I've been a patient for almost a year. Office staff is very good. I've just had a root canal done by Dr. Vuong. He was excellent! Only painful part was getting me numb. I have high nerves, so it's extremely difficult to get me numb. I was sore after the numbness wore off, but pain free the next day! Dr. Reiss is my general dentist. She's thorough and good. She cares about her patients. Fay is my favorite. Great sense of humor, caring and definitely easy on the eyes! I recommend Advanced Dental. I've hated going to the dentist. That feeling still exists, but I know I'm in good hands and they'll make me as comfortable as possible. read more

This was the most disappointing experience I've had with a dental professional I think ever. My daughter just had braces removed three months prior to her first visit here. When you have braces you go in for routine dental care much more frequently than normal. I say this to say that three months ago my daughter did not have any cavities. We visited this office and had our first appointment. She had x-rays taken and then I was told that she had eight cavities that need to be filled quickly because they were severe. Now I am not a dentist but I find it hard to believe that someone can go from 0 to 8 severe cavities in three months. Needless to say we left that day with a copy of my x-rays and I made an appointment at another dentist office on the other side of town. They reviewed or I should say try to review the x-rays from this practice but they said that the quality was poor. Long story short she had no cavities and has not had any issues since. I also found it interesting that Wendy provided a quote for feeling the cavities it was something completely different than what my insurance company stated would be the cost. Could be a simple error weight could be something more than that. I don't now and honestly I'm glad I did not stick around to find out. read more

Every time I come here they try to upsell me. I just want a healthy mouth. I have been charged for things I did not need. Their work is shoddy. I just went to a new dentist recently and discovered that my scaling was never completed, of course they charged my insurance company though. I got my teeth cleaned here. My appointment to see the Periodontist was at 2pm for just a follow up. I checked in at 1:56. Sat down and waited and waited and waited. Finally at 2:45 some lady with bangs that are way too short to even be considered bangs, calls my name and proceeds to tell me it going to be another 10-15 minutes later. Needless to say I waited for an hour and 20 minutes to be seen. This is unacceptable. This place is the worst. I hate that I had to give it one star. If you have to get a tooth pulled, you DO NOT want to go the Advanced Dental. I had a tooth that was bothering me, so I called the Vales Gate New York office and made an appointment to get the tooth removed. As soon as you get there and get into the chair, they want to sell you a complete series of X-rays. I had to tell the bimbo dental hygienist that I didn't need a full X-ray series as only had THREE of my own teeth left in my mouth. Still, she proceeds to take X-rays of all three teeth even though it's obvious as to which tooth is the one that has to come out. Then, some guy comes in claiming to be a Dentist, looks at the X-rays and the hygienist tells him that I want the tooth pulled. He tells her to get a pair of pliers, looks at the X-ray and leaves. A few minutes later, another bimbo comes in to tell me that the "Doctor" says he can pull the tooth and tells me it'll cost $202.00. I say OK and she leaves. The Hygienist comes back in and takes me BACK out to the waiting area. I wait another 20 minutes. Finally, a woman who says she's a Dentists assistant comes out and takes me back into another part of the place, puts me in a chair and I wait again. The "alleged" Dentist comes in and starts sticking me in the mouth with Novocain injections and then, once again, leaves. I sit there for another 15 minutes waiting for the Novocain to take effect. Yet ANOTHER Dentist comes in, shoots me up with more Novocain and begins to extract the tooth. This takes all of 5 minutes. Now that the tooth is out, the "assistant" cleans me up, sticks some gauze in my mouth and directs me to the "check out" counter. I wait about 10 minutes while a woman working at a computer "decides" how much to charge me. When she finishes, she looks at another woman who looks at her computer screen and without ANY SHAME whatsoever, tells me I owe her $362.00! With my mouth full of gauze, I begin to argue as I was told the price was $202.00 to extract the tooth. That's when I'm informed that it took TWO "doctors" to pull the tooth plus the cost of X-rays and an "examination". These people are CROOKS and if you are in pain and need a tooth pulled, this is the LAST PLACE you'll want to go. read more

Advanced Dental is the worst money-grabbing dental firm ever! The incompetency of the front office staff is mind numbing. Here's my horrible experience dealing with them. 1. I was going to get an implant on a specific frontal tooth, and they were to make a "Flipper" for me so I wouldn't have a gap while waiting to get the implant done. I had to pre-pay $500 for this "Flipper" up-front! They took the mold of the existing tooth. Then the pandemic hit and I didn't want anyone in my mouth for quite a while. I've since left Advanced Dental due to their office incompetency and have requested a refund of the pre-paid flipper, which was never made. I can understand charging for the impression taken for the tooth, but they 100% refused to reimburse me anything for the Flipper! So, they pretty much charged me $500 to put putty in my mouth. I could have purchased Play Doh for $5 and done it myself! 2. They bribe you to leave a 5-star review with a Dunkin Donuts gift card. That's why there are so many 5-star ratings! Definitely not a 5-star outfit! 3. I have dental insurance, and they conveniently quoted me procedure costs without insurance. When I catch that and bring it to their attention, they requote with insurance applied. Then when I have the procedure, and it comes time to pay, the amount is conveniently inflated to the non-insurance price! EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! I bring the proper quote with me when I have procedures done, because I know the amount is ALWAYS going to be incorrect! 4. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. They suddenly tell me I should schedule a deep cleaning. I tell them no; I don't need or want a deep cleaning. They are overly persistent on doing a deep cleaning. To the point I'm totally annoyed and demand them to stop! When I go to pay, they say they are scheduling the next appointment to do a deep cleaning. At this point, I'm angry and tell them absolutely not! I'm done with Advanced Dental and their incompetence. I've since gone to County Dental and they're absolutely wonderful! Night and Day, compared to Advanced Dental. Advanced Dental is nothing but a money-grabbing dental practice. Go ahead and read all the negative reviews. They all state pretty much the same thing. Strip out all the 5-star "gift card" reviews. I pity you if you decide to continue to support this practice. read more

After receiving a severe mouth infection from them and then them unwilling to help me they then proceeded to send me a letter stating since I made a bad review that I should go find a new dentist. Then months later find out they sent me to collections apparently for an unknown balance. Called my insurance to find out they charged them for procedures they never did nor verified prior to my procedure and now expect me to pay out of pocket for this. This is the worst place ever and are nothing but liars and steal your money. Check your insurance claims and make sure they aren't charging for work that was never performed. read more

I have a HUGE phobia of the dentist! I had to get a root canal retreated and a crown. My anxiety was through the roof!! Dr. Voung retreated my root canal and Dr. Kaufman and was very took care of my crown. They treated me with kid gloves (which I soooo needed!) If I could leave a minus 5 I would. I almost fell on the floor when I heard the vulgar remark the dentist made to my mother. What kind of dentist talks a 90 year old, almost blind, deaf woman into a temporary flipper tooth at the cost of $598 then tells her she needs an extraction and in six months she will need an implant at approximately $3000. Don't walk away...Run. She was so upset and told the dentist, "you screwed me." The dentist replied, "Yes. That's what I do!", and then he slammed the door. She cancelled her appointment and they wouldn't give her all her money back. Also, they added a past due amount, which she did not owe. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. It's time to say goodby to this place. I basically stay because I like my dentist. Dr Lucido. Their office practice is terrible. When they use to be next door Ihe office manager called me up because I was 5 minutes late. I gave her a piece of my mind when I got there. When you walk in there you will see at least 5 people working at the front desk. You would think they could get things right. It takes at least 15 minutes when. you leave to check out and make the next appointment. Their billing system sucks to say the least. As another yelper wrote, they bill you for things they shouldn't have. Call your insurance company and go over the bill with them. My sister left thee 3 years ago because of bad billing errors ... it's time for me to follow. I can tell they're losing patients because the waiting room use to be crowded. Wait time is ridiculous. Had issue with wisdom tooth removal and received message that office was closed and would reopen Monday. Call Monday no one in office until after 11. Told to come in at 2. Get there door is locked, they are at lunch. Seriously, lunch, you just opened and told me to come in. When seen by the doctor he tells me to come back in 2 more days to see another doctor. They told me I needed a deep cleaning and said they couldn't give me a regular cleaning....yeah because they charge about $1200 for a deep clean. Also told me I had all these cavities. I recently had a check up/cleaning and some fillings done. Staff was helpful in accommodating my schedule. Wait time was not bad at all. The hygienist was thorough and explained each step she was doing. Dr. Park is the one who did the filling and had to do it 2 visits. I appreciated the fact that he didn't try to cram everything in 1 visit. When I went for the second visit, I didn't get seated until about 15 minute later than when I was scheduled. I know this happens and I wouldn't want the dentist to have to rush to finish my appointment. I liked the fact that he used an intra oral camera to show me exactly the problem areas as supposed to just using X-rays. He also found more problem areas that was not seen in the X-rays. He did ask my permission whether to proceed with the work. As far as the cleanliness and use of aseptic techniques, my only caveat was that they did not have a plastic barrier on the light on the dental chair that the dentist constantly touches. I'm hoping that it's wiped down thoroughly after each patient! As far as insurance, I will review the EOB and match it up with their billing. I'll edit if there's a problem. read more

I've been a patient at this dental office for over four years. I ended up with them after I was desperately searching for a place that would take my insurance and see me ASAP to get my upper wisdom teeth removed because they were KILLING me. The oral surgeon did an excellent job and I was so impressed with how nice the offices were there (TV's in the exam rooms, etc.) that I stayed as a client even though I live 40 minutes away. The hygenists are very nice and very good at their jobs, and the dentists are very friendly as well, though the hygenist is the one who does most of the work! There are two reasons why I haven't given this place five stars though: Receptionists are not always very friendly or effiecient and I have had some issues with decay forming underneath a filled cavity, which happened twice, and I don't see how that could happen unless the filling was not done properly or the filling itself is substandard (they use the white stuff, which while more cosmetically pleasing is perhaps not as effective as the metallic?). I did not get cavities until my late twenties though, so I am not expert on this. read more

Please do not get work done here. The first time I went, I sat in the waiting room for two hours listening to people come in and out with horror stories of wait time and inexperienced staff. I had to get an emergency root canal done and while waiting for the dentist to come in several staff members come and ask me why I am in this room as if they had no idea I was even waiting to have work done. Completely CLUELESS. I get the root canal done after they said I have 13 cavities which is not true according to the dentist I have now. Now it is a year later and I have to redo the root canal because they did such an awful job removing the nerve and placing the crown. Again, Go anywhere else but here, for your own sake. read more

My first experience was fine with Dr. Parks. He was kind and it made me want to come back. But when I came back and I went to a different dentist on their staff he wasn't nice. I had a bad customer experience. Though I'm sure he was giving me some important information and I don't blame him for needing to tell me. But his delivery made him come across like a bit of a jerk. After blowing up my fico score after the billing department lost or misplaced a check and cashed it some two months later and sending bill collectors after me for a Job that WAS NEVER COMPLETED! Now I go back and look for an adjustment on partials that were made there and NEVER warn because I refused to wait in there waiting for another 45 mins. Partially my fault...But one week later I get a FINAL NOTICE warning in the mail with a due date 06/24/2015... They're great people. The office staff are friendly. They're here for you, but the damn wait kills you. I had an appointment for 2pm and they reassured me that it would only take an hour, because the office closes at 3pm. I got here 15 min early to my appointment. Didn't get called in until 2:30. And they didn't get started with the procedure until 2:45. Other than time management, it's a good place. They have no problem seeing you if it's an emergency, even if you have never been here before. It's 5 minutes to closing time and still nothing done to me. They better fix this. I was happy with them in the beginning but then 10 minute waits turned to 50 minute waits and that's after the annoying robo calls reminding you to be on time. How about doing that for the clients when you know you are running late. My BIG problem is there billing dept. That for some reason didn't deposit a check that was given to them for 30 days and claimed I gave them a bad check and sent my account to collections when the work has yet to be completed! Bracesetters sent a specific referral to Advanced Dental and the oral surgeon (Dr. Lee) didn't complete what was stated on the referral. In addition, when I called the office to book the appointment and discuss the referral with the office staff, they stated that the oral surgeon would be able to complete the procedure discussed, which is why the appointment was scheduled. My daughter, who is 10, is apprehensive about going to the dentist to begin with and now because of the negligence of Advanced Dental, she has to go through another procedure because the surgeon only completed part of what was stated on the referral. If the office was honest with us to begin with, we wouldn't have made an appointment with them and would have gone elsewhere. When I confronted the office staff about the issue, they were defensive, condescending, and rude. I can't believe how I was spoken to by the office managers and will not tolerate that behavior from this office. When I first started taking my family to the office, I was asked to fill out a positive review on Yelp and then show proof of the review in order to receive a gift, which was a whitening kit. I now understand why the office was bribing patients to write a good review. Lastly, I received a nasty letter from the office stating that I will not be allowed to return to the office by Dr. Zangeneh because they weren't happy that I called them out on their disgusting behavior. In addition, if I wanted my records I would have to pay 25 dollars. The letter had words that were written in all capital letters, which is very unprofessional. My parents came here in 1998 and now i am coming here and the Doctors are wonderful and so caring and they will go out of their way to make sure you have healthy teeth.they explain to you about what is going on with your teeth and how to fix the issue. they have big flat screen computer screens in every room and they always go over the xrays with you and point at the xrays if they see a issue. you can always see them writing the notes they don't hide anything from you. if you looking for Dental office please come here they are wonderful. read more

New dentist in the office I think, and she'd great. I had Dr. Rashmat. The scheduling and new paperwork was easy, staff friendly, and they ended up being able to do my filling on the spot so I wouldn't have to come back for another appointment. She used good verbal cues during the procedure, was kind, and most importantly, gave the novocaine shot well :). As for cost, they're in network for my military insurance, so it'd be the same price anywhere. But fair and cheaper than Boston. read more

My daughter got braces here. They extended her braces for a year. Each additional visit consisted of changing the rubber bands. I got a call two days prior to my daughter removing her braces stating that we had an outstanding balance of $1300 that needed to be paid prior to the braces being removed. I paid over $4000 out of pocket which was paid in full. My insurance paid approximately $3000 and they still wanted $1300 for "extended care". I explained that I already paid my share in full. The office manager stated that in the contract it says any additional care that the insurance does not pay for is our responsibility. Beware you will be ripped off!!! read more

I've been going here for over a decade. Every time I go here, I spend the next several months fixing their billing mistakes from my last visit. Either they are billing me when they should be billing my insurance, or they are misbilling my insurance and I'm getting the nastygrams because of it. Also every time I go here, one of the previous fillings they gave me suddenly needs to be replaced - even if the X-rays don't show it. I figure that's how they drum up business. Some of the staff are friendly, others are somewhat rude...it depends on the day. Dr. Z did a good job and seemed pretty reasonable, but they say he's only doing the big jobs now and some new lady who barely speaks English is doing the other work. She also seems over-zealous in drumming up business, and she has recommended work that Dr. Z already told me I don't need. They do decent dentistry work here and are fairly easy to get an appointment with, but be cautious when it comes to the business end. read more
