About three years ago, we had Advanced Blind & Shade install shutters on all of the windows in the front of our home and blinds in our office. We were very happy with the product and the customer service we received from one of the owners at the time, Tom. Because we were so pleased, we referred several neighbors and friends. Recently, we decided to finish the final two windows in our home by installing blinds. Naturally, we called Advanced Blind & Shade. Boy have things changed! One of the new owners, Tim, provided the WORST customer service we've ever had. We were charged three times the amount we originally paid and were treated very rudely. We waited more than six weeks to get our blinds and when they finally came to install them, they hadn't measured correctly and needed to come back two more times to finish the job. What a hassle! I would NOT recommend using Advanced Blind & Shade or Tim! You'll have a much better customer experience elsewhere. read more

I have used this business three times in the past three year. Every time, the employees were exceptionally helpful, friendly and professional. Once, I brought a set of blinds on my way to work to be repaired, and they promised it would be done in two days, which was fine with me. But they called me that day before I got to work. Today, I took a set in whose mounting hardware had broken, and pulley system come apart. Instead of asking me to leave the blinds, the guy right then and there found the parts, told me how to put them on and only charged me $4 for the parts. They also gave me advice on how to clean another set. I wish all businesses could be like Advanced Blind & Shade. read more

We had Todd come out and gave us a bid to do the shutters and valances the job was done as was promised. We have had them do shutters for us on a different window year ago. and they are still in great shape. we were very happy with there installers they did a great job cleaned up as they went along very professional. would have them back any time read more

I can highly recommend Advanced Blind and Shade! We had them out when we replaced the windows in our office in Capitola. Tom Baker, their estimator, was very thorough as he presented options and walked us through the process. Measuring the blinds was tricky, but Tom saw what was needed and the blinds fit perfectly. As a roofing contractor for over 30 years, I can really appreciate professionalism, good communication and friendly people. They get 5 stars across the board. read more

After trying our luck at Home Depot and Lowes, our inlaws recommended Advanced Blinds. We really wanted shutters, but our budget was tight. They helped us find a way to make it work. We ended up getting cellular shades upstairs (better with the view, blocks out the neighbors) and just did the shutters in the front of the house. The shutters look better than I thought! We are so happy with their work, we decided to get one more for just one more window. Very happy with their prices, service and quality. We will be returning and recommending. read more

We've purchased shades from this family-owned business for two different houses in the last 6 years. The shades are beautiful, high-quality shades. One feature I particularly like is the "motor" which pulls the shades up very smoothly to the headrail. This is a great feature that makes it possible to put a one-piece shade across very large picture windows. The choice of fabrics is basic, but very nice. It wasn't difficult to find just the right shade for all windows in both homes. Delivery was right on schedule, and because the family-owned business eliminates the middle-man, prices are very, very reasonable. read more

Just had our new shades installed and they look beautiful! Todd was easy to work with; We wanted to do some specialized automation on our blinds. Todd was open to our requests and accommodated us, while making sure we were all on the same page. This included meeting a few extra times but Todd had no complaints. The installation was no hassle. Roger, a nice professional, came and installed them. Todd came and checked in on the progress. Again, putting in that extra effort and costumer service. The product is beautiful and worth the cost. Just recommended them to a close friend and now all of you! read more

Hi Sandy Wallace Realtor here in Santa Cruz CA. I have referred many of my clients to redo all the windows in the home that they are buying or selling. It makes a big difference in the selling price or the warmth of the home my clients are living in. This company is on my CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE of people I know. They are honest, have all the best products, and stand behind their work. They give a free consultation and they are always on time. read more

We recently moved into a home that had blinds and have called around looking for help with a broken one. The young lady at the desk area was very courteous. Max end up helping us and was SO nice! He knew exactly what the problem with the blind was and quickly addressed it--in house! Repairing the blind was affordable and fast. I honestly think this is one of the few places in town that can actually fix a blind you bring in...most other places are just small offices. We will definitely come here to get a few more of our windows done when we are ready! read more

I am very pleased with my blinds and shudders we purchased for our entire house. The customer service was excellent from start to finish ! Carol was very professional and the installers were awesome. I highly recommend Advanced Blind for all your window coverings needs ! read more

We set up a 2nd appointment only to find out that all of our previous paperwork was somehow misplaced. Then, when they came out, the man quoted us 7-10 business days from that date, which was July 10th. Today (7/21/18) we got a phone call saying that the 1st available appointment for installing the new blind is 7/31/18. There was no apology, and no explanation from the woman (Shawna) on the phone. Had she sounded apologetic, I really don't think that I'd be writing this review. read more

I had a fantastic customer service experience with Greg! He was accommodating and kind. The guys that installed the blinds did an amazing job. We love our new blinds at Cabrillo Veteran's Information Center. read more

I had a window shade installed last month. From the time I chose the window shade (along with many suggestions and ideas to chose from) until it was ordered and installed was a positive experience. I highly recommend Advance Blind and Shade. read more

Thanks to Adam our blinds were ordered and installed with precision and on time. He did an amazing job!!!! We will definitely recommend Adam at Advanced Blind and Shade to anyone. read more

Adam did a great job of measuring and then later installing my roller shades. Thanks for the excellent service.

I have very seldom received such excellent, cost-saving service from any company. One of my blinds broke a cord. I tried to fix it myself with a new cord but that didn't work. So I took the blind into Advanced Blind and asked them to replace it. They said, we can do that but we might be able to repair it. That would save you money. I accepted their offer and it was ready in a couple of days. I'm not kidding. I asked to buy a new one and they told me that wasn't necessary. I will always be grateful to them for their desire to save me money. R. Porter read more

They installed a black out blind in the kid's room to keep out the sun in the morning and for naps. Now he stays asleep a little longer which lets us sleep a little longer = priceless! read more

Advanced did a good job, initially, installing blinds for two windows and two sliding doors. When the cord for one of those shades broke, I went in for a replacement. Now, this is about a 60" piece of thin string. The guy who came out from the back should have simply apologized for having installed a faulty loop of string (the three others are fine; they haven't broken). Instead he informs me that it will be 10 dollars, but he'll give me a break and sell it to me for $5. Really? $5.00 for a five foot bit of string? And the attitude is I should be grateful for the bargain? That's customer service? He didn't even give me a receipt. There is no documentation for this "transaction." For all I know, there is a bin of string loops in the back and I helped this employee buy a sixpack for that night. Until this happened, I would have given Advanced 5 stars, but I'm never going back there. read more

Just read a review by Claire L. which represents, almost exactly, how Carole at Advanced Blind has treated me every time I have gone in there. One would be hard put to find a person working with the public with a worse attitude towards the customer than this woman. Disinterested, condescending, short, unapologetic, at times rude and, in general, seemingly wanting to be anywhere but there. If they weren't so conveniently located to us, I would have never gone back in, never again. read more

This is our second time using ABS and we are still so happy with them. We loved our original blinds and now that we're remodeling, we wanted to replace them. Todd came out with some samples and gave his professional advice on what looked best. He's very personable and considerate while doing the consultation and flexible with the timing. Everything with ABS was so easy, from the initial setting up of the consultation with Nikki to the consult with Todd to the actual ordering of the blinds with Carol! I'd recommend them to anyone looking for quality window coverings! Thanks ABS team! read more

This is the second time using them. They have great products, are very knowledgable & professional. When I walked in the door I was greeted & helped immediately. That kind of service barely exists today! Bill was very personable and the installer was great too. read more

The folks at Advanced Blind & Shade were wonderful! From estimates through ordering and installation - they made the process seamless. I especially appreciated the professionalism that Adam brought when he came to hang our new blinds! Highly recommend! read more

Recently Advanced installed a covering for our 16 foot window. The owner came to our home and suggested a design that we had not considered. As it turned out it was an excellent choice. We approved the estimate, which was fair. And last week the window cover was installed and it looks great. We could not be happier. We have used Advanced before and have always been happy with their work. A 5 star rating. A great place to go for window coverings. read more

Amazing! Really fast and great customer service. The technician finished in 30 minutes and was great with my puppy. Tom was wonderful and came out to give me an estimate and also played with my puppy while measuring. Overall great experience all around. Thank you for the gorgeous blinds! read more

Great service. Repeat customers. Last week while I was in the store I happened to run into a friend--she said she's always used Advanced Blind & Shade for all her blinds, and that they're great. They have a nice selection of good-looking window dressings on display. I was there looking for parts to mount blinds myself, and to replace a couple of broken/missing wands. The employees were extremely generous and helpful. They cheerfully found the right parts for me and explained what I'd need and why, and they also told me what it would cost for them to do the repair/installation for me. In the end I decided to do it myself--thanks to their help it's gone well and the parts were very inexpensive. I also am confident I'd be happy with their work if I'd paid them to do it for me. I totally trust their integrity so when I get new blinds or want to have blinds installed, I'll definitely go to them, not other places in town. read more

Had an amazing experience with this company . I ordered reasonably priced window coverings for all of my rooms . The guy that came out to do the measuring was very nice and helped me through the process of selecting colors and types of blinds for my home . I can't say enough about the installer . They gave me a time frame of 10:00-12:00 and they were here earlier than I anticipated .The was done in an hour and a half . Amazing job and great customer service . read more

Advanced Blinds was great. They redid our whole house which had old and dirty vertical blinds. Service was great both from the owner who did the measuring, and the installer, both very competent and friendly and pleasant and prompt to respond. We thought the prices were very reasonable, especially after a previous encounter with a highly advertised national company whose service was awful and prices ridiculous. Wish we had gone to Advanced Blinds first. They also repaired for us some poorly installed blinds done by That Other Company. Much appreciated. read more

About 2and a half years ago I went into Advanced Blind as I always did to purchase units for my new home. The guy pushed on to me a certain type of 2'' that he highly recommended.I have had nothing but problems with them cracking. It seems that they are a cheap particle substance that is very fragile. You cannot even clean them with a cloth without the fear of cracking them. They have replaced the cracking slats on other occasions.I never gave them a second thought because I was under the impression that they were made in house and there manufacturing plant in Watsonville.I was told today that these are outsourced to a company in Mexico.I want these out of my house and expected a credit on new blinds.I got a message today that I will need to basically buy new blinds at the costs of hundreds of dollars.Think twice about shopping here they don't seem to stand behind there sales. This is an ongoing effort to get this issue resolved. read more

I highly recommend Advanced Blind and Shade! I called Advanced Blind for a repair on my blind. I was up against a very short timeline - I needed to have the blind repaired within one day. Shauna listened to my concerns, then referred me to the manager, Max. Max asked me to take photos of the blind and send to him. From the photos, Max determined my blind could be repaired in-home. He arranged for Johnny to come to my house, and an hour later the job was completed. This is amazing service! Shauna, Max and Johnny were all polite, professional and friendly. They understood my dilemma and solved the problem. They did an excellent job and I am 100% satisfied. Highest recommendation! read more

We added a dining room on our log cabin in Bonny Doon. We chose 16' of windows looking out to view our redwood grove. Keeping a budget throughout, we asked Bill, the salesman, to come prematurely after windows were installed. He said he'd measure everything for our budget but had to come back once the finished frames were in. Months later he came back and remeasured for the 8 window coverings. We were able to repurpose one window for our studio, therefore cutting the original bid. From Bill's 2 visits ~to our 2 installations, the customer service was wonderful!!!! Living rurally, we appreciate more than anything, great customer service, fun people to work with and perfect products for our needs!!! Our shutters installed today and a remote controlled blind in the dining room are such an upgrade along with all the matching wood blinds that look exactly like the rest of our cabin!!! It took 4 visits and miles of driving to complete this job!! Typically it should have taken 2, but THEY worked it out for us ~without one complaint!!! Great store with excellent personnel!!! read more

We manage an apartment complex and needed replacement vertical blinds for many of our units. We went in asking how much the replacements would cost, and Claudia kindly informed us that we could actually buy a $1.50 part that would repair the vertical blinds, so we wouldn't have to buy the entire thing! Saved us tons of money. Great when a business is looking out for your best interests, now we'll be referring everyone who needs blinds to this great outfit! Thanks for a wonderful experience, read more

Thank you! After a miscommunication, our blinds were made in the wrong size. But after speaking with a manager, we finally got it figured out and he put a rush on a new order to make it right. Even though it was partially our fault, they took ownership and fixed it! I really appreciate that, and will be back next time we need blinds! read more

We got the most beautiful shutters and blinds from Advanced Blind. We just love them and how they transformed our home!

We remodeled our house recently and my husband wanted to look into duofold, top down or bottom up shades for all of the windows of our home. We decided on the Symphony Double Honeycomb Cellular Shades, BEST decision we ever made. In the winter, our house is warm and cozy. In the summer, the house is cool and comfortable. I can't say enough about the friendly, professional staff at Advanced Blinds. They came out and measured and customized all of the blinds for the variety of windows. A short time later, the blinds were finished and quickly installed. The attractive shades allow the scenic beauty of the trees to be admired without sacrificing the privacy of our interior. Wonderful, knowledgeable and experienced personnel will help you with the great variety of choices, options and colors. Thank you for the First-Rate window dressings, we love them! read more

Brian is the best! He fixed a shade that everyone else said I should replace. It was done quickly and expertly. The only downside is trying to get in and out of the parking lot onto 41st Avenue during lunch hour! But, I would brave the traffic for the great work they do. Everyone is always helpful and friendly. When I do decide to change out my shades, I will definetely come here. read more

Just moved to a house with a lot of old cellular blinds! At first I was going to go with replacement blinds, but I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money. Joey explained that I may be able to clean the old Hunter Douglas blinds instead. Joey was careful with my blinds and they came out beautifully clean and were done in just a few days. The price was very reasonable. I'm very happy with the service and will return here when I need new blinds. read more
