I called from Mavis's lot to see what time timeline would be and their said they could get me in immediately. Staff was friendly, competent and professional. They claim it's part of being transparent, but was not at all. If they assume you know nothing about cars they will try to take you for whatever they can. Took it in for brake pad change, they charged $90 for "full break system diagnostic" and recommended to change pads and rotors (which I already told them was the issue). Brakes now squeak worse than when I took it in. Plus the ABS light is on (was not going in). So....expensive break job that actually made it worse. More concerning: they severed the ground wire from engine to body. Then they tucked the loose wire away so I wouldn't see it assuming I wouldn't know what it was. Totally unacceptable and dangerous. Honestly, it was almost funny how insane some of the prices were. They tried to charge us for parts and labor like 3-5 times more than actual BMW dealers do. For example, a part that costs $500 on official BMW websites they told us is $1300, and labor for it was $2000. I really don't know how they come up with these numbers. Another thing, spark plugs that cost like $50 online they wanted $770 for them!! How did they even come up with this!? Plus insane labor price. Please be careful if you decide to take your car here. Do some research before agreeing to anything, because they SHAMELESSLY tried to take advantage of us. And I also regret paying $300 for the diagnostic check. They came down but it still somehow ended up being more than what we were told online. They also misplaced my keys and could not find them for a bit so additional time and anxiety there. They didn't seem to think this was problematic and laughed it off. This visit, I walked in and they said "there were a few cars in front of you"...there shouldn't be. I made an appointment. My car should be seen at my apartment time not after whomever walked in before me (which I was told there are appointments and walk in's before you") after sitting there for a half an hour and watching the two other cars back while mine sat there in the lot-which felt retaliatory because I did not hide my dismay after being told that and after having. Similar experience just two weeks prior (which seems reasonable) I found a place that could take me immediately. So I left. When I asked for key they didn't even speak to me. Staff communicates with you throughout the process while you wait in your car. If it gets too hot they have a small room with A/C. Yet within less than three years, I needed jumpstarts more than once--clearly the battery wasn't fine. I even had the car checked by both a dealership and a private mechanic, and they all pointed to the battery. Before coming in, I called and spoke with the manager, but once I got there, they still refused to honor the warranty. Very disappointing--no accountability, no consistency. I wouldn't trust this location for accurate diagnostics or reliable customer service.
