Joel and his team at Advantage where genuinely helpful, attentive, and looking to make a valuable customer relationship -- I never felt unease because I never got the sense they were performing their professionalism or kindness. I was purchasing a car for the first time so it was extra scary and stressful. I am so grateful to have met Joel in this process. He followed through with everything he said he would do and more, including giving me what I asked for my trade-in -- most importantly getting me the car I wanted for a price I could afford. From the beginning, he assured me that he would work with my budget, and that proved to be true. He was very patient, allowing me several days to do research and have the car checked by my mechanic before making a decision. Beyond the excellent service Joel provided, he was a calming presence and seemed to really empathize with the vulnerability I felt as a first time buyer. Just a little update. The same car I purchased on May 10th 2022 is the same car I'm still having troubles with right now today May 1st 2023. Engine failure, bad struts, electrical problems etc etc. I've spent so much money in repairs that AUL don't cover it's ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend this place to a dog. If whoever purchase a vehicle from them and have no issues is a blessing. Because this sh** is really ridiculous. They never fixed what they have claimed to fix every time I took my car back to them when I first purchased it. I just stopped going back. They pretty much sold me a lemon. I remember the very last time I took my car to get fixed when the electric problem started, Joel wanted me to pay him what he had to pay the shop to fix it but told me to keep it between us. I never paid him because the issues wasn't mine to begin with. I would NEVER recommend this place NEVER. For a whole year I've been having problems with this car. So I'm pretty much stuck in a contract until it's paid off. But honestly I'm starting to say Fuck this car and they can have it back. But I've been paying my car note faithfully to not mess up my credit with a repo. I hit over 65 or 70 miles a check engine light comes on saying engine failure and it reduces the speed on the car. This is what I mean!!! If Ernie, Saul and the other guy I don't know his name that is in charge of finances, are there to help the people, then help them out. I really hate that when people that have documents, we don't get the help we need. But those that don't have documentation gets the help they need. My cousin in law took me to this place that he said they will help me get a car. They helped him out by inventing his employment, social number and other critical information that the bank approved the loan for $24,000 for a BMW that they help him with a $5,000 down. Me on the other hand that I needed a simple car that cost &$11,000 for a 2011 Nissan central. So they didn't help me. But if I would have come in and say I don't have papers, they would have invented a social number, fake company name with 6 years working there, fake date of birth and more, I will bet I would have come out from that place with a car, just like he helped 4 people I know. All Saul, Ernie and the finances dept who is in charge are breaking the law by identity theft, fraud and falsifying information using other people information. I purchased a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan from Jose at Advantage Auto Sales in Bell on 8/16/17 and I paid for the vehicle in full and I owe them no balance, they did not have the license plates and they needed to get them for me from DMV and they told me they would mail them to me once the had them, it has been over a month now since they received my plates and I contacted them several times and they told me they mailed them out each time I contacted them, the last time I contacted them was 3 days ago and they told me they mailed them out the day before, Tuesday and I should have them by Thursday or Friday, it is only 15 miles from where I live and I have still not yet received my plates, I will never purchase another vehicle from Advantage Auto Sales in Bell, CA and I will be contacting DMV to see if they can get them to send me my plates. I thought it was going to be a stressful experience, but I was wrong! We helped our daughter buy her first car. We had quiet a diffucult time driving to the far ends of the city only to find out the car was sold as we were driving down to the shop (?), or the car we went to see was nothing like that was advertised, or the price was actually 2000$ more. Finally we ended up at Advantage Auto and allof a sudden days of frustration was over. We found not one but two beautifully maintained cars within our budget and with almost best prices in town; the price did not change and the cars were still there when we arrived. All paperwork was taken care of quickly; they even helped our daughter get her first insurance for the best price. This rating is long overdue and I still owe the team some gifts, but I'm sure I was one of many people that they helped get back up on their feet after 2020. I lost my job during the pandemic and I didn't have a license when I walked in. I had finally started working again and was only on the job for 3 weeks, but I went in with my paystubs and my down payment and they were able to get me approved on a vehicle with the exact specs I was looking for! Very excellent service had some issues at first but manage to stick with us and work everything out in the end. Didn't go home with the car the first day we came but a week after came home to Bakersfield in a new beautiful car. Over all they were helpful and made sure we went home happy and they went home happy as well nothing but great service with great people there! I highly recommend this place. The Ford Flex we purchased is in excellent condition and has very low mileage and for the price it was such a deal and yes i did my extensive research on the vehicle before hand.
