I've been going here for over a decade. Every time I go here, I spend the next several months fixing their billing mistakes from my last visit. Either they are billing me when they should be billing my insurance, or they are misbilling my insurance and I'm getting the nastygrams because of it. Also every time I go here, one of the previous fillings they gave me suddenly needs to be replaced - even if the X-rays don't show it. I figure that's how they drum up business. Some of the staff are friendly, others are somewhat rude...it depends on the day. Dr. Z did a good job and seemed pretty reasonable, but they say he's only doing the big jobs now and some new lady who barely speaks English is doing the other work. She also seems over-zealous in drumming up business, and she has recommended work that Dr. Z already told me I don't need. They do decent dentistry work here and are fairly easy to get an appointment with, but be cautious when it comes to the business end. read more

STAY AWAY! I had a crown done there 2 years ago. It fell off 3 times and I went back to get it recemented AND was charged for it each time. . It just fell off AGAIN as I was eating and broke when I chewed down on it. My insurance will only replace a crown every 5 years. My insurance said to call ADvenced Dental and see if they will work with you. I called to complain and the owner Dr. Z basically said too bad, if you want a new crown you will have to pay for it, AGAIN..Believe the bad reviews here. I called Advanced Dental 5 min. Before they closed on Monday night, the receptionist was so friendly and didn't rush me off the phone AND got me in the next morning to get my chipped tooth fixed, my front VERY visible tooth. (I'm a receptionist so I smile all day at work .)I explained that I was leaving for a trip in a few days and it was important that I get it fixed ASAP. I called 15 offices to try to get in and Advanced is the only office that would help me! I'm very great full. I went to my appt. was checked in, did some new Pt. Paper work and was called into a room within 20 min.- great wait time for a new patient that needed a last min. appointment. Dr. Rice fixed my tooth quickly and very nicely. This is the third time I've had this tooth fixed and she is the ONLY dentist that made my teeth the same length. The first dentist made my tooth really short the second dentist made it visibly longer( both at different practices) When Dr. Rice showed me the mirror I almost cried my two front teeth finally matched again!!! I would recommend Advanced to any of my friends and family. I'm shocked the yelp reviews are so poor. I will update my review after my next appointment for my cleaning and if I have any billing issues. Also, the office really doesn't seem to like cancelling appointments or no shows but no Drs office does. Please be a responsible patient and I don't think you will have any problems. read more

I thought they gave good care, the problem was they don't always have an oral surgeon available which can be a problem if your in pain.

Hygienist took a full set of X-rays (22) on me and did not use a thyroid collar. They have their patient schedule on a large tv screen for all patients to see which can be a HIPPA violation. The hygienist put things in her notes she did not do. The office also requires a $50 deposit to hold any appointment which is absurd. Stay away. read more

I went here as a new patient and arrived 15 minutes early like they asked to fill out paperwork. My apt was for 4 and I was the only one in the waiting room. I didn't go into the exam room for my cleaning until 4:30. I had xrays done then waited for the hygienist for another 25 minutes. The Dentist came in before my cleaning and barely looked at my teeth and xrays. He didn't have the best bedside manner and dismissed my concerns I had about my teeth. The hygienist was very nice and did her job but I would never go back and see the Dentist and put up with the wait again. read more

I would give zero stars if the system permitted. My four children were seen last week. After all children were seen, what I can only assume was a new employee, took 45 minutes to determine my bill. After it was given to me, I paid and went home. 1 hour later, I was called and told they made a mistake on the bill, and clearly not in my favor. I was advised that I was not billed for something that was clearly on my bill. When I challenged it, I was told you have to pay. I asked for the owner of the practice to call me. I literally waited one week for a call that was never returned. One can only assume that he was never given the message or was and did not care about returning my call. Good practice for a medical professional. So, I decided to pay a visit without notice. I arrived at 9 am sharp and asked for him. I was told he does not get in until 10am. Surprisingly, not 5 minutes later, he shows up and I ask if that is Dr. Z and he responds by saying I am. He did not even ask if he could help me. He retreated to his office. Moments later, the Office manager comes out to see me and we have a very circular conversation. After painfully explaining the situation, she insists that I must be held accountable for their mistake in billing and that it was my fault for not questioning why the final bill was less than the estimate. I responded by saying I don't know how your business works, I only know how the automobile business works and that it seems in my profession, I am held to a higher degree of professionalism than the dental profession. It is beyond frustrating that a patient that has been going there for a few years would be treated in this fashion and that an owner of a business and dental practice would cower in his office rather than try and resolve a very unhappy client. End result, I paid the $60 balance, signed a records release and promptly made an appointment for my children to be seen by Dr. Skrobola of Bracesetters. Again, it is very upsetting that they would not side with me and say, "you are right, we apologize, lets move beyond this". They seem to enjoy stepping over dollars to pick up dimes. I have four children, and three of them need braces. Do the math, that is easily $15000-$20000 dollars worth of business that exploded over $60. If you need a dentist and don't care about the dollars, go and see them. But I caution you, seek help elsewhere because they don't care about their patients. You are just a dollar sign to them. Bracesetters actually provides a free consult for orthodontic work unlike the huge amount of money I just flushed down the toilet! Dentist are good. Dental hygienist have all been very professional & nice. Front desk staff & billing are very rude. There are always billing errors (on their behalf) & they're not even apologetic about it. They threaten collections immediately and after finding out it was their error they say "oh we fixed it" like you should be thanking them. Also, you have to track your own cleaning, xrays, etc because they will book you before you're due to return & then you'll be stuck paying for it out of pocket. read more

I have been seeing Lolli for my cleanings for 13 years!! She is always very thorough and professional. Dr. Z has done wonderful crown work on me. I always feel comfortable in his chair and he gives painless needles!! I am amazed at the wonderful treatment I get every time I come and I appreciate them dearly. Dr. Z you are the BEST!!! Negative Stars would be more appropriate. I have religiously attended to my oral health my entire life. NEVER have I experienced such incompetence before in a dental practice. I gave Advanced Dental an honest try for two years, I regret the time I wasted. This group of disconnected and professionally void individuals that comprise Dr's that are occasionally present and have no idea why they are doing what is on their docket but do it anyway. Hygienists who are rude and even aggressive. Green receptionists and an administration that will mistreat you once you come to your senses about how you need better care. Thank God I did not allow them to do the work they pressured me to commit to and got second opinions. They should be ashamed of the disservice. read more

bad customer service, bad dentist. If this man said root canal one more time I was ready to hit him. Went two weeks later for a tooth extraction. Got Dr. Lee. Dr. Lee wanted to save my tooth with root canal. I said no pull it. He got angry. Told me I would be ,"blowing what I drink out my nose as this tooth is in a sinus pocket." He pulled the tooth, dug around in my sinus cavity, did not give me antibiotics or pain meds after. I ended up with a MASSIVE sinus infection. Don't even think he cleaned the hole out before he sewed it closed as right now I have a piece of bone breaking through my gum. I went there because Ihad had good experiences with them in the past. Dental surgeon has since left, and no one bothered to inform me. Left over six years before per staff but name is still on the sign. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Both times I went the dental hygienist was WONDERFUL. Two different woman. But their DENTISTS AND SURGEONS SUCK. read more

I am disappointed with this office, after being a faithful patient for more than 14 years I have been treated horribly. Last June I came in with a complaint of sensitivity in my upper right back teeth, one of the dentists worked on me and the pain got worse, I was brought back in a few times and worked on and it has never gone away. I went in a couple of weeks ago for a cleaning and then they spotted a cavity in the area they missed last year... Great.. well as I was checking out I was berated loudly by the front desk for not paying the bill from last year. I never received the bill and after paying over 200 dollars last June I assumed my insurance had paid the remaining. The front office girls starting embarrassing me and insisting I pay them 500 dollars immediately. Everyone in the waiting room and offices all heard all my personal (divorce information) and financial information. I asked to go speak to someone in private and they said that is not how they did things and they wanted my checking account number to arrange EFT from my account immediately and when I refused it got heated. After 11 months it is too late for me to go back to my insurance and ask why they only paid 150 dollars on the previous charges. So there I was ... embarrassed, still in pain, and the 100 dollars I gave them did not appease them..I walked out vowing to find another dentist.. great customer service guys way to go. read more

I booked my dentist's appointment before reading all of the bad reviews on this site. After I read them, I was really regretting my decision to not do more research before deciding on Advanced Dental. Going in expecting the worst, I was pleasantly surprised. I was brought in within a few minutes of arriving, and I arrived about ten minutes early. There was nearly no wait whatsoever as others have reported. The desk staff were fairly friendly and the dental hygienists were outstanding. They really made me feel good about my teeth which has not always been the case. They did thorough cleaning and gave me advice on caring for me teeth. After I met with the hygienists, the dentist came into review, and together we decided on a plan moving forward. The billing department told me that my insurance covered this appointment and showed me what would be covered on the future work based on my policy. I have a feeling that the issues others have encountered are based on these numbers. I imagine that these numbers might change because that is typical with insurance, and not indicative of a poor business practice as others have implied. I would recommend this dentist to others in the area. read more

Found this office through my husband's insurance. Had an excellent experience making the appointment but it was all down hill from there. Arrived 15 minutes early for my appt as instructed and filled out the paperwork. Waited 45 minutes before being called back. X ray was taken and I was placed in a room. Dr. Lee entered within minutes and asked me when my tooth had been extracted (I was there for a consult for an implant) when I told him the date, he rudely told me that he could not do a consultation until the tooth had been out for 3 months. He offered no explanation of the process and proceeded to insult my General Dentist for referring me too early. As if that was not enough, the Dental Assistant assured me that she would not bill my insurance for the x-ray but she would have to bill them for the consult. Yes, the consult that Dr. Lee said he could not do!!! I have since seen another Oral Surgeon who has been wonderful and has already scheduled the first step of the procedure. Although I have to pay out of pocket and and be reimbursed for the insurance portion, it is 100% worth it not to ever have to deal with Dr. Lee again! read more

Worst medical experience of my entire life. The rudest treatment I've ever had. Dr lee yelled at me and told me he wouldn't take my tooth out because he was going on vacation and it was towards the end of his day. He rushed me out of the office , wouldn't answer any of my questions and he was not even the person who would be doing my surgery. His reason for arguing and being rude were very contradictory - he told me I needed the tooth out and was infuriated I wanted it done that day. I asked a question about the surgery and his only response was that your tooth needs to be removed and that's it. I mean I just asked you to take the tooth out today I'm obvious getting it removed I just want to know what I'm in for . He literally called the nurse in to talk to me because he was so irate - the nurse looked horrified. Finally I just gave up lost $300 , will not be found back there and I have no idea what to do about my tooth. This dentist made me feel helpless and disrespected. I'm disgusted how a medical doctor could see someone so clearly in pain and so desperate for help and Answers and treat them so poorly. Please learn from my mistake !! read more

This place is awful. If I could give it no stars I would. You have a long time to wait even though you have scheduled your appointment. I had to wait half an hour to see the dentist. Also, they have very questionable billing practices. After the lady told me that my insurance would not cover my visit I paid her $125. I figured that would be the end of that bill. No, a month later, I got a bill from them stating that my insurance would not cover the procedure and my insurance states that I need to pay an additional $40. Why submit the paperwork to the insurance company if they already told me that my insurance would not cover it and they already got paid for the service. When I asked Terri in billing at Advance Dental why do I owe an additional $40. If I already paid $125 for the same visit. She told me that this is two separate bills. How is it that they fixed one thing and bill for two different procedures. If you value great service and fair billing. Do not go here. They have fraudulent billing practices. read more
