My son purchased a battery on May 2023 and bought the one they recommended. They gave him 3 options and he went with the least expensive Die Hard. Since the purchase, we have replaced the battery 4 times. Every other month the battery dies. In May 2024, the one year warranty expired and they sold him the same battery. The battery lasted less than 1 month and it died once again. My son is now in college and needs a car since he is living off campus. I went in to exchange the battery for a better once since I cannot be there to help him if the battery dies. As a side note, I had the car towed to my mechanic and he showed me it was a bad battery. Upon showing that to the staff at AAP, they proceeded to tell me it was my fault for buying a cheap battery. My response was that my son would not have bought a battery they didn't recommend that particular battery. No accountability from the manager and it was by far one of my worst experiences as a customer. I had the truck towed in to my mechanic to confirm it was the battery and NOT my alternator. Update: I called the corporate office and the customer service agent mentioned someone would reach out to me in 24 hours. I received a call the following day from the store manager and he resolved the issue by giving me credit towards the new battery. Well done! read more

My battery was not working properly and I need to change that battery and get a new one. I was happy to find out that Advance Auto parts could do the installation, take the old battery and give me warranty. Unfortunately calling others location they told me that they don't install battery and that the don't install battery for this type of car. It's complicated. I keep researching and find out a battery and it was Advance Auto parts in another location. I went inside and ask for guidance. Orlando was knowledgeable, helpful and find a new battery for my car. As it happens I'm in the lot next door to the Advanced Auto Parts at Babies R Us and hubs and I have spent all but 5 minutes inside before my newborn needs another feeding. I go back to the car to start the car up and the battery is dead! We didn't get a warning at all. Not even a jump from a friendly passerby helped. It's 8:05pm and there Advanced Auto closed at 8pm. We get permission to leave the car in the lot overnight and hubster goes into mechanic mode during his lunch break to replace the battery. He takes the old battery out which is exactly three years old and brings it inside the AAP store where he receives a battery test. (Hubby has the good sense to watch a YouTube video on battery replacement before beginning). Our normal Cold Cranking Amps is 745 but the test is only showing 336! The old battery also shows white corrosion on the positive (red) terminal post, another sign of a bad battery. Batteries have gotten much more expensive. We were offered two plans: 2 year or 3 year warranty. A free replacement within this period if you don't loose your receipt! A picture of the receipt is also fine. Once the battery was reinstalled the car started right up. Voila. While this was a minor annoyance these things happen. I hope nothing else is wrong with the car. I received decent service here and was pleased with the outcome. Super convenient my car broke down at Babies R Us and they happened to be next door. read more

We ran into a little bit of trouble with our car battery doing an errand at Babies R Us. Thankfully Advanced Auto Parts (AAP) was right next door, but unfortunately they had closed minutes before our battery issue. We left the car overnight and I put on my mechanics hat during my lunch hour. Someone offered to jump my car but to no avail. Did you know which terminal post to remove from your car battery first ? Ground (black) first then Positive and when placing the battery back in the car do the reverse order. Anyway, once I got the car battery out it was just a matter of walking it over to AAP where they had a nifty battery tester which spit out a report indicating my Duracell Battery was definitely not generating the Cold Cranking Amps needed to turn the engine. Only 336 compared to the 745 on the label. AAP sold me a battery with tax for $137 with a 3 year free replacement warranty so long as I keep this receipt and if I took a picture of it they would still honor the agreement. I paid about this at Sears when I had my Civic's battery replaced. The service is good and once I put the new battery the car it started up again. Hope this one will last 3 years. read more

Today november 16, i jumped my battey because its empty so i went there for a replacement, couldn't do anything.. but they said my warranty expired.. and they couldn't do anything even to lower the price.. Well... I guess when you've got all that you know you can provide to a customer in a certain mile radius its okay to ignore them until you see fit. Went in here today with my bro looking for a special rust remover that wouldn't damage chrome. We had gone to Ace but they didn't have anything that specific so we figured Advance Auto would be our next best bet. When we walked in, there was a cashier tending to a man and his kids, an old man who I guess was the "tire specialist" in the counter on the back helping some other dude, and what seemed to be a manager chatting away with his buddies about soccer. Instead of interrupting the conversation, we attempted to look for the stuff ourselves to no avail. This is where it got fun, every time we tried to approach one of the three employees, they would turn around and start doing something else. Finally, after the manager decided to stop chit chatting and after we had waited in line for the cashier to get their full attention, he directed us toward a can of specialized chrome polish. I cant complain, when we got home and put it to work, it did wonders with a bike that had been sitting in our garage untouched for over 3 years. But really, next time instead of spending the 30 minutes we did, it'd be nice if they could be more helpful so it cuts down to the 5 minutes that it should've. read more

I recently purchased a car battery from this Advanced Auto. The reason why I chose this store is because it was on the way home from work, I was short on time and they advertise free installation with battery purchase. I order the battery online for pickup, I got to the store, the battery was ready and the gentlemen at the register was polite. He tested my old battery and confirmed I needed a new one. He told me to leave the hood open and then went back inside to call the tech to install the new one. The tech walked half way out the door, took a split second glimpse at my car and said "no we can't install, its too complicated". I told the gentlemen behind the counter that the reason I chose Advance (and pay $40 more than where I usually go) is because i was in a time pinch and needed installation. He told me my car requires "professional installation" (don't these guys get paid and advertise free installation, making them professionals?). Again I was in a pinch and just left. What made it too complicated? The GMC Terrain has a metal plate above the battery that is attached by one bolt. Once removed, it is a typical battery bracket. I changed the battery myself twice before. Needless to say, I rushed home (because of time) and had to do it myself again (took 15 minutes, doesn't sound too complicated?) After talking to a colleague, he said he had a similar experience. I understand that some battery locations may be truly "complicated", but this installation required one extra step above a typical installation. It appears it was just a matter of laziness that I dropped an extra $40 for. read more

Worst service I received, bought a battery back in September and ever since I bought the battery it would lose charge. Took the car to a mechanic and had the charging system checked and checked for any draws. Mechanic told me the car was good that it was the battery. Came back to this store and they placed it to charge and they said it was good the next day the battery lost charge. Once again I returned and they told me the same thing. Unable to resolve my issue and help me knowing the battery has a two year warranty they refused to replace the battery because their tester suggested the battery needed a charge. I will never return to this store for the service I received or buy their products. read more
