I had a pleasant conversation while she filled out my info, and she gave clear instructions on what I needed to do. I found the store to be clean and organized and it was easy to find the truck parked in the back lot. The truck was also in good condition when I left with it. After waiting 5 hours for road side assistance to arrive I was given a tow to my final destination. This location initially tried to give me $20 back for all of this. I explained that I would have to touch base with an attorney before going forward with anything and was immediately kicked out. Later I received an email stating that half of my purchase was refunded, something like $170 of $300. I was broken down for 5 hours and these guys seriously were only willing to give me half of my total charge back. I am now in the process of working with corporate to figure something out. The entire situation was a nightmare.

I was put in kind of a bind when I signed a lease at a new apartment in the middle of the month and needed somewhere to store my belongings for two weeks. I've never used storage before, yet always see this right off the highway and was initially interested in just the location alone. I called extra storage to inquire about any specials or deals they may have had available seeing as I really only needed the unit for two weeks. Everyone I spoke with was professional and straight forward. I lucked out and received some sort of deal where I got my month for free and only had to pay for insurance and taxes of the unit. UMMM ayyy yay. Yes, at first I thought there was a catch where I would have to be locked in to some sort of contract but no. Before they give you the unit they go through the terms and conditions with you right there before you even sign anything. So from the negative reviews, I am a little confused since everything is written out literally in black and white. They also give you a portal where you can log in and see this information / move out etc. I would highly recommend! Easy location, CLEAN, well lit, and open till 10pm to come in and out! Bravo!

I was forced to give a star. I have been using storage for over 10 years and when the place I LOVED…read moreclosed for renovations I was forced to choose somewhere else. I came here. After three months, they DOUBLED the fee and said it was in the contract they could do so at their own discretion. When I mentioned that my unit was still being advertised at the rate I signed up on they told me "they're allowed to attract new customers". Ok, so this enormous upcharge made at their whim became difficult to keep up with. I was almost a month behind when I called and asked them to remove a $40 late fee and they refused and sent me a letter threatening auction. I complained and wouldn't let up but was ultimately told no. Days later, I received a letter stating they'd be placing another upcharge on the rent of the unit!!!! There's no where to go but to catch up and MOVE OUT!! Terrible experience. Mean people. PLEASE don't put yourself through this.

It's an epic dumpster fire that treats their lower level employees like trash ( no I'm not a disgruntled employee ). The facility has had multiple flooding issues because they have refused to address the sprinkler system and electrical issues involving the sprinkler system. I'm currently moving out of Salem and today my wife and I were doing on last clean out to finish our move. To our surprise we found an epic flood. The sprinkler system had clearly burst and had been doing so for hours. I had to call the fire department to come down to shut the water off to the sprinkler system. I spoke openly with the Salem fire department and they informed me that they have had multiple issues with this and tried to address the situation with the district manager and at the corporate level to no avail. Their concerns fell on deaf ears. The poor assistant manager had to show up in her pajamas to try and address the problem. Meanwhile the useless district manager and the useless general manager sat at home on the phone. This facility has become an epic dumpster fire. They had great management for a while until some genius decided to make unnecessary changes. They over charge for a facility with a rat problem, a clear structural and electrical facility issue. I'm not sure who actually has the ability to make a decision with this location but who ever it is should be fired because they are absolutely incompetent and uncaring of customer support and care. I'm attaching actual photos and hopefully the videos of the issue. Again because they haven't addressed the problem I HAD TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND IF I HADN'T BEEN THERE THE LEAK WOULD STILL BE GOING!!! Also see the oil slick in the water... because someone was allowed to store large quantities of oil in their unit, which is against their so called lease agreement. BRING BACK TYLER!!! I rented a van that sat in my driveway the entire time I had it,…read moreused only to move a few light household items, and somehow they decided to hit me with a $150 "damage deductible" for scratches that would not have been possible for me to do. This U-Haul's entire process is designed to trap honest customers. They rush you through pickup, skip a thorough inspection, then later claim damage once you're gone. It's shady, it's lazy, and it's completely unacceptable for a national company. If you ever rent from this U-Haul, record a full video of the truck before leaving the lot, every dent, scratch, and mark, because they'll gladly make you pay for someone else's mess. This experience was beyond frustrating, it was dishonest and disrespectful.
