The whole experience with New Windsor Dental was just great. From the first phone call to the appointment with the endodontist was amazing.

Avoid this place. Was great about 10-15 years ago. Original dentist has moved on and sold out. This office is all about the money, not about service to its patients. They will double bill you, they take forever for appointments, will have you waiting even though your there on time. Sad to see them go down hill over the years. I was a patient since about 2005. I've seen them at their peak, and have unfortunately hung on too long. Have visited a new dentist now, and I couldn't help but question why I waited so long to leave Windsor Dentil. read more

This dental center is a first rate medical facility with all the various dental disciplines located under one roof - a dental smorgesbord. The front desk and dental assistants are incredibly, optimistically cheerful. I've had less than stellar experiences with dentists and their staffs over the years, a scary experience when they're poking sharp objects in your mouth. I asked several of Windsor's workers, "Why is everyone that works here sooo congenial?" Unanimous replies of "I love my job" and "Our boss treats us good. He would give you the shirt off his back." Previously having lived the last 1/2 century in NYC, I've never before today, witnessed this kind of positive job environment in either a medical or dental facility. I saw Dr. Frank Manno today and he made me feel real comfortable and eased my stress with the procedure. He explained everything thoroughly. Next up, it was Dr. Bobbi for my root canal. My last root canal surgery many years ago was an extremely difficult procedure and it was painful. Dr. Bobbi and his assistant surely has a skilled hand. I didn't even feel a pinch while he was working on my teeth. It was over and the root tooth was cleaned out and cap replaced very quickly. The Windsor staff willingly explains procedures and what it would cost me (Want to really save money ... look up Cigna Discount dental plan ... Windsor is one of the only dental clinics I called in New York State that accepts it and believe me, you'll save really big dollars. Natasha, who was my first contact at Windsor, after weeks of calling up dentists in a hundred mile radius and seeing if they would take the discount program, she was the first one to explain everything thoroughly, including all costs. When you get Natasha on the phone, she's like having a good friend that works there. Thanks Natasha. I recently saw two dentists, one after the other. I had an old cap removed off an infected tooth and the next doctor I saw, did a root canal. I traveled an hour and a half to get here because they took the Cigma plan and today, I saved an estimated one thousand dollars and I didn't have to travel to several locations. I'm so happy with this place, I'm getting my wife the Cigna plan for her birthday and getting her a much needed tooth replacement and implant we have been putting off because of costs ... The dental center is not a one dentist and a few hygienist center. It is a place with multiple dentists and many different hygienist. They are learning or apprentices. They told me I needed a filling and I did the filling. I had to return because I was uncomfortable and felt something was wrong. They still did not fix the issue. I went back to my previous dentist in the city and he did a panoramic x-ray and I did not need a filling. They told my daughter she needed a root canal, I said absolutely not, took her to her previous dentist in the city and she did not need a root canal, she was grinding her teeth and needed her night guard to be readjusted. This is not the right place to go if you love your teeth and are used to exceptional dental care. read more

The office staff and call center are abysmal. They messed up and had to reschedule my appointment outside of there text reminders so I got told the wrong date several times. Got char for missing said appointment and when I set up my next one. IT WAS 3 MONTHS AFTER THE DAY I SCHEDULED IT!!!! I scheduled it for July 1st and there "team" scheduled it for October when the lady on the phone said July 1st. The dentists are actually good the staff was the most mixed up group of people I have ever met. They would cancel appointments because their surgeon is on call with a hospital and it took over a year to get my implants completed. I would never go back to many issues with staff. They can rename the place all they like service is still poor as my still continues to go and continues to have problems. read more

Guess Heather is still looking after a month, since my review and additional comments. Do not go to this dental facility. Insurance practices are not in place accordingly and staff not knowledgeable to handle issues that arise that they cause! I have put in a legitimate complaint with the BBB and my insurance company has also been notified and listened to the voicemail message from the person who told me the exact cost that I paid. I have also contacted DFS and filed a complaint and DFS got right back to me. If if happened to me, best believe others have experienced the same thing. Check the reviews. Go elsewhere for dental treatment. There are others places in New Windsor, surrounding areas within and in NYC that are just as high tech and even better. read more

Their billing department is a mess. I received a letter in the mail saying I owed money. When I called the billing department the lady was very rude and condescending when talking to me. Told me she sent my insurance the paperwork multiple times. When I talked to my insurance they said they never received anything. When I told her that my insurance never received anything she told me I can do it myself then later said that she will send it again but will only give it 30 days. After 30 days she will send it to a collection agency. Pretty much felt like a threat. When I complained to dental clinic, the lady that I talked to gave me no confidence that anything will be done about their billing department. Very unprofessional. After the intitial phone call, they would not answer my calls anymore. I even left a voicemail for a call back and never received one. I do not recommend this place. read more

It is a shame I had to write this review. I actually liked my dental hygienist. But I do not appreciate when I left a message after hours that I had covid and could not make my next two visits, I get billed not one but two no shows. Just because someone did not check their messages. I even left a message to billing to please call me back in reference to this. All I got was a bill saying my account was delinquent. I work at a medical office and if we did this we would have a written or verbal warning. I payed. Its ok, But now I am going out of my way to make sure everyone I know does not go to this office. Called in several times for an appointment. Sent in required paperwork. Explained my situation was severe (I need a root canal). After not hearing back from them I called again and was told they would call me 4 days later after the endodontist reviewed the xray. It has now been 6 days, I left another VM and still have not been called. Found a great dentist elsewhere as this place obviously does not need my business. read more

This review is about Dr. Alexander Toth DMD and staff (Jovani and other medical assistants not sure of names) I needed a molar extracted that I had previously gotten a post and crown (different office) on that was super infected and painful last year. To make it more complicated I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and most doctors are nervous to take care of pregnant patients when it comes to local anesthetics / XRays etc... (always have dental issues during pregnancies and have been turned away from several offices in the past until I met my second or third trimester to be worked on) Well I was desperate this time, in excruciating pain, barely eating and my original dentist happened to be away on vacation. I was referred by a close friend and almost hesitant as I live about 30 mins away from the office. I went in for a consult had my clearance letter from my OB in hand and they squeezed me in last minute for the extraction that day. I waited about 2 hours which was fine as they were able to get me in same day and again I was in excruciating pain. by the time I was about to start I started getting jittery sweaty and clammy as I hadn't eaten a thing all day. I told the doctor if I could step out quick to grab something quick but he said no problem wait here, ran out to his car and grabbed me his own snacks, gave me 20 minutes to eat and came back after. Extracted my tooth in 10 minutes max and by the next day I was back to being myself no pain, healthy pregnancy and delivery. Today I went back for a wisdom tooth extraction which he predicted last year would give me issues and of course it did. Again he did a perfect job. Super professional, caring and compassionate. Can't say enough good things about this place. Very clean organized office. Dr. Toth is amazing. Staff is amazing. Most of all you can tell they all enjoy working there. read more

Dr. Stern and staff were very professional from the moment I arrived at curbside. They have an entire process in order to keep patients and their own staff safe. Everyone wearing masks and gloves. I was walked through the entire process of what would happen before it happened and they made sure I understood what was going on during the whole process. I am highly pleased with the level of service. Staff was very personable and made my experience worth noting. I would recommend anyone with dental pain or questioning service to come here as I was treated as if I was their one and only patient. Thank you Stern and Team! WORST SERVICE I EVER HAD. The specialist was arguing with the nurse while doing the procedure on me. I think they forgot I was there where they bumped into my head 7 times as I was laying on the chair, I counted it! Even worse they completely forgot to put the glasses on me to reduce the light on my eyes while doing the procedure until 10 mins later. They handled the procedure with no care and jammed my tooth where I jumped in pain and made the specialist scream. My reaction was so close to swinging at her for the pain she was causing. I never felt anxiety at a dentist's office until today. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Don't go, unless you want to get tortured! You'll be just another number here for them to collect a paycheck. If I could I would give ZERO STARS. Save yourself from coming here. read more

My son became an Ortho patient and is currently under Dr.Boyle's care over the summer 2018. I haven't had any issues, the doctor and staff are all professional and kind. The office is nice and clean, which is something I look at upon entering an office. First impression goes along way.. Although I had a large out of pocket expense I understand it is to treat my son to avoid breaking his jaw in the future. So I did what I had too! I do recommend this place if you need an orthodontist. Scheduling can be a challenge SOMETIMES.. but the staff has been making every effort to help me with after school hours which I truly appreciate and because the doctor and his assistant has been doing a great job with my son, this far, I am giving them this high rating. Went for dental cleaning/scaling planing and X-rays. Dentist came in and gave injection and left so that hygienest could complete one side of mouth After x-rays dentist said I need a lot of work including treatment of two abscesses. I returned following day to get the other side cleaned and a different dentist gave injection. The dentist did not come in to discuss a plan of care or even tell me to make a follow-up appointment. I went to front desk and secy didn't answer me when I asked when should I come back. All she said was that it would be expensive. I never felt so humiliated. I was on a conveyor belt with nobody directing me. A dental abscess can be dangerous and there was no direction. When I first made appt I was told they took my insurance and I completed all forms on line and included all insurance documentation. They should have called me to let me know they didn't accept it before treatment. When I questioned secy, she said "we can give you your records to find another dentist". No compassion. However that is not my biggest complaint. My biggest complaint is that there is no direction or care involved in treating patients. read more

I can't understand how this place is so poorly reviewed. I have neglected my mouth for more years than a human being should, and these guys and gals could not have been better, more professional, etc... root canal, 7 or so cavities and many teeth cleanings since I've stepped my dental game up. And I couldn't be happier with this place. In and out as fast as possible without a lack of care on their part. I'm the biggest pu**y when it comes to oral care, but I actually never dread going to this place. My doc, mr manno and his crew are a1 top notch. And every person other than that crew have been amazing as well. A 5 star review does not do this place justice. I'd go 10 if I could. I read several of the other negative reviews and felt compelled to share my experience. Overall, its been a positive one, the dentist are competent and treated me fairly. I find it irritating that people complain about looking at you with $$$$. Of course they do, this is a business, not a charity. There are many dentist on staff, insurance, x-ray machines, equipment, etc. It can't be cheap to run this place. Dental work is not cheap, it is just the way it goes. I never felt like they were suggesting work that was not medically necessary. This past weekend my crown and post fell out (put in by another dentist years ago). They were able to squeeze me in and get me an emergency appointment. Cut them a little slack. read more

I had the absolute worst experience today with this dental office......I have been here before and was very satisfied but there was no excuse for how unprofessional this office was today and then they blamed it all on the COVID situation. I arrived today for my 12:00 pm appointment and was met with a huge sign on the entrance door to TEXT their phone number to let them know I was there. Several minutes go by and they respond by texting me back and asking for my vehicle information; I replied that I was at the back door and I wait several more minutes and finally receive a TEXT that says your appointment WAS at 12:00pm and it is worded to insinuate that my appt. had been cancelled because they considered me late. I reply with "I WAS here and texted you at 12:00 and I'm getting pretty annoyed standing here waiting outside". 8 minutes later, after I got fed up and told her I was leaving, I get a wordy TEXT indicating that it takes 9 minutes for the TEXT to go thru and she was going to tell me I was checked in now and someone would be out to get me. SERIOUSLY? I waited over 15 minutes, it was implied that I was late when I wasn't and oops, ok, you're checked in now - unacceptable. If it takes that long for your office to receive a TEXT, which is how you are REQUIRING PATIENTS TO CONTACT YOU, maybe someone should be outside checking people in and you should not be expecting your patients to stand there waiting until you get around to TEXTING them back. OR perhaps patients should be directed to CALL and speak to a person instead of waiting for your office staff to respond to a TEXT......Please note: this office did not officially cancel my scheduled March appointment nor did they return any of the messages I left to inquire if I still HAD an appointment when business started closing - they just left me hanging; I waited 3 months to get today's appointment after they finally called me to reschedule; none of the appointment confirmation emails indicated that I should have expected to wait at my car and TEXT them upon arrival and then wait for 15 minutes for a reply; and then after I finally left, I get a final TEXT going on about how the COVID situation is the new normal and they appreciate my understanding - no, no I really do not understand how you think COVID is responsible for your ridiculous way of checking patients in nor do I feel what I experienced today was in any way acceptable, professional or reasonable. This was a giant waste of my time. RANT OVER......Go elsewhere UPDATE: I received a response to this post by the business and he stated that I was only kept waiting 9 minutes, which is inaccurate and I have the text messages to document it. I also want to clarify that I was waiting over 8 minutes for a response TEXT message - and this was after it was implied that I was late - then complete silence - I didnt even know if they had cancelled my appointment - the owner of the business is implying that I was impatient waiting 9 minutes for my appointment and that is completely untrue and misleading. I was STILL trying to check in and was getting no response 15 minutes later. read more

Please do not attend this dental. My husband, in January was schedule to have a couple of teeth removed. My insurance company was billed for a total of 10 teeth removal of $230.00 each. This was not true, I place a grievance with my insurance company. They have requested dental records and phone call. No one at New Windsor Dental has return call. I love my dentist. Dr. Stern he is so patient, soft spoken and caring. I have been anxious in the past when going to the dentist. When I go to see him I'm calm. I just close my eyes and before I know it we are done. He talks me through whatever dental work I need. The staff is VERY professional. That is something that you usually don't find in a dental office. I'm very pleased with the service I get. I'm switching my children from there pediatric dentist to this office. read more

Waited for an appointment for over two months and got the appointment canceled 2 hours before I was supposed to show after taking an entire day off work because the dentist was unable to make it in that day. Then they offered me an appointment an entire week later after my tooth has been infected and waiting to be extracted because they canceled my appointment twice. Windsor Dental Review 24 hour notice I was a patient of Windsor Dental for at least ten years . Today, September 14 2017, I called to cancel a cleaning appointment that I had scheduled for this afternoon. I made the cancellation this morning about 5 hours prior to the appointment time . I was unable to give them twenty four hours notice as my cat had a medical emergency and had to be rushed to the hospital . They told me they will have to charge me $100 for a cancellation fee because I had did not given them 24 hour notice. They explained to me that nine months ago I also cancelled without 24 hours notice and it is, " their policy to charge after more than one cancellation". I told them nine months ago I had to help my father that day in an emergency situation and that is why I could not make that January appointment nine month ago . How can you give 24 hour notice in an emergency? I offered to provide proof of both emergencies . They again quoted their policy " we need 24 hour notice for cancellations" I told them I was never a no show patient as I called them the two times in ten years that I had to cancel. I also told them I did not know about this policy . She said ," it on the documents you signed". I said It must be in the fine print as I do not recall seeing this and I said this is a true emergency. Again, policy was quoted . I said perhaps Dr Stern could write off the missed appointment .After all , I am a patient for 10 years plus. They said again, " it our policy to charge $100 dollars for not given 24 hour notice ". She repeated like a broken record . Finally , I told them if they do not waive the fee I will no longer go there. Again , she said " it is our policy....". Is is a shame that this office was more concerned about filling their dental chair for a fifty dollar cleaning and charging me $100 than understanding that real emergencies can and do happen. That is why they are called emergencies. This is particularly true in my case as I called them two times to cancel in ten years for emergencies and offered to provide proof of the emergencies . This is more than just irritation and aggravation over $100 . This is about a rigid policy to provide 24 hour notice in a emergency situation. This is coupled up with no compassion . Not one time did they say I hope your pet is okay . Just repetitive quoting of their $100 policy. I will try hard to predict the future so I can provide 24 hour notice of a possible emergency at the next dental practice I go to. read more

I didn't hand y'all my paperwork about my bleeding tooth with an abscess for no reason..... y'all didn't do what you were supposed to do.. and now trying to make it seem y'all did something.. you sure did do something, you caused me grief and continued pain.. not one person called me back about someone seeing me for an emergency appointment, not one! And stern was the guy who did my fucking crown on this tooth a few years back I'm having problems with.. Frankly I would give 0 stars if possible. I was referred to Dr. Cohen, an Endodontist there - she received my X-rays via my dentist to see if I qualified for a root canal - if not, I was supposed to go back to my own dentist for a tooth extraction. I was told my X-ray was reviewed and I was a candidate for a root canal and to come in the following week. I was in a lot of pain - I went in expecting a root canal and instead was sent to a regular dentist - not Dr Cohen - who instead made me take more X-rays and shot me up with numbing med only to tell me the tooth was beyond repair - and promptly charged me $175 for a consult I never requested. I had been told the X-rays my dentist sent were reviewed and that I was going in for a root canal. Now I'm paying for oral surgery from my dentist after giving these crooks money for nothing. I won't even go into how the appt itself went - never again - stay away from this place!! For the record, this is the first time I've ever written a negative review - I always try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt - but when I told others who had gone through root canals / tooth extractions what happened here, they were shocked, and made me realize this was as bad as I had thought. The only bright spot was the dental hygienist was kind. But frankly that wasn't worth the time or money wasted. read more

STAY AWAY at all costs. Our family had been going there for 15+ years. Other then orthodontics the place is a wreck. We have developed infections had to have root canals re done and the "dental director" owner Dr stern is a third rate dentist at best. Have even had to have his fillings re done. Very high turnover in staff,hygienists, and dentists. If you do decide to go there pay with a credit card as they have a terrible habit of "misplacing" payments. What can i say but Overbooked Overcrowded and Understaffed which in my personal experience puts the dentist on edge and they rush everything. Appointments are usually scheduled months out and when you show up for that appointment all the dentist is talking about is AND I QUOTE " The side books are busy today you will have to reschedule" So you just waited 3 months for this appointment and probably took a vacation day or non paid day from work to have this BS happen to you. Imagine this same thing happening but now you have a infected tooth and are actually one of the side book patients. Need a root canal but the tooth is infected dentist won't work on it because its infected which i agree there. Says take your antibiotics and come back when it not infected. So my appointment is 2 months out now with this infected tooth and even I'm no medical expert but i call back and say "your telling me to take these antibiotics now but my appointment is 2 months out this is wrong and isn't gonna work with the timing it will be reinfected by then are you going to prescribe more a week or so before the appointment?" Dentist answer was to just take them now cause the tooth was infected. GREAT I'm a 9-5 uneducated working scrub and even i can see what's gonna happen from here. And of course it did my next appointment tooth was reinfected which i informed my dentist after 2 novocaine shot i still felt everything. There answer was the sidebooks where full we need to start now. I suffered through that root canal in extreme pain and the dentist finally listened to me and realized this wasn't a joke anymore after they opened the tooth. Been burned, stabbed,poked, had chemical solutions spilled on my face that burned, drill bits fall into my mouth over the years i went here. Of course non intentional but when your overbooked and Understaffed you rush and i have taken great abuse over the years i was here because of this. Bad buisness practice. I have since moved on and its great to go back to a normal operating dentist where a root canal post and crown happen over a 2 week period for everything.
