There's a good-sized parking lot. Given that it was a beautiful day, it wasn't that crowded. The beach is isolated enough that you'll often see seals in the area. Locals know to give them plenty of space. For the adventurous tourist who may find this beach, make sure to keep a clear distance if you encounter one. It's one of the cleanest, quietest beach near kapolei. That is not common to come by! Prior entering to the beach, you do have to drive to Kapalina Beach Homes (beach side apartment rentals) and go through security. Once you let security know you're heading to the beach, they'll grab a pic of your insurance car and license plate. I have had no issues entering this cute village. The beach is so spacious, you'll for sure find an area where you could be far from others. There were chairs and umbrellas that are set up for anyone's use. If you're feeling snacky, the D'lish at the beach is a great bar/grill that is reasonably priced. I've seen family have big patty's in the pavilion. Also have seen people use the multiple grills around the beach entrance. My favorite perk of the beach is that it's dog friendly! What a gem of a place to discover.

What's the name of this beach??? Kapilina Beach? Because it's located in the Kapilina Beach Home…read morecommunity? Iroquois Beach? Because it's located in Iroquois Point in Ewa Beach? In any case, this is not a beach that you happen to find as you explore the island. You have to WANT to come here and can be a PAIN to get to. First, it's located at the furthest end of Ewa Beach - a 40 minute drive from downtown Honolulu. Second, while it is technically a public beach, it is only accessible via a guarded/gated community (Kapilina Beach Homes), which means you need to show your driver's license, car registration and insurance at the security gate. Third, the area is patrolled by military police (as it is government land) who are not shy about pulling you over if you are not strictly following the road rules. Anyway, your best bet is to befriend someone who lives here. Then you can park close to the beach (versus visitor parking) and can have access to the other beach amenities (cabanas, beach chairs, umbrellas, bbq grills, etc.) The beach itself is quiet and uncrowded. Great view of the airport and Pearl Harbor so you can watch the planes come and go. The sand quality is pretty coarse - definitely not the best. Certain areas are dog friendly (on leash). Other areas allow fishing. Check out the D'lish snack bar for food, drink and live music (in the evenings). Pretty much a private beach for those living in the community and a hidden gem for the rest of the island.

My husband brought me to this beach back in the day when our girls were young. Its kid friendly for sure, lots of families come with their youngsters and stay for a couple hours and go. Lots of retired couples come here as well. We used to be able to rent kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. I don't know when they stopped doing it, but that was fun. Sometimes there's a lifeguard on duty, but not all the time. What I love watching are the planes taking off. It gets really busy watching them line up and take off, sometimes the military cargo planes and jets take off too. I usually know when its time to leave without looking at a watch because the mainland flights start leaving around 1p or so. There are 2 showers in the bathroom and its usually clean and never have to wait for them. Vending machines are outside the bathrooms or you can barbecue and picnic. Sometimes when the rest of the island is experiencing rain showers and clouds, this is the only beach where I can count on to be sunny

They were all wonderful, making sure everyone was comfortable and safe. It really does make a difference for those on the tour when the crew gets along and ensures everything runs smoothly. Snorkeling gear, fins, and life vests were provided and were all in great shape. My husband and I have snorkeled before, but there were others in the group who were first timers. The crew made sure to provide them with additional assistance to make sure they were comfortable with the gear while swimming. Ella was our main guide for this tour. She was extremely knowledgeable about different fish and provided our large group with many fun turtle facts. I'd highly recommend this group to go snorkeling with, especially if it's your first time going on a tour!
