NEVER again will I be a customer of this place. the "Manager" Tilly was the absolute worst! I had a 2:30pm appt for a tire change. After TWO HOURS of waiting, I was told that my tire was not even on the premises. After throwing a 10% discount for an off brand, non matching tire, I wait another HOUR for them to change the tire. Only to find out my car was finished and ready to go 30 minutes prior -- but nobody communicated that to me. When I explained my frustrations to Tilly, he literally spoke over me and responded with, "Lady just pay the bill and get out of my store. I don't want to hear your mouth anymore". If you think I am lying, PULL UP THE CAMERAS. He then stood there, not processing my payment. And when I told him I was needing to leave he threatened to call the police on me for walking out on a payment THAT HE WAS NOT PROCESSING. Then he literally just walked away, into the bays. It was the other Manager, Tony, that was the ONLY great thing about my experience. TONY deserves a raise, as he was what good customer service is all about. Needless to say, I will save the religious comment Tilly made for my letter to Corporate but I would be remiss if I did not warn others about Tilly. To the GM John A.--- please consider this review your heads up for the letter I will be sending to Corporate. You have a liability on your hands with that man. Oil change turned into a nightmare I went to Mavis Tire & Brakes in Ocoee for a simple oil change. My car was running when I arrived. Immediately after the service, the car smelled like burning oil, started smoking, and stalled. I brought it back right away. The shop replaced a valve cover gasket "for free," which tells me something went wrong during their work. After that repair, the car would not stay running at all and made loud exhaust-type noises that were never there before. Instead of helping, I was told I didn't know what I was talking about, spoken down to by three male employees, and told the issue is now a "tune-up" and not their responsibility. They also entered false notes in their system about a conversation that never happened and then refused further help. I've been using Mavis Tires on W. Colonial every since it replaced the previous Mr. Tire and I've been very satisfied with the overall experience so far. I've had my Cadillac and Mercedes tires serviced there and I've had zero complaints. Sometimes the business is very high and there can be a potential wait so I'll typically do an early morning drop off when the business volume is high. But the staff has always been very pleasurable to work with and they've done their best to provide the best service from my personal experience. Tire prices are typically the same as other places but I applied and received their Mavis Card which makes it easier when I have to replace a set of tires. Total Rip off joint!! They also use scare tactics to get you to spend more. They charged 2x the price of the actual part. They changed an alternator in car. My car is 14yrs old with 269,000 miles. They never gave a choice of a new Alternator or a refurbished Alternator. The manager Woody never gave me a choice. I had a refurbished alternator in the car for the last 8yrs. So of course Woody choose to put in a new alternator costing $793. It is a car quest brand alternator. You can buy 1 at Advanced auto for $399 for there top of the line one. (I am sure that is not what was put in.) So it was marked up double the price or more. Insane pricing or price gouging at its best. Don't get caught up in there tangled web of deceit. Call around first for other quotes don't get ripped off at this shop. The most the whole job should have cost is $650. Buyer beware!!! read more

High Priced Hacks !! Stay away! - I brought my car in to this location a few weeks ago for a nail in the tire . - Unfortunately the nail was in the outside tread block and so was against most shops policy to repair , but i took a chance to see if they could help. - Mavis was no exception here and recommended new replacement tires. - the technician also correctly recommended new brake pads and rotors for all 4 wheels due to age and wear. This is where it gets bad. - i declined the tires because i wanted to do research on which models i wanted before dropping roughly 1k on new ones. I did not like the current tires i had and wanted to choose something different. The air pressure was holding on the damaged tire so i asked the salesman to give me his recommendations and i would return to do the service once i had made a choice. He asked me to come look at the brakes with him and he let go of the wheel/ tire dropping it on the wheel face and chipping the paint.. oh well i thought honest mistake and not really a big deal to me. I never said anything about it. - he "quoted" off the top of his head what seemed like vague prices of $250 a wheel for new brakes service. another $1k . i was now being recommended $2k in repairs because i asked them to look at a nail in my tire. i said no thank you to the brake repair, as i am capable of changing the brakes myself without problem (those prices for brakes are just insane when you are capable yourself) - the salesman agreed but refused to give me a written estimate for anything he wanted to sell me. - as i was talking with him i hear the very distinct sound of an air impact driver bottoming out on a nut for over 1 min straight .. i think not much of it as the shop was packed with cars . could have been anything i thought. - well turns out the mechanic had intentionally cross threaded the wheel studs when he bolted the wheels back on my car. i know what you may be thinking , honest mistake it can happen anytime. but he drove the nuts down so long and over torqued them so much the good ones were almost impossible to remove and the damaged ones were pushed on so hard that the wheel stud broke in half after driving . that does not happen even by accident without knowing. he either did it intentionally out of retaliation or drove the nuts down knowing it was damaged and hid it . just childish either way .. people could have been seriously injured if my wheel studs broke and my wheel came off while driving they may have actually have had my business on a new set of tires and an alignment, but after that behavior from the salesman and the tech , Mavis will never get another second of my time . This is not the first time they have done similar "work" for me or my friends / family. My advice: Stay away and take your business to locals or mobile mechanics who value and respect your time . Don't give your money to these chain shops staffed by disrespecting man- children . read more

I was told there 'only two tickets ahead of us but it won't be long' An hour and ten minutes later, our car was still in the in the parking lot! when I asked for my keys, thats when the young man offered to ACTUALLY change our tire! They also had no air conditioning in the waiting room but I could feel a cool breeze coming from the garage! I discovered that I had a nail in my tire on a Saturday morning. It was slowly leaking air because the pressure was a bit lower than the other tires. I tried going to the Action Gator closest to my house, which was in Hamlin. They were insanely busy (of course) and couldn't help me out at all that day. We called the Ocoee store and they could take me in right away. Yay! Everyone was super friendly and helpful there when I checked in my car. I also asked that they fill up all my tires since I knew they all needed a little bit of air. They told me it would probably be about an hour (maybe two max) to repair it. Actually, that was even better than I was anticipating! A little while later, I received a phone call from the Ocoee store. They informed me that the technician recommended new rear brakes. I hadn't noticed a problem with my brakes, but I after checking online for my car's age and mileage, it was possible that it was due for new brakes. So I took their word for it and said to go ahead and replace them. A short time later, I received another phone call from them saying that the technician told them about the wrong car and my brakes were fine. I was actually relieved and appreciated their honesty. An hour or so later, I received another call that my car was ready for pick-up and the tire had been repaired. I started up my car and noticed that the readings on my tires for the three good tires were still the same, and the repaired one was down to 13 PSI. I thought that the sensor just hadn't registered it correctly yet, so I stayed in the parking lot for a bit and then drove it around the parking lot. It didn't change. I went back inside and asked about it. They had me immediately pull the car up for air. Apparently, nobody filled my tires with air at all! Even the repaired one that was desperately in need of it. It was a little alarming, but probably an honest oversight. I'm just glad I didn't try to venture home like that. Even though there were a few mishaps on my adventure, I would still return to this particular Action Gator. They did a great job overall, got in me in quickly on a Saturday, and were friendly and attentive. Most of all, it was their honesty about the flubs that won me over. This is the second time I have gone here for my car and I would recommend it to anyone! All the people that work here are always so kind and helpful, and it never feels like they are trying to get more money from you. I just did my oil change and it was around $80 for synthetic oil, and they also checked my breaks and tires for free! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I really think they need a counter person to help them out in the front of the shop. There were 2 people in front of me in line that have been waiting when I arrived and it seemed like all the workers were working hard on cars so they were busy. I think it would be really nice if they had a counter person just to help out with customer service while they are hard at work. Had a good experience with Action Gator Tire today for my oil change and tire balancing. We called beforehand to compare prices with other stores, and they had the best price and by far were the most friendly. They tagged on a $10 off coupon for the services for no reason which was nice. We came in and told them about a problem my car was experiencing and they fixed the issue with no problem and wasn't too expensive. $12/tire for tire balancing. The manager (didn't catch his name) was very friendly and had great customer service. :) We expected the car to be done around 2pm but we were called around 12:30 letting us know it was done. Super fast service, especially since I noticed it looked pretty busy in the shop. Only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because upon coming back to pick up the car, we walked into the office where the man at the desk was taking care of something first which was fine, and 3 people, I assume employees?, directly behind him in the office looked straight at us up and down and continued their conversation as we're just standing there. At this time I also noticed not once single person in the place was wearing a mask, which is disappointing because there's a sign outside the door saying to please have a mask on upon entering "for our safety".. but nobody's following their own safety guidelines. I arrived a little before they opened (7am) and when they opened walked in and was greeted and promptly. To my surprise I had brought a vehicle to them before (still can't remember when or why). Made a same day appt to patch a tire since I ran over a screw and had to be at the airport in a few hours, got to my appointment and they said their computers booked 5 other people at the same time and it would take them over 2 hours to patch the tire, which is a 20 minute job. No apology or remorse or understanding from staff that I needed to catch a flight and couldn't wait two hours after I did the right thing and made an appt. I brought my car and finish dropping it off at 1:22 pm.(Mind you all my service was replacing my rear passenger wheel tire and replacing the tire on a spare) I then asked the employee roughly how long would it take til it's done; he checks the bay and says about 1-2 hours it is now 5:46(they close at 6) and my car hasn't entered the bay yet. Literally incompetent. Came here to get my tire changed because there was a visible nail in the tire. Dropped off it and they called back to say it was finished. When I came back to my place I checked out the tires. Nail was still lodged into the tire. They changed the wrong tire. I couldn't go back myself so my girlfriend takes the car back to get the correct tire changed. I check the tire that night. GUESS WHAT? THE NAIL IS STILL THERE. I call back and I tell them they changed the wrong tire again because I STILL see the nail in the tire. All I'm responded with is laughter and "oh wow I've never had to change a tire three times before". At this point it's late afternoon and I have too take it in the next day. I feel as though I need to put a "Do not operate" sticker on all the rest of my tires like doctors do in surgery. So if you're only getting one tire make sure you hammer into their head which tire you need serviced. Apparently saying front driver tire isn't specific enough for them. read more

Made an appointment for 10 AM to get front and rear brake service on an F-150 truck. 2 1/2 hours later, the shop calls and asks if I have a special key for the lug nuts to remove the wheels. I've had the truck serviced many places and nobody has ever asked for a special lug nut key for the wheels. Why even make an appointment if it's almost 3 hours before your vehicle is even looked at! This could've all been avoided if the service employee asked or looked at the wheels when he checked me in, inspected the vehicle, and took my key. The shop manager showed me a lug nut tool that would've possibly worked (?) but said it was cracked and couldn't do the job. I got a few shoulder shrugs, a sorry, and confused looks. I would give ZERO stars if I could... My husband and I noticed a screw in one of our rear tires late Saturday. With our normal auto shop not open on Sunday, we took the vehicle to Action Gator Tire to see if patching the tire was possible? Sunday morning about 30 minutes after we dropped of the car, we get a phone call that the tire cannot be patched and we would need to replace the tire. The quote for just one tire alone was $140ish. This cost I am sure did not cover labor and other fees. Well the tire was not losing air pressure, so I decided to hold off and just take my vehicle to our normal shop Monday morning. It is where we get the car serviced regularly, so if I am going to replace tires, I would just rather go there. Especially because to me it made more sense to replace 2 tires instead of just the one. Try to keep the wear patterns the same for that set. Here is the crazy part. After going to the other shop, they actually could not find any screw. I guess in the time between going to Action Gator and going to our other shop, it had somehow worked itself out. Keep in mind, the tire still never lost any air pressure. The shop pulled down both rear tires and inspected them inside and out. Nothing was wrong. The tire that did have the screw because my husband and I both physically had eyes on it at one point was completely fine and holding air once the shop put it back in place. How can a shop like Action Gator Tire treat their customers or potential customers in this manner? Not only did they say the tire was damaged beyond repair... but for my logic of possibly getting 2 tires instead of just one; they potentially could have scammed me out of at least $300?? I am still in shock. So glad, I had the sense to wait and get a second opinion. read more
