I walked into Vertigo earlier today because my daughter's bangs had just been butchered by the person who has done a great job on my hair for years. My daughter specifically asked for "V bangs" and my person said they could do it after seeing a photo of the look I sent them days ago. The end result was awful and my daughter was devastated. She starts school on Monday and was sick at the thought of the first day. I paid for the cut plus a small tip to save face and left. Vertigo was the second salon I walked into and Ivan immediately greeted me even though he was washing a client's hair. I told him what had just happened and all but begged for his help. He asked if my daughter was with me so I grabbed her from the car and Ivan seemed genuinely shocked at the poor quality. He asked if we could come back at 4pm so we did. I now see that he closes at 3pm on Saturdays so this was an absolute courtesy. He fixed them as best he could and made my daughter feel 10x better about starting school. Ivan gave her his card and told her to come back in 3 weeks and he'd fix them again. When I tried to pay he refused payment and said he just wanted to help. WOW! Ivan is an absolute angel and now has 2 new loyal clients. I will recommend him to anyone just based off of this initial interaction and am already looking forward to my first visit with him.

I had a 3 year business relationship/friendship with Jonathan the owner now for over 3 years. My first experience with overprocessed hair loss was with his stylist named Chris who works on the weekends. He was new to Vertigo leaving his previous salon and bringing me with him. After Chris destroyed my hair and refused a $200 refund himself, Johnathan offered to correct my hair to compensate. Weve been recovering my hair these past few years. Until this Feb I noticed some loss, but I continued trusting him. Then in April I returned. I was shocked when he was walking me to rinse in thd sink he stated (while processing the lightener for my hair) " lets not leave it on that long this time". Which I hadnt even been told thats what happened "last time" in Feb. Now here I was in April when he said that. I was devastated when I discovered HOW MUCH hair was lost over a holiday attending an event, I attempted to style my hair and I noticed the breakage with small pieces sticking out all around my scalp that had been broke off and lost from Feb and now April. There was absolutely no communication whatsoever from Jonathan and I couldn't understand why. Why couldnt he either say hey "I think this is a bad idea",or "I want you to know there was significant hair loss, I apologize heres your money back and if you wish we can come up with a repair plan". I would have jumped at the chance valuing his honesty and genuine remorse, in a heartbeat. Instead Ive been forced to discover this by myself on the night of an event. Its horrible to endure this by the hands and person you trusted. Ive sent multiple messages to him just asking for a refund attempting to move on even without any explanation, apology, or accountability. The first damage in Feb was $200, and again in April $200, but Ive been willing to take half. He refuses to respond to me or my Zelle requests which tells me hes blocked me or is just hoping Ill go away. Its ironic that Chris brought me to Vertigo and damaged my hair, and he also refused me a $200 dollar refund. Now Ive left Vertigo with half the hair I had, and refused a $200 refund again. Im posting this so that others do not have to suffer the experience the same as I did. And that the awareness of this may be spoken for and heard.
