Predatory and manipulative! Kayla who claims to be the manager lied from the very first call to get out vehicle released saying there was a police hold which coming from the police department there never was one period. She went on to claim the vehicle was a theft recovery making it seem it wasn't available to be released. After many calls and jumping through hoops to get it released she tells my girlfriend and I once released from the police all we would need is to call and regardless the time they could have someone meet us at the yard to pick up the vehicle which was another lie. We had the police dept email them which we confirmed they received the email only for them to tell us sorry you'll have to call on Monday during regular business hours and that they were directed by management (Kayla) not to release our 4 runner. On Monday Kayla still claims there was a police hold on the vehicle but that now it is past the 30 day mark even tho we were there to pick it up before our 30 days was up. Now she claims the vehicle is no longer there and no longer available to be released. They made up story after story to steal our vehicle from us. Thank God I have a great legal team that protects our assets against predatory bullies like AE towing and people like Kayla who have no business working in a customer service position. Hopefully AE towing fires that one and saves themselves tens of thousands in legal fees and returns our vehicle and our sons ashes because this one is very personal. I'm very concerned with the quality of driving of the employees. Not only was a driver tailing my vehicle and speeding, but then flashed its flood lights almost causing an accident as I (a passenger in my vehicle) tried to get the license number. I found that the business ethics of this company are horrific, grossly lacking in customer service and honesty even to the point of being predatory. I became involved when my grandson (I am his custodial parent) called me and said that he took a corner too wide, hit the curb and severely bent his front passenger wheel making the car inoperable. I advised him to call Triple A, but when they couldn't arrive for an hour, so a Eugene police officer called AE Collision and Towing who is also a Triple A contractor. Since a police officer called for the tow this then became what is known as a "police tow" and AE Towing is bound by the Trade Service Contract they have with the Eugene Police Department, a contract which they ignored resulting in an overcharge to me of $265.00. Specifically, they would only take CASH for the payment blaming the Eugene Police Department (EPD) on four occasions for not allowing them to take a credit card. This is not true. They would not allow my grandson to retrieve his prescription medicine from the vehicle even though I pleaded with manager, Mr. Etchison, and told them how important his medication was. The first night of storage is contractually FREE but they charged $45.00. The entire tow from start to finish took less than an hour according to their document, but they charged an EXTRA LABOR hour for at $135.00 per hour. They charged $30.00 for clean up which is included in the prescribed rate of $175 for the tow unless there are NEEDLES OR BODY FLUIDS AND ARE ASKED BY THE CITY to clean up. There were no needles or body fluids There were also two days of extra storage which I believe was their fault by not forgiving the first night storage fee and the other contract violations which ran the total bill up to $520.00. I contacted The manager of AE , Anthony Etchison, for a refund, showing them the contract they had with the EPD and asked for a refund of the charges that were in violation. Needless to say, I have not had a response. I would not advise doing business with this company under any circumstances. read more

When I went to the impound to retrieve my car, I asked when and who called the company to come get my car. The woman said "our company drives around and looks for cars without parking permits". While there are currently no Oregon laws to prevent this, there are some soon to be implemented. This company also overcharges for their services. On the front of their office, as well as inside, there are signs stating towing service fees with the price. My total for two days was $590. When comparing what was written on my receipt and the prices listed on site, I realized I was overcharged by at least $150. Be aware when getting your car from this site. I had a run in with one of your drivers last night that ensured if I'm ever in need of a tow truck I'll call anybody but your business. At the accident on Delta Highway last night your driver that was responding pulled up beside me with his flood lights on (blinding me), didn't turn on his blinker then yelled at me because I didn't realize he wanted to merge into my lane. I let him over once he yelled at me and pulled up next to him when he stopped further ahead and told him it would have been nice if he had at least turned on his blinker. His reply to this was "get off your fucking phone". Thanks douche, I wasn't on my phone. I was considering calling the business to report this but figured it would be a waste of time. I rarely write reviews but AE Towing really helped me out. I was involved in a car accident and Tony came to tow my car. I was in a hurry to catch a plane, so Tony graciously gave me a ride back to where I was staying. Somehow I managed to leave my wallet in the car, but didn't realize it at the time. I was frantic and I convinced him to search the car, he found the wallet and he sent it to me within an hour of finding it. And he wouldn't accept a penny for his extra effort! I hope I never have to have a car towed or repaired again in Eugene--but if I do, I will ONLY use AE Collision and Towing. read more

There should be a zero star option. The fifty year old man on the phone threatened me (a young stranded college girl left in the rain) that he was going to charge me an "asshole fee". Then proceeded to make me cry. He then also hung up on me. And when I went to finally pick up my car and pay the 350.00$ fee that I didn't have, he wasn't there and made me wait outside alone in the slums of Eugene for thirty minutes. After trying to politely leave notes on people's cars to stop parking in my assigned spot at my apartment complex I got fed up when a car that clearly belonged to a resident (who knows about the assigned parking rules) parked in my spot for the 10th time and stayed for hours and hours. I called this tow place because that's who the apartment complex employees told me to call. They were incredibly fast, all I had to do was provide proof that it was my assigned spot and the beefy tow driver got the car out of the spot in about 3 minutes and drove away. Overall it was a good experience, fast and simple. It is unfortunate that, just like other tow companies, they charge all those ridiculous fees as another writer mentioned. I've been on that side of it before and it sucks. Hopefully this company decides to rise above the sterotypes of towing companies and operates fairly and remembers to treat people they way they would want to be treated, especially if it was their cars were to be unexpectedly towed. read more

Regarding their tow company, A&E Towing. Posting for a friend of mine. They tried to tow his car today. After they hooked it up before they towed it the driver said he would release it for $120. After I loaned him $120 to give the driver he said wanted $340. I called the office for him to discuss the situation. The manager, Josh, said it was now $340 because my friend pushed him. I was there and no one pushed the driver. I invited the manager to come watch the security video showing his driver lied. When I asked Josh if he would honor the quote of $120 (for 5 minutes work). He said it was up to the driver. I suggested that as the manager he reevaluate his driver's decision because he had already lied. Josh hung up on me. read more

I was towed in the middle of the night on the mountain just south of Eugene Oregon. The driver showed up just a half hour from my call he was professional helpful and extremely knowledgeable he obviously has been doing this for many years. He took every precaution to make sure there would be no damage to my car from the tow and that it was safe. The drivers name was Vic. I had a insurance agency for 31 years and I dealt with many tow companies and many tow drivers and in my Professional opinion Vic is one of the very best out there. this company doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating i would give it a 0 star if i could. i called this company last night since they towed my car after i was parked for an hour. crystal answered the phone and sounded half asleep, was irrationally rude to me and made me pay $590 because they towed my car after their hours were over. we were charged an "after hours fee" and an "after hours impound fee" even though they towed my car when it says that they are closed. they also made me pay in exact cash which is very weird and when i went to the building it was a broken down building with no entrance inside. we had to wait outside for crystal to come let us in and when she did she was rude once again. crystal wasn't wearing a mask, and the "office" that she pulled us into smelled like the inside of a pet smart. not only that but when she brought us out our car she was driving MY car while on her phone and didn't even bother to drive it outside of the lot. i wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy and i only wish the worst for this place. read more

After spending four hours in Market of Choice having a morning work session with some colleagues, I found that my car was towed. Despite being at the business in question (and an empty parking lot), I was still towed, because I stepped off the property to go get a friend and show her where we were at. In today walkable communities its not uncommon. However, they refuse to listen and call everything an excuse for an illegal act. They are patrolling/security cameras and watch your every move off the premise, but not back on. When I called to explain my case, they refused to listen and lumped me in with all the Matthew Knight arena folks that park illegally for events. In fact they charged me $50 storage fee for 2 hours of storage, after hours towing fee, after hours pick-up fee, and a gate fee. It felt wrong to double up on someone on more than one fee. Since when is 1:14 pm on Sat. after hours. Furthermore, they complicated things by saying I could only pay in cash. I had to find a ride out there, and could not use my debit card to get $400 out of the atm. (most banks don't allow that, its a security measure). No banks were open on Sat., so I had to borrow money from a friend to get the cash. No compassion, no understanding, no integrity, no humanity. The total for one tow was $390. This business should call themselves triple dip towing. They take all they can get. Very disappointed and wish towing had more regulations. As a manager of an apartment complex we use AE towing to patrol our garage. They have solved all of our parking issues! They are extremely professional and have gone above and beyond multiple times for us. They patrol very frequently and and have great communication- checking in periodically to make sure everything is going OK. They have inquired multiple times with questions, rather than just assuming which I really appreciate. They even came to the rescue when a potentially violent resident was flipping out! We brought our teenage daughter and her friend to the Bruno Mars Concert at the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, OR for her birthday from Portland. Prior to the concert we decided to park across the street and feed the girls at Subway. Once the girls were done eating my wife and I decided to walk the teenage girls across the street to the concert to make sure that they got in safely. My wife and I planned on leaving the area once they were in the concert and go out to dinner and spend some time together. About 20 minutes later since we left Subway, AE Towing had our car connected to the tow truck. With a full Subway drink in hand and receipts to show that we were just in subway 20 minutes earlier they would not disconnect the car! When we tried to explain the situation and that we were doing the right thing to make sure our teenage daughter and her friend were in safely and that we were on our way to leave the property the driver did not care and that I left the premise! I'm talking maybe 50 yards away! He said he needed $120 cash or he was going to take the vehicle! He was a Very rude person and unwilling to listen! After everything was said and done it cost us over $300 IN CASH! They will only take CASH!!!Total SCAM!!!! I hope the IRS is aware of this!! read more
