Our 60-year old clay tube sewer line developed a couple of offsets under the street causing simultaneous clogs in all toilets. I called several companies for cost estimate for replacing it with new sewer line. I chose Advanced Trenchless because they gave the most detailed and easy-to-understand explanation how they would work although their estimate was not the lowest. Their work crews showed up on time at 8:00am and finished by 4:00pm. They dug up the street and the yard just off the house foundation while preparing about 60-foot long and 4-inch-diameter HDPE pipe. Once the old sewer line's entry point in the yard and the connection point at the mainline in the street were located and opened, they started breaking the old clay pipe line using the so-called trenchless pipe burst technique and insert the 60-foot long HDPE tube slowly. I read about the technique and process of the pipe bursting. Witnessing the actual implementation of the pipe bursting was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It is an amazing technology to install a 60-foot long tube underground without digging up the entire length. The crew seem to be well experienced and have been well trained. They were very efficient, professional, courteous, and well coordinated. After the new sewer line was installed, they refilled the big holes they dug up earlier, compacted, repaved the street and restored the yard to their original states seamlessly. They cleaned up the street and yard where they worked meticulously, and I did not have to do any thing after they left. I am completely satisfied with their work. I have never given any service a 5 star rating, ever. But this company deserves it. I had my sewer line back up twice in two weeks. Rescue Rooter came out both times. First time they used traditional snake and could not clear it. They came back a second time with a "Jetter" high power water hose.(1,100.00)They said it cleared the line. Well guess what? Two days before Thanksgiving it stopped up again. I demanded warranty repair. They came out the day before Thanksgiving, with the "Jetter". They could not clear the line. They put a camera down the line and at 130ft said they saw the terra cotta pipe had collapsed. They wrote up an estimate for digging it up and installing plastic pipe. $18,600.00. Wow! Contacted Advanced Trenchless aka sewerinspection.com via email. Ryan company president replied immediately and called me. He said he would send tech out with 150ft snake and camera. Cameron the tech came out promptly on time. (unlike RR who were always late or couldn't come till next day) He ran out 130 ft of snake and hit blockage. He put camera down the line, saw what he thoungt was a root ball. He ran snake again very skillfully backing it up and trying again and again until he cleared all 150ft of line. Ran camera down a second time all the way to the main CCSD line. Total bill $310.00 Ryan is going to get me an estimate to pull plastic pipe through the whole line. Cameron said I don't need to do this immediately but can budget for it and do it anytime next year. Definitely going to go for the plastic pipe since as it seems we clean this line out every couple of years. read more

We have nothing but great things to say about this company. We had been calling our plumber every 2 months, on average, to fix our backed-up sewer clean-out. After years of this tedious, expensive, and inconvenient routine, we decided to take our trusty plumber's advice and get an upper sewer lateral installed. Since he was not set up to do this type of work, we set out researching other prospects. After applying for Vallejo's Upper Lateral Program and reviewing several recommendations and their estimates, AT survived as the obvious choice: no need to jack-hammer our driveway, no need to dig a trench through our yard (and said roots, risking damaging or killing our lovely old tree) -- besides their timely discovery of a leak in the lower-lateral under the street pavement (i.e., city's bill). Not to mention that Mike regularly attends city meetings related to sewer/water treatment issues, and was very helpful and knowledgeable in that regard -- he helped to navigate and educate us through the city's requirements, regulations, fees, permits, etc., (which AT mostly handled, thankfully). Ryan helped us through the business details and seamlessly set up all the nitty-gritty of the job itself. The workers were respectful, informative, polite -- did a very professional job and a spotless clean-up afterwards. In summary, AT IS as good as it gets: time- and cost-effective, professional, knowledgeable, considerate, and were also very good keeping us "in the loop" communication-wise. These guys are good. A novice in writing reviews, I won't wax poetic here...tho I enjoy a fine course at Gary Danko as well as anyone else, no need to embellish what we're reviewing here. On the sewer repair front, these folks are tops. Mine was a 130 foot pull with a new clean out and street excavation for a 75 year old residence in Walnut Creek (remarkable already is that a clay tile sewer line lasted so long in a hilly and forested Lakewood neighborhood.) I had already done the sewer flushing and video survey, cleared access for the work and received two other bids for the job. CEO Ryan Charles looked over the site, reviewed the video and gave a written proposal that covered the work I wanted (other contractors offered both more and less work, with prices that were still above Ryan's proposal.) The work was done as scheduled, on time and to my satisfaction...Gene led a crew of four, personally secured the connections and came back on Christmas Eve morning to supervise the asphalt repair (with a much more professional result than the EBMUD crews that had recently been working on the street.) A bonus that quietly pleased me on inspection morning were the comments provided to me in confidence by the sanitary district inspector of the quality work that was evident on my project and typical of this company. I actually called Advanced Trenchless to give me a second opinion on a job which another plumber had said I needed--the other plumber said I'd need to replace my sewer pipe to the tune of $10,000 because of its age and condition. He was not able to clean the root balls out and, with El Nino approaching, if I didn't have it done now the pipe would collapse due to the "slippery soil" which would result in an even bigger, more expensive job down the road. Well, it was my lucky day when (1) I found out that AT gives free estimates; (2) I drew Scott as my estimator; (3) he couldn't believe that the other plumber couldn't get the roots out; (4) he assured me he would be able to; and (5) he advised me to just have it cleaned periodically rather than drop $10,000. And this is a company which specializes in trenchless sewers! He also told me that his company would have charged about $6500 for the same job!!! I did call the office to schedule an appointment to have him come out and try his hand at what the other plumber had called impossibly big root balls ("No plumber will be able to take these out!!") and of course he cleaned it out thoroughly, charged less than the first guy, and won my business! He's honest, skilled, and has the right tools for the job, which is a reflection of the company itself. What more could you possibly ask for? read more

Advanced Trenchless came out to give me a free estimate. After running the cameras through my pipes they said I had six-eight weeks before I had major problems and the sewer line would be completely blocked. My wife thought it was a scare tactic to get us to sign up. 6 weeks and 2 days later, my sewer line was completely blocked and started backing up into our house. I called Advanced Trenchless and immediately signed up to have my line replaced. They were booked for two weeks out, however the next business day they sent someone free of charge to clear out my line a little so we could use our toilet. A few days later we started having problems again, they sent someone out again, free of charge, and he spend 6 hours clearing the line again, so we could have working toilets for the week. They came at 9am as scheduled to replace the sewer line. They took care of all the permitting process. I had a brick pathway next to the side of my house which they removed and put back. To make room for the sewer line they cut a whole in 4 of the bricks, they did a beautiful job. They were constantly responsive to all of my questions and concerns. Probably nothing worse than knowing you have to spend a ton of money on a sewer problem. The worst part is the unknown of what to expect and how much it could costs. I called quite a few places and most never answer the phone. Those that do come out say "it could be this or not, we will start here, and then tell you what's next". What!! no thanks! Jennifer answers the phone immediately and is more pleasant than any high end hotel concierge person. She is efficient and so nice to deal with. Ryan shows up on time and says exactly what he thinks it is. Gives us a clear estimate and time frame. When they show up for the work it's clear the army has arrived. Three trucks, busy guys, getting it done, and out the same day as clean as they come. These guys are "the wolf" from Pulp Fiction. If you have to deal with this oh so unpleasant experience of sewer issues at least do yourself a favor and deal with true professionals. read more

I recently purchased an older home and the sewer lateral needed replacing all the way from the home foundation to the city main in the street. These people are amazing. The whole process seemed overwhelming at first and I'm glad I was referred to them as they are true professionals. We received a free inspection of our sewer line and were showed the camera results the same day. Ryan showed us the problems with the line and was very honest, saying that replacement was recommended, but really not 100% necessary now. We received a quote by e-mail that evening as promised. I loved that the inspection was free - no strings attached, and wasn't accompanied by any strong sales tactics. And the coupon offering a discount was represented in the quote, with no surprises, or them trying to up-sell. For various reasons we ended up having AT do the work now, which was painless and done quickly, exactly as scheduled, and at little or no inconvenience to us. (And they did not ask me to rate them on Yelp!) We had other neighbors on our street hire AT as well, who were impressed with their honesty and professionalism. All hard to find these days!! When ever we had people staying at our house we had problems with the sewer backing up. It just got to the point where I couldn't stand it. I had gotten several bids & Advanced Trenchess was right in the middle of all the bids. But what set Advanced Trenchless apart from the other companies is that they followed thru & were easy to get ahold of. I also realized that I had used them in the past, back in 2010.
