I've been here now twice. Both times I had an appointment. Both times they completely disregarded said appointment. What is the point of making and offering appointments if you aren't going to respect that appointment? At the first appointment, they also tried to up charge me by $40. Which I argued away because I had already purchased online and in doing so that told me how much labor would be. They tried to say it due to "taxes" and that it was because the website calculates the taxes in NY state. Sir, if that was the case then you should be charging me LESS than the online quote as NY taxes are higher than FL's. They came down but it still somehow ended up being more than what we were told online. They also misplaced my keys and could not find them for a bit so additional time and anxiety there. They didn't seem to think this was problematic and laughed it off. This visit, I walked in and they said "there were a few cars in front of you"...there shouldn't be. I made an appointment. My car should be seen at my apartment time not after whomever walked in before me (which I was told there are appointments and walk in's before you") after sitting there for a half an hour and watching the two other cars back while mine sat there in the lot-which felt retaliatory because I did not hide my dismay after being told that and after having. Similar experience just two weeks prior (which seems reasonable) I found a place that could take me immediately. So I left. When I asked for key they didn't even speak to me. So not only are they incompetent at basic scheduling but they're also unprofessional in their manor. So no I will not be back and you should avoid this place. They can't handle basic scheduling and act like children when they get any pushback about their incompetence. read more

I have been a customer of Mavis Tires for the past 8 years. I greatly appreciated the service I received & the honesty behind the services you offered. The Service Light came onto my dashboard on Friday, August 28 so I went online and booked an appointment for today @ 9:00. I arrived at 8:45 and took a seat to wait for my oil change & wipers to finish. At 10:30, I was approached by a service manager stating the tread was low on my two front tires and my wiper blades were worn. I was also encouraged to do a brake flush. I agreed to the tires and mentioned I had stated I needed wiper blades on the appointment when I booked it & when I arrived. The total given to me was $386. I stated the brake flush could wait until next time. I confirmed $386 for everything and he stated yes. I asked how much longer it would be and was told 1 hour. I was recently diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis and sitting for long periods of time becomes painful. At 11:40, the technician was still adjusting wiper blades. I'm running short on time as I had an 1:00 appointment and was becoming anxious. I asked again how long it would be. The same service manager told me he was done & backing out. I responded he's not backing out, he's still adjusting wiper blades. Please put the old ones back on. I was told sometimes they can be a pain in the butt. The back one was not changed out because they don't have them; which I'm fine, but tell me. At noon, after 3 1/2 hours I'm told I'm finished. Imagine my surprise when the total is now over $600!!!! I mentioned what the initial service manager mentioned and his response was I misunderstood. He did credit the oil change; however, imagine my surprise when I looked at the receipt and I was charged $84 per wiper blade!!! Is this the only one you carry??? Why was I not told of price of the wiper blades prior to putting $84 blades on my car...that's insane!! I also saw a $30 VIP charge for lifetime balancing of my tires. Since now all 4 tires have now been bought there, would that not happen anyway??? The final bill was $504.00. It's more than the money. It was miscommunication, sitting for 3 1/2 hours with an appointment, it was ineffective communication on charges and $84 wiper for EACH wiper blade. I seem to recall the motto at one time being we treat you like we would treat our mothers or sisters. It's unfortunate that motto has gone out the window. I won't be back. read more

I hate to say it but this Mavis is unprofessional, I brought my car here for an oil change a couple months ago and they did something incorrectly so now my tire light has been on for months and they won't fix it. I made an appointment for a spark plug change with "Tony" and I come in today and "Joe" say the price that Tony quoted me is incorrect as someone failed to mention I need another part in addition to the spark plugs I'm already supplying for my car. I don't appreciate the failure to mention everything I need to get my vehicle repaired in advance, Tony and Joe get your stuff together, Mavis I've been a customer with this dying brand for nearly 10 years and this is how you treat your customers. Dry, distasteful employees that leave a bad reputation on Mavis. I won't be referring to this shop ever again! read more

We had a great experience using Mavis Tires on Colonial Dr. in Ocoee on Sunday. We were desperate to get a flat tire fixed. We'd been out of town and it was late afternoon. A few other tire locations had turned us away so by the time I talked to Tony, the service manager at Mavis I was not very hopeful, but I needed my vehicle first thing in the morning. He was very kind and helpful. He said he would do his best to fit us in. During our wait, I could overhear him speaking to the mechanics as well as other customers and he was always calm and helpful. Tony got it done and I was able to make my appointment in the morning. Thank you Tony and the mechanics at Mavis! read more

I want to update my review as we also picked up a nail in our RV tire and this morning I drove 30+ minutes back to Mavis and this amazing team to repair the tire. Once again 5-Star service and I cannot thank them enough. They took the tire and immediately began to repair it. What a team and thank you again guys and gal! read more

NEVER again will I be a customer of this place. the "Manager" Tilly was the absolute worst! I had a 2:30pm appt for a tire change. After TWO HOURS of waiting, I was told that my tire was not even on the premises. After throwing a 10% discount for an off brand, non matching tire, I wait another HOUR for them to change the tire. Only to find out my car was finished and ready to go 30 minutes prior -- but nobody communicated that to me. When I explained my frustrations to Tilly, he literally spoke over me and responded with, "Lady just pay the bill and get out of my store. I don't want to hear your mouth anymore". If you think I am lying, PULL UP THE CAMERAS. He then stood there, not processing my payment. And when I told him I was needing to leave he threatened to call the police on me for walking out on a payment THAT HE WAS NOT PROCESSING. Then he literally just walked away, into the bays. It was the other Manager, Tony, that was the ONLY great thing about my experience. TONY deserves a raise, as he was what good customer service is all about. Needless to say, I will save the religious comment Tilly made for my letter to Corporate but I would be remiss if I did not warn others about Tilly. To the GM John A.--- please consider this review your heads up for the letter I will be sending to Corporate. You have a liability on your hands with that man. If you would like to discuss this further, I'm sure you can grab my number out of the system. Tilly knows who I am. read more

Refreshing Honest Business! Took my son's truck in for an alignment because his tires were wearing bad. Joe and the team got us in for our appointment on time and quickly finished their work. Oil change turned into a nightmare I went to Mavis Tire & Brakes in Ocoee for a simple oil change. My car was running when I arrived. Immediately after the service, the car smelled like burning oil, started smoking, and stalled. I brought it back right away. The shop replaced a valve cover gasket "for free," which tells me something went wrong during their work. After that repair, the car would not stay running at all and made loud exhaust-type noises that were never there before. Instead of helping, I was told I didn't know what I was talking about, spoken down to by three male employees, and told the issue is now a "tune-up" and not their responsibility. They also entered false notes in their system about a conversation that never happened and then refused further help. I left feeling humiliated and stuck with a car that was worse than when I brought it in. I would not recommend this read more

I've been using Mavis Tires on W. Colonial every since it replaced the previous Mr. Tire and I've been very satisfied with the overall experience so far. I've had my Cadillac and Mercedes tires serviced there and I've had zero complaints. Sometimes the business is very high and there can be a potential wait so I'll typically do an early morning drop off when the business volume is high. But the staff has always been very pleasurable to work with and they've done their best to provide the best service from my personal experience. Tire prices are typically the same as other places but I applied and received their Mavis Card which makes it easier when I have to replace a set of tires. They're my go to shop for general tire repair and replacement and I've been very satisfied with their services read more

Total Rip off joint!! They also use scare tactics to get you to spend more. They charged 2x the price of the actual part. They changed an alternator in car. My car is 14yrs old with 269,000 miles. They never gave a choice of a new Alternator or a refurbished Alternator. The manager Woody never gave me a choice. I had a refurbished alternator in the car for the last 8yrs. So of course Woody choose to put in a new alternator costing $793. It is a car quest brand alternator. You can buy 1 at Advanced auto for $399 for there top of the line one. (I am sure that is not what was put in.) So it was marked up double the price or more. Insane pricing or price gouging at its best. Don't get caught up in there tangled web of deceit. Call around first for other quotes don't get ripped off at this shop. The most the whole job should have cost is $650. Buyer beware!!! read more

High Priced Hacks !! Stay away! - I brought my car in to this location a few weeks ago for a nail in the tire . - Unfortunately the nail was in the outside tread block and so was against most shops policy to repair , but i took a chance to see if they could help. - Mavis was no exception here and recommended new replacement tires. - the technician also correctly recommended new brake pads and rotors for all 4 wheels due to age and wear. This is where it gets bad. - i declined the tires because i wanted to do research on which models i wanted before dropping roughly 1k on new ones. I did not like the current tires i had and wanted to choose something different. The air pressure was holding on the damaged tire so i asked the salesman to give me his recommendations and i would return to do the service once i had made a choice. He asked me to come look at the brakes with him and he let go of the wheel/ tire dropping it on the wheel face and chipping the paint.. oh well i thought honest mistake and not really a big deal to me. I never said anything about it. - he "quoted" off the top of his head what seemed like vague prices of $250 a wheel for new brakes service. another $1k . i was now being recommended $2k in repairs because i asked them to look at a nail in my tire. i said no thank you to the brake repair, as i am capable of changing the brakes myself without problem (those prices for brakes are just insane when you are capable yourself) - the salesman agreed but refused to give me a written estimate for anything he wanted to sell me. - as i was talking with him i hear the very distinct sound of an air impact driver bottoming out on a nut for over 1 min straight .. i think not much of it as the shop was packed with cars . could have been anything i thought. - well turns out the mechanic had intentionally cross threaded the wheel studs when he bolted the wheels back on my car. i know what you may be thinking , honest mistake it can happen anytime. but he drove the nuts down so long and over torqued them so much the good ones were almost impossible to remove and the damaged ones were pushed on so hard that the wheel stud broke in half after driving . that does not happen even by accident without knowing. he either did it intentionally out of retaliation or drove the nuts down knowing it was damaged and hid it . just childish either way .. people could have been seriously injured if my wheel studs broke and my wheel came off while driving they may have actually have had my business on a new set of tires and an alignment, but after that behavior from the salesman and the tech , Mavis will never get another second of my time . This is not the first time they have done similar "work" for me or my friends / family. My advice: Stay away and take your business to locals or mobile mechanics who value and respect your time . Don't give your money to these chain shops staffed by disrespecting man- children . read more

-0. I made an appointment for one tire. I got there before my appointment. I was told there 'only two tickets ahead of us but it won't be long' An hour and ten minutes later, our car was still in the in the parking lot! when I asked for my keys, thats when the young man offered to ACTUALLY change our tire! They also had no air conditioning in the waiting room but I could feel a cool breeze coming from the garage! I actually work in a garage and my husband is an ex mechanic, the company I work for wouldn't be in business long if we worked our shop like that. very disappointed. read more

Lizzy helped me with my oil change and gave me such great service. I'll be sharing with all my friends!

I discovered that I had a nail in my tire on a Saturday morning. It was slowly leaking air because the pressure was a bit lower than the other tires. I tried going to the Action Gator closest to my house, which was in Hamlin. They were insanely busy (of course) and couldn't help me out at all that day. We called the Ocoee store and they could take me in right away. Yay! Everyone was super friendly and helpful there when I checked in my car. I also asked that they fill up all my tires since I knew they all needed a little bit of air. They told me it would probably be about an hour (maybe two max) to repair it. Actually, that was even better than I was anticipating! A little while later, I received a phone call from the Ocoee store. They informed me that the technician recommended new rear brakes. I hadn't noticed a problem with my brakes, but I after checking online for my car's age and mileage, it was possible that it was due for new brakes. So I took their word for it and said to go ahead and replace them. A short time later, I received another phone call from them saying that the technician told them about the wrong car and my brakes were fine. I was actually relieved and appreciated their honesty. An hour or so later, I received another call that my car was ready for pick-up and the tire had been repaired. I started up my car and noticed that the readings on my tires for the three good tires were still the same, and the repaired one was down to 13 PSI. I thought that the sensor just hadn't registered it correctly yet, so I stayed in the parking lot for a bit and then drove it around the parking lot. It didn't change. I went back inside and asked about it. They had me immediately pull the car up for air. Apparently, nobody filled my tires with air at all! Even the repaired one that was desperately in need of it. It was a little alarming, but probably an honest oversight. I'm just glad I didn't try to venture home like that. Even though there were a few mishaps on my adventure, I would still return to this particular Action Gator. They did a great job overall, got in me in quickly on a Saturday, and were friendly and attentive. Most of all, it was their honesty about the flubs that won me over. A lot of places probably wouldn't even admit to their mistakes. read more

This is the second time I have gone here for my car and I would recommend it to anyone! All the people that work here are always so kind and helpful, and it never feels like they are trying to get more money from you. I just did my oil change and it was around $80 for synthetic oil, and they also checked my breaks and tires for free! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I really think they need a counter person to help them out in the front of the shop. There were 2 people in front of me in line that have been waiting when I arrived and it seemed like all the workers were working hard on cars so they were busy. I think it would be really nice if they had a counter person just to help out with customer service while they are hard at work. Other than that once it died down two of the workers struck conversation with me and it was so nice to not have to sit in silence for a hour! Thank you guys for always being my go to! read more

Had a good experience with Action Gator Tire today for my oil change and tire balancing. We called beforehand to compare prices with other stores, and they had the best price and by far were the most friendly. They tagged on a $10 off coupon for the services for no reason which was nice. We came in and told them about a problem my car was experiencing and they fixed the issue with no problem and wasn't too expensive. $12/tire for tire balancing. The manager (didn't catch his name) was very friendly and had great customer service. :) We expected the car to be done around 2pm but we were called around 12:30 letting us know it was done. Super fast service, especially since I noticed it looked pretty busy in the shop. Only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because upon coming back to pick up the car, we walked into the office where the man at the desk was taking care of something first which was fine, and 3 people, I assume employees?, directly behind him in the office looked straight at us up and down and continued their conversation as we're just standing there. At this time I also noticed not once single person in the place was wearing a mask, which is disappointing because there's a sign outside the door saying to please have a mask on upon entering "for our safety".. but nobody's following their own safety guidelines. The manager who helped us only put on a mask to talk to us which at least was nice but aside from that, everybody should still be wearing one. read more

Brought my vehicle to this location because I had a flat they needed possible repair or replacement. It was one of the easiest and quickest interactions I have had dealing with a vehicle repair ever. I arrived a little before they opened (7am) and when they opened walked in and was greeted and promptly. To my surprise I had brought a vehicle to them before (still can't remember when or why). They pulled my information, asked what was the issue and quickly my car was in. Tire ended up being repairable; under $50. Now I say that but please note that every tire flat situation may be different so please take the price and time with a gently reference that your specific situation may take more time or cost more. Ultimately I was in and out in about 1 hour, friendly service, clean waiting area. Thank you read more
