My 85-year old mother went out to her 2-car garage and heard a beeping noise coming from one of the garage door units. She then found that the other side wouldn't open, and neither the key nor the keypad would work. After a couple of attempts, the garage door opened and she called Precision Garage Door Service, as she had used them some years ago. A tech named Tyler came out to assess the situation, determined the noise was caused by an expired backup battery, and presented her with 3 options labeled "Best," "Better" and "Good" on his pad ranging from almost $2k on the low end to over $4k on the high end. He also offered a 'band-aid' option to replace the backup battery. My mother called me to come over and speak to him about the options and pricing. After listening to his description of the issues - worn out springs, lack of safety cables, sensor issues, etc., I though the quotes were high since most of the mechanical components (doors, guide tracks, brackets, etc.) looked like they were in very good condition. He later said the quote was only to replace the motor and electronics. After consideration, I thought the best course of action would be to get at least one or two more quotes from other companies. Tyler then accused me of not caring about my mother's well-being and went on to describe the horrors that could befall my mother's person and property if the situation was not addressed immediately. That's when things went south. I became irate at the accusation and told him I didn't think the threat was so immediate that we could not get other estimates, and he asked me 'how long I had been working on garage doors.' He again launched into a description of what could happen if the springs let go - damage to vehicles, walls, or people and I reiterated my desire to get other quotes. He then told us he would need to charge a $70 service fee "even if he didn't replace anything." Between the fear of imminent damage and the prospect of throwing out money, my mother capitulated. I am appalled by the attitude and scare tactics employed by Tyler, as well as his response when I told him I wanted to get other quotes. But I don't imagine he came up with this strategy on his own and can only assume that's what Precision teaches their techs to do in order to make a sale. Stay away from this company and their reps, especially if you have elderly parents / grandparents. Their actions, represented by their tech, were truly reprehensible. read more

I recently purchased new garage doors from Precision Doors. I specifically requested Tammy as my sales representative, and on her very first selection, she found me the perfect doors -- exactly what I wanted. I couldn't be happier with the product itself. However, I was disappointed with the communication and the initial installation. After the doors were installed, I noticed holes in my ceiling and wires running up the wall and across the ceiling, which looked very unprofessional. When I reached out to Tammy about the issue, I did not feel my concerns were addressed appropriately. Thankfully, I was able to speak with Antonio, the Manager. From the very beginning, he listened carefully to my concerns, explained all of my options clearly, and truly went above and beyond to resolve the situation. Not only did he arrange for the wires to be rerouted through the attic, but he also personally came to my home to oversee the job and ensure it was completed to my satisfaction. She was very helpful and insightful; however, everything she suggested verbally was NOT reflected on the Estimate, such as correcting the structure. He patiently explained the differences in choosing a new one. I also asked him about the springs, and other items essential for the opener. At no time did he pressure or try to sell me on anything; it was all my choice, and my repeated questions that led me to my decisions. I'm very happy with everything that was done. He even used a metal detector to ensure there were no nails or screws still on the floor. Started with two new garage doors in 2015. Ordered hunter green to match the accents on the house. The technician took out the old doors and went to install the new ones. They were white not hunter green. I said you have the wrong color. I called the home office and told them the problem. I had no choice but to go with what they had sent me because my old garage doors were taken down and they would have to leave me without garage doors! They took a hundred dollars of the price for their mistake. I had to have a repair done in 2023 because one of their assist springs broke. No warranty. Now here in 2025 the same door is difficult to lift and three times as heavy as it should be. My original doors lasted 30 years with no issues. Very disappointed in the quality of the product they sell. Called today to see if there is any warranty for the work they did 2 years ago. I was told there was only a 30 day warranty on the hardware. I will have to go elsewhere for the repair I guess. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! After scheduling an appointment, calling four times to confirm time technician will be there - "sorry, he'll call you when he can." I never received a callback - just "it will be a 4 hour window" speaking to the same person over and over. When I called back close to the 4 hour window ending, "oh, you canceled."
