adjusted the timing of both doors (up/down) and programmed remotes. Cost was very reasonable. Again, very satisfied with the service and will recommend highly. read more

Made an appointment for evaluation. Got my estimate and then an installation date promptly. Price was competitive and was actually least expensive than 3 other companies. They were on time and keep me informed. The installer was extremely knowledgeable and professional, I could not have asked for a better installation. Very happy I chose DDR. read more

Brandon is the best. I had purchased my own door and materials, but was out of my depth once I ran into an issue with the old tracks in concrete. Brandon came, assessed the situation, gave me honest advice about what needed to be done and what materials I should/shouldn't use. The price agreed upon was very reasonable. I left all the products he needed where we agreed upon and he got the job done in one day. I'm glad I listened to him and went with the garage opener he suggested as I've found I'm using the garage way more than I previously thought I would. It's been 8 months and we've had no problems with the garage door; everything works smoothly. I highly recommend him and would not hesitate to reach out again for any other door projects. read more

We had a spring and a pulley break on one of our garage doors unexpectedly. Within a day Scott, service technician, arrived at our door at the specified time. He was very knowledgeable, explained what needed to be done to fix the problem and looked at our other garage door to make sure that we were in good shape. Great job. read more

I hate to give this type of review but feel it must be said. About two weeks after the installers came to put in a new garage door opener the door wouldn't close. It would get stuck at a certain point. I had to use the emergency release. I cleaned the wheels and gave the metal a spray with garage door spray and it worked again. Now two weeks later I can't close the garage doors. I have to use the emergency release again. I have called the installer's phone number, both of the Doors Done Right phone numbers, and have left messages on all three. I can't seem to get through to any of the numbers which is disconcerting. read more

Very professional. I appreciated being able to get basic pricing information all just over the phone/online (I had a general sense of what we needed from other estimates I'd gotten). We replaced a single car garage door as well as the door opener. There were a few other businesses I spoke to that quoted a few hundred dollars less (a couple that quoted a few hundred dollars more, including Costco's vendor), but I had more confidence in Doors Done Right thanks to the information available on their website and the reviews here. Reached out over Yelp initially, spoke to owner Scott on the phone a couple times. He did not try to upsell me to the most expensive/highest level of insulation doors. Then employee Scott came to do a site visit to confirm the initial estimate and take a deposit (check only). Employee Scott came back a couple weeks later right around the middle of the two-hour window we were given and completed the work in about 4 hours. Everything was very neat and clean and we're so glad to finally have a working garage door with a very quiet opener! read more

Scott came with Scott and did an amazing job! I had some broken panels when I called Scott asked me to send some pictures to check whats the issue instead of charging for coming in and checking the damage, which most of the other companies do. He gave a fair estimate using the pictures. Stuck to that cost and recommended changing the springs, as the ones that were currently put in was not for that garage door. Changing the springs made the door well balanced. I was never able to open it manually with old springs, replacing them made the door open with little effort. That was a good assessment and recommendation to replace the spring. Both of them were very professional and did a clean and thorough job. read more

I'd reached out on Yelp and Scott replied right away (over the weekend). He asked that I call the main office on Monday to schedule an appointment, and I was able to get one for the very next day (Tuesday). The installer came at the early part of the 2hr window, and ran through all the details on what he was going to do, and how to operate everything. Installation went perfectly, and I couldn't be happier. The installer that came out, Brandon, was personable and knowledgable; and actually, you could tell he loved what he did, which was refreshing. read more

We've been living with a 1/2 functioning garage door for more than a year because its one of those things I always meant to work on fixing myself. Life somehow always seems to takes over and I never get the chance to do the research online to figure out how to fix our problem. Somehow a late night browsing yelp led me to Doors Done Right, which I was extremely excited to find out was based right in South Brunswick. Equally exciting was the awesome reviews these guys have.... I knew I just had to call to get our garage door problems resolved. An email was sent last night and by 9:00 the next day I had 2 calls from Scott, the owner, looking to tackle the task. I ended up speaking to Scott later in the afternoon and by 3:15 I had one of their company vans in my driveway and Brandon, Scotts business partner, at my door Brandon was extremely knowledgable about what our issues were and answered all of my questions about the process of getting the garage doors fixed. We also discussed how to prevent the same issues from happening again and how to keep our kids safe while they are in the garage. An hour or so after Brandon arrived he had things working properly, actually better than I expected. The garage door went up and down quietly with no more banging springs and squeaky metal rollers. These guys were upfront about their pricing before any work was started and went through a couple of options before doing anything. I hope we don't have any issues with our garage doors, but if we do I know exactly who to call. read more

First off let me start by saying the installer Martin, was awesome , great guy who takes pride in his work. The doors came earlier than expected , and looked as gorgeous as me and wife thought they would. The new doors and two opening units with cameras are much more efficient and quieter than our old equipment. I would highly recommend this company , and we are already getting compliments from neighbors on how beautiful the new doors look. read more

Scott and Edwin came out to repair a 25 year old opener. Not once did they try and upsell anything. They made the repair in less than an hour. While there, I had them replace springs on the other garage door for safety purposes. Great guys. Professional, efficient and had the best prices around. Highly recommended!! read more

Honesty, integrity, and high level of professionalism. I trust them! I had an issue with my garage door. Rather than leading me towards making an appointment for someone to come down and diagnose the problem for a fee, I was asked to describe the issue and then given a link of common issues to troubleshoot and see if any of the steps provided fixed the problem (free of charge and as part of their professional service). I followed the steps provided and solved the problem on my own! This is unheard of in this day and age, but it goes to show that small businesses are alive and well and have not lost their soul! Thank you, Doors Done Right! You have a repeat customer in me if the need every arises in the future! read more

This is an excellent local small business. No problems getting an appointment. Issue was identified and resolved very quickly. As there was some time remaining in the hour service, the tech asked me what else he could do and offered to install and program my garage door keypad, that I ordered from amazon. They have earned a customer for life, due to their professional conduct and customer service. Kudos Follow up. Have used them to replace my second opener. All I can say is....ditto. Wanted to thank Scott, Jhon & Doors Done Right for your time & effort spent on delivering just an awesome product. Couldn't be happier with the new "glass" single car garage door & opener system in both design and function, and then the installation at my home in Wyckoff. Jhon (who did the installation) was excellent on all accounts and left me thoroughly impressed - no exaggeration here. He is certainly one conscientious & capable individual: - Skilled & experienced with high attention to detail: Jhon positioned the opener & opener arm so as to be far to the side & out of the way (given my low ceiling) and so as not to be visible through the new "glass" garage door. I don't have experience with the installation of garage door openers but I can see that this took precision. Wires for the opener were meticulously positioned flush with the wall & ceiling, and out of sight where possible. Everything works smoothly & quietly. - Patient, knowledgeable: Thoroughly answered all of my questions before his work began and then after completion - Jhon clearly knows his stuff. Patiently took me through all operating & maintenance instructions. - Courteous: Gave me a heads-up when he was on his way so I'd know his exact arrival time. Let me know when he needed to leave my house and when he'd be back. - Respectful of my home: Asked if it was OK if he could enter my home when he couldn't exit through the garage due to the installation. - Clean & neat: The just-installed door & opener system were all that remained. My old garage door, tracks, hardware, packaging and all else was taken away. - Pleasure to speak with: Such a personable, engaging individual. Seemed to sincerely enjoy his job and working at DDR. - Proud to work at DDR: Jhon spoke so well of the company & to its values: superior workmanship & service at an honest price. "We want you to call us again when it comes to your garage door needs." And then Jhon goes on to show me how to care for the door & opener system (easy one-time per year maintenance) so I can avoid calling a professional for something that I could easily do myself. Very appreciative, and am honestly at a loss to find any aspect of the project that could have been better. Thank you. MG read more

My garage has very limited space for a regular garage door opener. Scott was very professional providing several solutions and suggested the most suitable one(not the most expensive one) to my situation. Very simply, these guys are great. I had a broken spring on my garage door. They came over, quickly assess the problem, walk me through my options, and then showed up on time to replace the door quickly and efficiently. They were also very competitive on price. With so many companies outsourcing work to contractors, I really like the idea of knowing that the people I call are the same ones who will show up and fix the problem rather than send a crew that they might replace the next day or the next week if they can find one that works for $10 cheaper. Great experience all the way around. read more

Brandon came out and did a fantastic job. In less than an hour he had diagnosed the problem with our door that was not closing, replaced four springs on two doors, fixed a bent track (which I apparently had for years), and told me what parts to order to fix out a shorted light socket in one of the door openers. Also, Scott was very flexible with working around my schedule for an appointment , and they arrived on time within the specified window. Brandon was scheduled to arrive between 9-11, and even called me at 10 to apologize for being "late". Fantastic service, highly recommended! read more

The garage door of my rehab project wasn't opening properly. After some research, I came across Doors Done Right and decided to make an appointment. Scott answered and said he could come as soon as that day. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly he could have come but since I didn't live at the house, i asked whether he could come another day. Scott was very flexible with his scheduling and we agreed on a time frame. On the day of the appointment, Scott was punctual and immediately assessed the problem. He presented me with "good", "better", and "best" options along with how each increment was better. I felt he was honest and didn't try to upsell anything or feel any pressure to go with a particular option. Deciding on the "good" option, he worked quickly to get it working within an hour. I was so pleased with Scott's work the first time, I called him again to take a look at the garage door opener system at my home. The pulley cables on my garage door had snapped which rendered the door inoperable. On the day of the appointment, he again quickly assessed the problem and gave affordable options. Besides installing the replacement parts, he did made adjustments and improvements to my door system such that the door no longer makes a racket when in operation! I had not realized how quiet my door could be and was extremely pleased that he made the adjustments so the door operates properly without my having to ask him. Scott is a consummate professional at what he does. His knowledge and experience shows through as he goes about his work. He is quick and pays great attention to detail. His rates are very reasonable. I would not hesitate to use Doors Done Right for all my garage door needs in the future. read more

I'm actually sad that I can't give Scott more business. If I needed to fix garage doors every month, I'd go to him for all of it. But he ensures his work so ironically, I don't think I will get to hire him again for a long time to come. 1. Customer Service: He is exactly what I look for when I work with people. Timely: First he came right in the window of time he allocated to me. After he inspected my garage door, it looked like he would need more time to fix it, so I saw him call and update the customer after me to let them know of this. I overheard him give them the choice of if they still wanted him to come or not. I really like that he's so mindful of other people's time. Oh and the window of time given to me was 2 hours. That's great. I'm used to companies giving you a 5-6 hour window and then still coming late. You won't have to deal with that with Scott. You can still have your day to do things and not be stuck at home all day. He is honest and upfront: Communicating with him was easy. He was very informative and took time to outline all costs in detail. No hidden fees lol. He gave me multiple options to choose from and never pressured me. He is kind and respectful: I like and appreciate this most of all. You can't buy this and I appreciate it every time I encounter it. I love positive, good vibes lol especially when you are paying for something. Also, for women - I'm a girl and although I don't live alone, it happened that I was home alone when he came for the services. It didn't occur to me till I was talking to someone else that I shouldn't have been alone because, hey you never know. But Scott was completely professional and not at all shady. 2. Quality of service/product: You can tell that he knows what he is talking about and tries to explain it to you so you can understand it too. That's the best measure of expertise in my experience. He informed me that he uses top quality equipment and all of the items will be on the invoice for me to check out to make sure they are top notch. He ensures his work for 2 years as well. He said though, I shouldn't need any fixing for much longer than that. Also, he saw other things outside of the quoted work that could be improved on and he did it for me, free of charge. That's just exceptional service right there. He's honestly trying to help you and not just make money off of you. 3. Pricing: From what I have researched and looked up, his pricing is more than fair. It is probably the best costs you will find, for quality work. Some places will quote you double the cost of his and more. If you need to fix your garage, choose Scott. You won't regret it. Or try someone else, regret it and then choose Scott. lol read more

Bottom Line Up Front: If you have any issues with your garage door, don't hesitate to book with Scott at Doors Done Right. You won't regret it, promise! :) I called Scott the week of Thanksgiving because of an issue my parents were having with their garage door. The door would no longer move when we pressed any of the remotes or wall pad. I told him the issue we were experiencing and he had me try a few things to determine what could possibly be the issue. He provided several different solutions and gave estimates on how much it would potentially cost depending on the alternative. He gave me a 2 hour window for Saturday on when to expect him. He called to let me know that he would be arriving closer to the end of the two hour window or a little bit late because his job in the morning required additional work than anticipated. Scott arrived maybe 10-15 minutes after the original time window, but I appreciated that he called to let me know he was running late. Before he entered my parents' home, he asked if we would like him to remove his shoes. I thought this was so courteous of him to ask before entering instead of just assuming that he could wear his shoes inside our home. Scott inspected the garage door, tracks, wall pad, etc. He then gave us options on how to fix the issue (replace gear track, replace entire unit, etc.). I like how he gave us several options instead of trying to upsell us on having the whole system replaced. We did end up choosing to replace our old system (it was 20+ years old), and he gave us options for what kind of unit we wanted as well. After he installed the unit, it was louder than normal. He tried to tweak a few things and it was still not to what he considered normal. He ended up switching the unit he just installed with a new one which definitely was less noisy than the first. I appreciate that he was honest about the noise level not being normal and took the time to remove the unit he just installed with another one. Instead of trying to just leave it "as is" and make us live with the noise (honestly, we probably wouldn't have even noticed since our old one was pretty noisy) and avoid having to spend additional time at our home on a Saturday night, he was honest and took the time to make it right to his standards. Scott was awesome and we highly recommend him to anyone needing work on their garage doors! read more
