My rating for Advantage No One is a big whopping 0 stars, the big goose egg, how about a doughnut for breakfast and a bagel for lunch? Actually negative stars (is that a black hole?) would be more appropriate. Sadly, in order to submit the review, you must select a rating of at least one star.
As potential purchasers of a business franchise, we cancelled the escrow because the Sellers attempted to defraud us by submitting falsified financial statements grossly overstating the profitability, etc. of the business opportunity. We notified Advantage One regarding the situation in November of 2017, and they're still holding our $10,000 earnest money deposit, in an account with no interest accruing (according the them). I finally have some free time to attempt, once again, to help them to DO THEIR JOBS and resolve the situation, and suddenly there is no one in their office, or anywhere else, apparently, on either Monday 4-8-19 or Tuesday 4-9-19, who is able to refer our case to their attorneys for a process known as interpleading, which should have been done in November 2017, because, most unfortunately, there is no more advantageous recourse than to move forward utilizing the legal resources of the escrow company when one of the parties refuses to cancel the escrow; since the Sellers are currently in hiding from the OCSD, who are trying to serve them with the legal documents related to the law suit that we have filed against them in Orange County for felony fraud, it is obvious that they are about as uncooperative and inaccessible as possible, and quite possibly have left the state of California for Texas, as they had previously indicated.
But, apparently, Advantage One was waiting for my husband and I to do their jobs, rather than advocating for, or representing, us, FOR NINETEEN MONTHS. Finally, yesterday, as previously mentioned, I had reached the end of my patience, and they have no one in the office with the authority to refer the case to their lawyers, when it is the only option that we have, and they've already wasted a year and a half!
This company is criminally negligent and incompetent, as well as incapable of fulfilling their fiduciary responsibilities, and their employees, from the receptionist answering the phone (Laura, I had to ask for her name, as she was too unprofessional to state it when she answered the phone), to the escrow officers Marilyn and Kit (Marilyn out of the office until next week, and Kit in the office, but, unfortunately, without the wherewithal, intelligence, or empathy help us), to the nonexistent "managers" Laura Woodbury and Tina ______? (last name not provided, and both out of the office, at the same time, until Wednesday, nice scheduling!), and I do use the term extremely loosely, are lazy, sarcastic, rude, sanctimonious and immature. In the interim, our attorney will be thoroughly investigating their claim that our money is in a non-interest bearing account, as opposed to illegally earning interest for their unethical firm.
