We have moved 4 times in the past 10 years and Advantage Movers is by far the best moving company we have ever used. Tom came to our home and walked through it to give us an estimate. (And it ended up costing less) The guys showed up on time, were friendly, extremely fast, detailed, and no damage to anything...not even walls! We have some very large, heavy furniture and I was so impressed they were able to safely maneuver through the halls! They were also extremely fast and organized! I'm always overly skeptical of reviews as theirs no real honest middle ground; everything is a 1 or a 5. But I'm glad I trusted the reviews and can say that Advantage Moving truly earned the 5 stars. 1) Fast response time for estimates and scheduling. 2) Honest pricing. No gimmicky upsells or surprises on moving day. 3) The movers showed up on time, got right down to business, and were very professional. 4) The movers took the time to carefully wrap the delicate items. My baby (60" TV) was wrapped in a heavy-duty blanket, plus cardboard on all three sides, then strapped upright in the trailer to prevent tipping. All other delicate items were also wrapped without question/cost during loading and unloading. Advantage Moving was the only stress-free part of the move. I can't say enough good things about this company. They were timely with returning calls, following up, showing up on time for the day of the move. The two guys who came (I forgot their names!!) were careful with all my things, explained the pricing, which was itemized so they gave me options to move the things I could on my own to save myself some money. For example, rolling up a carpet and moving it would have cost an extra $6 but that was something I felt fine doing myself. It was SO worth it to have people moving the bulky heavy furniture. They didn't waste any time and were at my new place quick too. I gave them a great tip at the end because they deserved it and I would recommend them to all my friends who are in need of movers! read more

This was my third time to hire professional movers, and Advantage did an exceptional job. They moved all my stuff from my packed-to-the-gills PODS unit (at the PODS storage facility outside of town) into my new apartment. The storage unit was a ridiculous mess, but they loaded up the truck with good humor and care for my stuff. At the destination, we had only one working elevator, which was being shared by another tenant moving in, but the guys handled it well. I forget how much the move cost, but the price was reasonable, and they got it done in about as fast as it could have been done. I would recommend them. read more

They had only guaranteed me that I would have 2 movers, but in fact they had a crew of 3 people which made it go even faster. My entire 2 bedroom apartment was moved in less than 2 hours. We sold our home last year and used another mover to get us into an apartment and storage. They were good, but expensive. I called them again this year but the price seemed so high. I called Advantage just three days before I needed to move - they got us onto the schedule and were $600 less expensive (even after I kept adding things to the inventory)! Advantage moved us out of our two bedroom apartment, and helped us clean out a storage unit (including a baby grand piano) on the way to our new home. They were timely, professional and fast! I've used this company a few times now and every experience has been wonderful! They're always on time and get everything moved efficiently and with care. Their rates are really reasonable (I've gotten quotes from several other movers, and always come back to Advantage), and I recommend them to any friends who need movers. I first used Advantage when moving unexpectedly from Waco, and I didn't know what to expect. They almost beat us to Austin, because they got everything packed up and left, and we still had to corral the cats into the car. I think the entire move took less than four hours, and half of that was driving! In a subsequent move, I had a cheap IKEA dresser that broke on the truck. The guys brought all the drawers upstairs, let us empty everything out, took all the drawers back down to the dumpster, and then gave us the cash to replace the dresser and apologized emphatically. I told them I had planned to replace the dresser anyway, so didn't really care that it was broken, but they insisted I keep the money because they broke it. Advantage Moving makes moving so much easier. It's definitely the best in Austin. read more

I've used a few different moving companies in Austin and have had some really good experiences. Unfortunately none of my former movers were available for my latest short notice move. After calling about 8 companies, I got these guys on the phone and for some reason they had availability. These guys were really pretty bad. Mainly their attitude was just awful, walking around all pissed off. Then they came back with a list of a few items that were not on the inventory and all of a sudden they wanted 40% more (or some ridiculous amount). It was stupid. Overall I just did not enjoy having them in my life for the few hours they were around and I'm glad they are gone. If I had to give them one positive I would say they were very hard working and fast, but I would rather have slower, happier people. read more

We hired Advantage Moving for the second time on August 3. We were pleased with the first move a year ago and went with them again for this move. For the second move, it was extremely easy to get set up for the quote and move. We had different movers this time, Jeremy and Matt. These two were fantastic and were every bit as good, if not better, than our last movers. They were on time, very pleasant, and worked very quickly. Nothing was damaged, including walls. I don't think anyone could have beat the price or done a better job. We hope to not be moving again anytime soon, but if we do, we will definitely give Advantage a call. Wow, I can't say enough about Advantage Moving. As you know moving is so stressful, until I met Tom. I called to get a moving quote and didn't have any idea what tell him because I had so much stuff, he immediately offered to come to my home and give me an exact quote that wouldn't get higher the day of the move, and that's exactly what happen. Greg the foreman on the job and his crew came to my home and moved everything I had in record time and handled my furniture with so much care, nothing was even scratched which can usually be expected. By the time I knew it I was in my new home with all the furniture in the right places and Tom was calling me asking how the move went. You can tell these guys have been in business along time they made everything so easy and there prices were better than most. This is the worst moving company I have dealt with . My brand new shoe rack and bed were damaged . Had to throw the shoe rack away and then bed had a large chip , brand new and expensive!! I did not like the way they handled my furniture or communicated with me . They were too rushed . I do not recommend them!! They also left boxes behind . I'm livid!! I wish I could leave zero or negative stars. And the owner only responds to good comments , not bad ones . Pathetic read more

Advantage Moving came to my rescue with just three days notice of my move. The staff could not have been nicer. I was given a time frame of 12-2 and the movers came at 12 on the dot. Moving is stressful enough without having to worry about when help might arrive. They were finished in an hour and a half. I had even forgotten to mention an item or two when scheduling the appointment, but the guys just took it in stride with nary a complaint. After scheduling a move online I received a great quote directly to my email, much cheaper than any other company! So far so good right? Then a man called to confirm the move and the actual amount of items I would have. I decided to change the date from what put on the online application to a date that would work better with my schedule. He confirmed the date and told me to be home and they would show up between 1-3. On the date of the move i waited around from 1- 3. At about 3:15 i figure no one is on their way and give them a call. They scheduled my move for the right day but a week too late, during a time i wouldn't even be in the country. So after a half a day wasted and storage unit money down the drain, i will definitely not be using Advantage Moving!!! read more

We were referred to these guys when our usual movers (Aloha Moving) had a truck break down last minute. They were courteous enough to refer us to another mover who was available and set up the time for us. Advantage Movers called within 10 minutes to confirm booking and details. They sent out two of their movers who were very fun to work with, and were very efficient. They immediately got to work, didn't drag ass, and were totally on top of their game. Our only complaint was that one of the movers sweat all over one of our microfiber chairs (haha) but it's totally fine, we just cleaned it with fabric cleaner. Overall, these guys were FAST and efficient. They were courteous and completely acknowledged that we only wanted movers for 2 hours due to budget, and they worked their asses off to do so and did it in perfect time. We would definitely go with these guys again. I feel bad we don't remember our movers' names, but they were two young guys....Will update if I find out who they were because I highly recommend this team. read more
