As a real estate agent, I deal with lots of different escrow companies, and I must say hands down Concord Escrow is my favorite and the one I'm going to choose every time if I get the option. Mary Marinko is my favorite officer there, but the whole entire company from the owner to the front desk staff is truly 5-star. I would go so far as to say if the agent on the other side wants to use a different company, I'm going to do my best to get them to give Concord a try because it really is going to make a huge difference in the smoothness of the transaction. Not only do they turn things around quickly, but they are always anticipating every little hiccup and making all the parties aware before the hiccup becomes a full blown issue. A follow up to my original post, further showing disappointment in this company. After my Yelp review I was contacted by phone on 9/28/2020 by the owner, Susan Blanchard. She stated she was very concerned as to my post and wanted to talk further about my experience. She concluded the conversation stating I should expect an apology from Danielle, as that is not how Susan expects customers to be dealt with. This escrow company has been in business for almost two decades. Usually I stray from saying cliches but their service is definitely "you get what you pay for." Although they are not the least expensive, but rather on the higher side, the escrow agent I used is almost always on point. I've dealt with a lot of escrow companies and I found that the escrow officer makes and breaks a company. This is also an escrow company that is NOT part of or owned by a Title Co., Lending Co., or RE brokerage, which is to me very annoying at best and so not a neutral third party in my eyes. (solely my opinion and experience) There are three basic parts to a good escrow officer...first is knowledge. Second is experience, which people say it goes hand in hand but that's not true. I've dealt with many that have a extended track record but no nothing about short sales and REO's. The third is going above and beyond, which may sound simple but it's not. Even if you go the extra mile it won't matter if you don't have the knowledge so it's just wasted time and money on all parties involved. Like many escrow companies this one has a few escrow officers so I don't know or worked with many of them at this office. But the one I've worked with is excellent in her field. She keeps the file on track, while tends to all parties involved making everyone happy, except for the very crazy clients that are never content or happy. Business does not appreciate the value of time. They should be ready to finish a file after funding has occurred. Banks do not fund at the close of business for a reason. This Company declined to even put any effort on completing business (recording). It's like buying a car and being told to come back next week after we call you to get your new key. Just like that.... I would give them a 0 star if that was an option. We bought our house and our lender used concord. They are horrible! They made a lot of mistakes so we overpaid towards our downpayment, and then got a credit towards our principle, which means that we couldn't use our $1200 refund towards our mortgage for the first month. That would've helped a lot since money was tight the first 2 months. We put about $92k for our downpayment, which was almost all of our savings. They made so many mistakes that I ended up reading every single document myself before signing. Never use them again for my future home purchases. Samantha was nice but made a lot of mistakes and her assistant (I forgot her name) was horrible and rude! I've never had such bad customer service.
