I'm sure if I'd said it was urgent they'd have tried to come sooner. They came out a week or so after I called to check things out and give me a quote. That guy, Matt, and the later handyman were friendly and efficient. Then another few weeks till they came out. I got the disposal and they installed it, plus added a plug under the sink and fixed the wall switch. Took an hour or so. This is the only handyman our dogs haven't barked at when they got here, and never did. He said he has dogs, but sometimes ours go nuts no matter what, on just hearing or smelling a stranger. The roof took maybe half an hour. Again, professional and efficient. Prices seem a little high to me, but it's been awhile since I hired anyone so this may be the new normal. And I used to be able to do some of this stuff but can't now, so, I have to pay someone sometimes. Worth it to have it taken care of.

He tested the air quality of my home and did a blower door test. We found some surprising areas that was losing heat and were inefficient. He was helpful in ideas for quick home fixes to making a list of problem areas to focus on. I was pleased with the whole experience. I wouldn't have realized energy audits were a thing until I spoke with a co-worker who recently had one conducted. I am glad I got one done on my home. Since then, in a relatively…read moreshort period of time, I had to call them because of leaks-leaks through the kitchen exhaust fan onto the stove, leaks through the water heater exhaust vent onto the basement floor, leakage/seepage through my chimney bricks, shingles not properly aligned with my gutter-such Of those 4, they only properly corrected two issues The 5th time was prior to July 4th this year when I noticed a place in the ceiling paint that appeared and felt damp. Called them. The person who came on the 1st was nice, went on the roof, said he saw nothing. Looked in the crawl space from a ladder--he didn't go in, and said it was a condensation/venting issue-they installed the roof vent when they installed the roof, and that someone else from the company would follow up. Emailed them on the 13th about the f/u. No response. Called another company. He went up took photos and there was a bullet hole in the shingle. He repaired it immediately. As the 614 inspection was done before the 4th, and I noticed the dampness in the ceiling before the 4th, the hole was likely there on the 1st when he said there was nothing wrong. Even if the roof warranty would not cover that kind of damage, it would have been nice to have received accurate information on the 1st, so that I could have had it repaired. It is probably good that they didn't follow up because I might have ended up spending unnecessary dollars to 'ventilate,' when ventilation was not the source of the problem. Nevertheless, since it is so close to the end of the warranty, I question whether they didn't follow-up because they didn't want to honor the warranty. To me, properly diagnosing and correcting 2 out of 5 issues after installation-4 within the first 3 years of installation, that are directly related to properly sealing the water heater vent pipe, properly installing flashing, installing the appropriate kitchen exhaust vent or properly aligning the edge shingles isn't stellar performance. As I have learned the hard way, there's more to roof installation than nailing on shingles.

Panel Town took this as an insult and the owner called the company we decided to move forward with and strong-arm'd him into using them (panel town) as the supplier of the hardwood. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS SHADY AND CROOKED. After our guy agreed to go through panel town to by the boards, the day we were having our floors ripped out and prepped, Panel Town told us that the boards we had ordered and confirmed were in stock were NO LONGER AVAILABLE... Turns out they didn't even place the order and we confirmed this by calling the manufacturer of the hardwoods and they said that Panel Town hadn't placed an order of that particular boards for 3 months. SO THEY DIDN'T EVEN PLACE OUR ORDER OUT OF SPITE BECAUSE WE DID NOT GO WITH THEM TO BEGIN WITH. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. These people are shady and vindictive. However, if you do decide to go with them do not take their first price. They will always go down on price lower and lower to get your business but they may screw you in the end so NOT WORTH IT.
