We hired Tim with Premier to build our party barn/ wedding barn. It was a 40x60 completely finished interior with shiplap on the walls and ceiling. We are pleased with end result of the project. The quality of their work is top notch. Tim does a good job coordinating things and making sure things run smoothly. The team was very professional, and respectful each and every time we met them on the job site. Of course there are speed bumps in every project, but we are pleased with the final result of the project. We hired Premier Contractors to remodel our kitchen, and bathrooms. We were absolutely blown away by the craftsmanship, and quality that was put forth in our projects. There were multiple material delays completely out of their control, and they still made sure to complete our projects as quickly as possible without shortcutting the quality. Tim Kirk, owner of Premier Contractors Co. LLC of Mt. Vernon, Ohio was hired as the general contractor for a whole home remodel in May 2023. The work went as expected until late August. Tim and his crew started missing workdays on our project. Tim provided varying excuses such as there wasn't enough work to keep his crew busy for a whole day, even though there were still a few dozen tasks left. He sent texts on multiple different days telling us the crew would be out, only to have no one show up. Then he began ignoring our texts and voice messages for days at a time. He abandoned the job in early November and still holds several thousand dollars of materials we paid for in June. When it became clear he would not complete the job we moved into the house without countertops. He refused to give us the name of the company that had done the template, which forced us to call every countertop company in the area until we found the one with our order. We discovered Tim had not made the required down payment, so the company never started the job. We then paid the company for installation. Another major task left incomplete was the installation of a mini split air conditioner/heater for our converted garage. As of this writing we have been unable to find an HVAC company that will complete an install someone else started. We are heating that room with space heaters. Also, a week after our kitchen appliances were installed the owner of the appliance store called and informed us the check Tim wrote had bounced. Tim made the payment later that week. After the trouble started in August, we had several discussions with Tim trying to get updates on when the job would be complete. He refused to give us a straight answer. We believe Tim underbid our job and ran out of money. If he had been honest with us, we could have worked it out and still been happy with our remodel. He chose not to do that. Hired Tim, Premier Contractors, to complete a bedroom addition. Project started Nov 1, with a timeframe of Jan 31, 2024. Its May 27, and addition is still incomplete and cannot even live in it. No HVAC and still missing a window and insulation. We've had to use space heaters to heat the 600sqft space. Project started out fine, had delays in December, blamed incorrect trusses that we waited 3 weeks for. Our last actual meeting with Tim was Feb 14, also the last time we had any faith in him completing work. Slowly the excuses started to pile up and work pretty much stopped in March. Tim could not provide materials we had paid for. When we inquired where the materials were, he would have outlandish stories for each and every one. Our windows had half a dozen stories, and he ended up bringing poorly painted windows, that are chipped and scratch when open with no locks on them. We still are missing a window, that according to him was custom ordered in February. We researched the size and found its not a custom size and could be ordered and delivered within days. Which we offered to do, to get the project moving but were told they had the window. (they didn't) Our vanities, he changed the subcontractor without our approval. According to him, they were completed in March. When we asked why they weren't brought to the house he gave a different excuse each week, "wrong panel, not soft close, they just put sealant on, ect" We asked for the company name so we could get them ourselves he refused to give us any information. Same story for shower glass, windows, HVAC. Our HVAC unit is partially installed, and boxes are opened so now no reputable company will touch it or warranty the work because they started the job even though they aren't licensed or certified to do so. They attempted to hide black mold growing in our crawlspace from us. My husband found it and documented it. They were trying to treat it on their own, when my husband saw it wasn't being done properly, or even up to code, asked about it, and then they confessed it had been there for about a week. After we made it known that we were aware of the mold, magically they were now doing more to treat the issue and bringing in more equipment to treat it. We requested to meet with Tim 6 times. He stood us up every single time. Going as far as texting or confirming our time and not showing. He stopped coming to the jobsite and only sent his two workers who didnt have enough work to do (no materials) so they would waste time and then leave after an hour. When we asked what they were supposed to do for the day they would say "I dont know, Tim told me to come" When we were 70 days over what was supposed to be our finished date, we asked Tim to bring our materials or meet with us that week. He agreed. He never showed. We warned him if he was to fail to show up we would look into other options. We asked for him to provide receipts or POs of the missing items and he said he was collecting it for us, only to never meet us and never provided anything. We had a roofer come out (because roof isn't finished) and he immediately saw several things wrong with the roof and said parts of it weren't up to code. He said it was one of the worst jobs he'd ever seen, and saw that they had screwed boards into the roof so they could work on the roof, instead of using a harness, and we now have roughly 20 screw holes, on 4 separate panels, so close to 80 unnecessary holes on our new roof that are potential leak issues. We also found water leaking into the attic where they didn't finish the vents. Issues we have to hire someone else to come out and fix and pay more money. We came to the conclusion Tim used our money to float his company and buy materials for other jobs and was delaying ours until he had money from the other jobs, to get our materials. the whole steal from Peter to pay Paul situation. We terminated our contract on May 9 on the grounds of breach of contract. We gave him two weeks to provide materials and refunds for materials and labor not provided. He responded on May 15 saying he will do as we asked and deliver materials and refund to our home and address the exposed wire situation at the house. He stopped responding after that day and now his phone is either disconnected or he blocked our calls. We are past the two weeks, with no response from him, and are now looking into the next steps we need to take to collect our materials and get refunded and what legal steps we need to take. read more
