Went in today to have my battery replaced. Was forwarded to a young pregnant girl with cornrows (Adriana, Adjanna...something along those lines), who briefly summarized the different battery costs. Could barely understand her...her English was mostly broken. She then started inputting my name into the system for the warranty without my consent. I politely asked her to slow down because I had some questions regarding the different types of batteries, the best ones for your buck, etc., and she suddenly proceeded to start yelling. I know it sounds unbelievable, but I've never seen anything like it - almost like another entity took over her. When I calmy asked her what was wrong, and reminded her that I simply wanted to know about the pricing, she literally shouted, "I can't help you!!! Ask this next gentleman to help you!!!" and stormed off to the back. She totally abandoned the computer and left the warranty information halfway completed right there on the screen. I've never seen an employee snap like a loose canon. Luckily, another gentleman witnessed the entire encounter and said, "I'll help you, miss." However, my mind couldn't shake what happened. I finally decided to ask her later, "Miss, what exactly is going on? Did I do something wrong by asking you about the battery? Are you okay?" Like, I seriously wanted to know. She then mumbled something and waved it off. I finally came to this wonderful conclusion:
You know what, Autozone? Someone in PR or customer service needs to synthesize the number of complaints for this particular location and take action. Your employees are rude, and there are a whole lot of "auto" stores out there who guide themselves by humility and a general need to serve the public with well-trained customer service.
Word to prospective customers: Save yourself the trouble and stay away.... read more
