Parking is tough here as the only official parking lot is small. Thankfully we were staying close by and was able to walk here. Prior to walking over from the Marriott I did my homework on social media regarding the route. Many said the lagoon was nestled between Disney Aulani and the Four Seasons. Wrong. It's actually between the Lanikuhonua Institute and Paradise Cove Luau. We were walking along the public promenade adjacent to the public access lagoons. Came to a dead end by the Four Seasons resort property. I asked a stranger was he looking for the Secret Beach. It turned out he's a local. He gave me very good directions. That's how we found the Secret Beach. Once we were there we saw two Hawaiian monk seals beached. With a sign posted - keep 10 foot distance. As for turtles I spotted one in the lagoon swimming. It didn't come ashore. This was about 10:30am. There were plenty of folks in the water. So maybe we were the only ones who were challenged in locating the beach. If it weren't for the seals I thought the beach wasn't as enticing as the the area by the resorts. This is a very small footprint. Here there's no public restrooms. And for trash receptacles there are three heavy duty plastic trash bags taped to the the metal chain fence near the beach entrance. Interested in going? If you're on foot coming from the Marriott - walk on Ali'i Nui Dr past the Aulani entrance driveway and the four way street signal lights. Keep walking on the main drag until you see a small parking lot on the left. Make a left and head up to the parking lot. Walk toward Paradise Cove Luau. You'll see a very small entrance. Walk through the entrance and voila. You've arrived.

CON: Once rinsing off the kiddos from the sand, have to travel back through sand to get to car. For an adult no biggie, for the kiddos, it makes it a bit more difficult to wipe back off. Overall, whether weekend or weekday, there's always room to post on the sand.

Located a few minute's drive past Ko Olina, across from the Hawaiian Electric Kahe Point Power Plant (hence the "Electric Beach or E-Beach" nicknames), and before Tracks surf site, E-Beach is a relatively shallow and newbie friendly dive site. Lots of dive shops and instructors use E-Beach as part of their scuba training. It gets busy and crowded with a mix of beach goers, snorkelers, swimmers, free divers, and scuba divers. E-Beach has a great mix of big critters and macro creatures. Hawaiian Monk Seals, Manta Rays, Honus, and Dolphins mixed with nudibranches, sea slugs, and mantis shrimps! Repeat and recommend!

Fantastic beach for the little ones…read more The beach area felt incredibly clean and safe. The area is by all the nice resorts (like Disney) and golf course so it's a little farther away from Waikiki. To get in, there's a parking entrance. You can either stick to the right and I believe that's free parking. Alternatively, you can go straight and do paid parking. It's all day parking for $22. We opted for this option since it was quicker and we didn't wanna wait in line. The lagoon area itself has a locally grassy area. For a beach it has very clean restrooms. The beach itself is pretty small, but the water is very shallow and tame. Our baby who is 13 months old had a fantastic time. Highly recommend it will be coming back to this beach with our child in the future.

This is our favorite lagoon. The water is so clear you can see the bottom even as you get deeper…read more(the deepest probably only goes 5-6 ft). We have seen seals a few times and see fish in the deeper area every time (sometimes in the shallow too). It's clean, has bathrooms, sometimes the shave ice is open. It is busy though so plan to wait for parking unless you are willing to pay for the paid parking area.

Once you get through it, it's beautiful and stunning. This time around I didn't get in the water to judge coral, sand, and clarity, but the view in and of itself was stunning. You can walk a few minutes down towards Waianae where you can see the beach front of Germaine's up until you get to the lighthouse which makes for a beautiful walk. There is plenty of picnic tables, however, the grass in the center was shredded leaving a large area of red dirt. Be cautious with the clothes you may be wearing as to not stain it.

There's not a lot of shade, which is why most people bring their umbrellas and tents. There's water located conveniently near the bathrooms, so you can wash your feet/legs. Clean bathrooms and showers, and it was easy for me to wash my babies and dress them - bonus points! Many people put up tents or umbrellas, play music, etc. - positive vibes only!

Mermaid Caves is almost a secret place hidden in the middle of nowhere, right in front of a private…read moreproperty. I did the research before I go and even my friend who live in Hawaii never come to this cave. You have to find the entrance that is not noticeable. Luckily my friends and I met some local and they point it out for us. The hole to get down is very small and when I got there the water had coming up if you get there in the morning it should be better, and we can go deeper to the cave but in the afternoon, it is too dangerous to deal with the wave. Even that inside the cave is very beautiful with reflection of the sun and water to the ceiling of the cave. WARNING! you shouldn't go alone. It must be group of friends to go together for a safety purpose unless you can't clam up and someone can help you. Since I try to visit a site of nature, it is something need to be considered, some place and be dangerous and must have company to go with.
