    Like a Corona Beer commercial

Although I live in Ewa Beach, there aren't many beaches I like going to in my hood. Too many homeless or sketch factor, especially lurking in the restrooms which are usually gross. So we often go to Kapalina Beach cuz it's private I suppose...well you must show ID and have a legit car to gain entry to the former base. That keeps alot of scrubs out. If you're lucky you aren't restricted to parking way at the end in the shitty part closer to the airport. However, I didn't see any enforcement. We hung out near the snack bar which sells wicked mixed drinks, food and sweets. There was a 2 man band playing Saturday afternoon. Swimming is great in the more desireslable lagoons the more west you go. Hang out under the thatched umbrella on the lounge chairs. Looks like a corona beer commercial, seriously.

Empty parking lots that we are not allowed to use.

We used to come to this beach a few years back but seems like they are getting strict with the rules. The gate guard wouldn't allow us to enter with a paper drivers license so we had to switch drivers with someone in the car with a plastic license. Also, many other visitors entered while we were waiting for the gate guard to "approve" our entry. After we parked, the security guard stalked us and asked us to make sure we parked in the right stall. We parked a few stalls over and she asked us to move our car. At that point we said forget it and left and went to another beach. They have succeeded in making it extremely difficult to enter this beach. Even though it is a public beach and there is no one there, we were treated poorly by the guard and wont be coming back.

#9 of 2018 Formerly Pu'uloa Beach, formerly Iroquois Point Beach To get in, you will need to present yourself to the guard at the gate. You'll be asked for your intentions. Let them know you are going to the beach. You'll need to show license and registration. Some times they ask for insurance card. Have that ready just in case. When they hand you the pass they'll let you know where you can go and park. Sunsets and sunrises are okay here. It is nice to sit here, and read, listening to the breaking of the waves as the sun goes down and the evening cools. Your not allowed to use the amenities except for the restrooms. I will sit in my own chair in the shade of those amenities. So nice to read a book in the evening.. It can get noisy from the commercial and military planes flying in and out. Some of you may find that nice to take pictures of. The sand pebbles are hard on your feet. In the water, it's even worse but they're not too sharp. However, you may want to use aqua shoes or some kind of foot wear for protection. Snorkeling here is not bad. You can see some fish around the jetties but be careful as the water can get rough in these areas. In fact the wave action here is strong. If you go past the jetties, there is a strong, sometimes, swift current there. That could be the reason why they put those jetties in. There's always seems to be dogs here. Fun to watch going into the water chasing whatever item was thrown out. If you do have a Military ID, you can visit the PX for quick shopping for items like charcoal, sun screen, snacks, drinks, etc. In case you forget something. Else, you'll have to stop by in Ewa Beach. You can also fill up on gas there too. Get directions at the gate. So, if you're looking for a quiet beach, just want to get away from the hustle and bustle, some place nice to walk then this is the spot. Just don't tell anyone else. lol

I wanted to try a new beach in the area so we decided to come here since we live in Ewa. At the gate, you got to let them.know you are going to the beach. You will need to show ID, registration, and insurance. They will GI you a pass and assign you a stall number. You gotta go all the way down Iroquois... Like ALL THE WAY DOWN, to find the visitor parking. It was a little irritating because we we're passing all the parking areas for residents and on Sunday at 1230 during summer, a peak beach day, there were tons of stalls open. We kept driving into what looked like strictly residential area until we found the guess parking. Parked in the stall and walked all the way back towards the beach. The first beach access had a lot of people with fishing poles so we entered the second one, Ekahi cove. The chairs and cabanas are reserved for residents only... Another thing that is irritating as there was literally only 2 other people at the beach and 11 of these cabanas in our immediate area. Further down to the right there was a volleyball area (I'm assuming for residents only) and a restroom (public). It's a pretty beach. You can watch the planes land and the subs come into the harbor here. The sand here is junk. It's very course and littered with broken coral, shells, and other bottom of the ocean debris. Going into the water, it's even worse. I thought it was going to be sand bottom.but it's bug pieces of coral and reef, the hubs got cut on some of it so bring your water shoes if you are planning on going in. The waves break pretty hard here and the current can get pretty strong. The farther you go, the stronger it gets so PLEASE be careful and cautious especially if you are not a strong swimmer. There is NO LIFEGUARD here. They have small jetties that you are not supposed to walk on but I saw a few doing it . Looks dangerous though. Also, there is a faint sewage smell here. Not sure where it comes from, but you can definitely tell thst it's not ocean smell. Comes in waves though... I'm irritated that this place isn't very friendly to people who don't love on this place with big signs everywhere saying you better be prepared to show resident ID to sit in this damn chair. I dunno... Maybe you're braver than I and will chance using the chairs and shade if there are a lot open. Just please remember to be respectful to "our guests" (of Hawaii). Despite my frustration I would have liked to come back here since there was barely anyone here during normal.leak beach times but the waves are too big for our 4 year old and the sand was just to rough. But I think we are going to stick with paying for parking at Koolina.

It's one of the cleanest, quietest beach near kapolei. That is not common to come by! Prior entering to the beach, you do have to drive to Kapalina Beach Homes (beach side apartment rentals) and go through security. Once you let security know you're heading to the beach, they'll grab a pic of your insurance car and license plate. I have had no issues entering this cute village. The beach is so spacious, you'll for sure find an area where you could be far from others. There were chairs and umbrellas that are set up for anyone's use. If you're feeling snacky, the D'lish at the beach is a great bar/grill that is reasonably priced. I've seen family have big patty's in the pavilion. Also have seen people use the multiple grills around the beach entrance. My favorite perk of the beach is that it's dog friendly! What a gem of a place to discover.
