The waters were really pretty and the waves weren't so big when we were there. Absolutely gorgeous. Peaceful spot, good areas to walk around as well. Would come back here to enjoy it more when I can.

It's not one…read moreof the famous beaches, like Waikiki or Kailua, or even one of the resorts like Aulani or Turtle Bay, so not as crowded. FPO and I went on a Friday afternoon. There's a good-sized parking lot. Given that it was a beautiful day, it wasn't that crowded. The beach is isolated enough that you'll often see seals in the area. Locals know to give them plenty of space. For the adventurous tourist who may find this beach, make sure to keep a clear distance if you encounter one. They like swimming in the small surf and dozing on the sand.

There are also restrooms available, although I didn't get the chance to check the cleanliness or overall condition. The area feels very peaceful and relaxing, with lots of benches perfectly placed to enjoy the view of the water. I especially loved coming here early at 6 am in the morning to watch the sunrise and see the surfers out catching waves!

Located a few minute's drive past Ko Olina, across from the Hawaiian Electric Kahe Point Power Plant (hence the "Electric Beach or E-Beach" nicknames), and before Tracks surf site, E-Beach is a relatively shallow and newbie friendly dive site. Lots of dive shops and instructors use E-Beach as part of their scuba training. It gets busy and crowded with a mix of beach goers, snorkelers, swimmers, free divers, and scuba divers. E-Beach has a great mix of big critters and macro creatures. Hawaiian Monk Seals, Manta Rays, Honus, and Dolphins mixed with nudibranches, sea slugs, and mantis shrimps! Repeat and recommend!

I was honestly just driving around the island with no set plans and happened to stumble into this…read morespot. Finding a beach with actually decent free parking right off the highway can be a pain out here, but Nānākuli Beach Park made it super easy to just pull over and touch grass. The beach itself is really nice and wide, but the coolest part is definitely exploring the surrounding spots. If you walk around a bit, there are a lot of hidden rocky areas, tide pools, and cool vantage points to check out that most people probably just drive right past. It can get a little busy with locals hanging out and camping, but it gives it a genuine, non-touristy feel. Definitely worth pulling over if you're doing an island cruise and want to explore somewhere a little less manicured!

You get closer and the water is blue and...white? White because of all the people soup...and sun screen...you go to walk into the water and there's little debris and tiny pieces of trash in the small waves washing up to shore. My daughter put her snorkel on and went in. She couldn't see a thing! And I couldn't see her!! She was 4 feet from shore and when she went in with her bright neon bathing suit (for safety visibility reasons) SHE DISAPPEARED - that's how murky the water is. I was so grossed out when I tried to wade into the water we immediately left.

This is our favorite lagoon. The water is so clear you can see the bottom even as you get deeper…read more(the deepest probably only goes 5-6 ft). We have seen seals a few times and see fish in the deeper area every time (sometimes in the shallow too). It's clean, has bathrooms, sometimes the shave ice is open. It is busy though so plan to wait for parking unless you are willing to pay for the paid parking area.

Pros: Stunning geography, with sandy shallow turquoise…read morewaters and waves that break about 100 yards out. Picturesque lighthouse. Two rinse areas. Restrooms. Cons: The grass and parking lot between the sand and street badly need garbage pickup. Unused shopping cart in the grassy area. A homeless issue. The restrooms are disgusting and heavily vandalized. No soap in the sinks, no towels. I would not bring a woman here or bring my family. For the life of me, I'm baffled why a state park system can't keep up with clean restrooms, given all the hotel taxes, rental taxes, and airport taxes charged to visitors needing basic facilities as a matter of survival. Not everybody can or wants to stay at the Four Seasons (which is terrific). There isn't a job at a resort for every local resident. Ordinary people need to use restrooms and clean themselves afterwards. If the City of Paris can provide terrific self-cleaning portable facilities, with far more inhabitants, then the state of Hawaii can do it, too. Don't give us that BS that "it's not in the budget." I don't mind paying five dollars or something to use the bathrooms or for a pass. The National Park System does a vastly better job.

Be…read morecareful of the waves on the windier days and watch the kids closely - one family lost their huge pool floaty (which I highly recommend NOT to bring with you here). There's not a lot of shade, which is why most people bring their umbrellas and tents. There's water located conveniently near the bathrooms, so you can wash your feet/legs. Clean bathrooms and showers, and it was easy for me to wash my babies and dress them - bonus points! Many people put up tents or umbrellas, play music, etc. - positive vibes only!
