I've spent tens of thousands (ASE master certified mechanic) with Miele, until they changed hands. Twice. It was Auto Plus for a while, now it's FactoryMotorParts or some horsefeathers. They don't stock, and cannot easily get, common parts. You think them boys were rude before? Yikes. They won't honor warranties from any of the previous business names either. Do yourself a HUGE favor and go to Advance or Autozone. Better yet, online with Rock Auto. For specialty stuff deal with Carquest/P&A in Park Ridge. Just don't go to the dead corpse of "Mieleap" .... Sad times at Mavis when their customer service is in the toilet and it is coming from the top. This is clearly a systemic issues. I'd advise anyone to look elsewhere. ************** I very rarely write reviews like this, but after what I experienced at the Mavis Discount Tire on Franklin Avenue in Ridgewood, NJ, I feel people genuinely need to know before trusting this location with their vehicle. About two years ago, I brought my car there for major work: brakes, rotors, tires, and balancing. It was expensive, but I expected the car to leave operating properly. It did not. Immediately after getting the car back, the steering wheel would shake VIOLENTLY whenever I applied the brakes. This was not a minor vibration. Something was clearly wrong. I returned the following week after already spending more than FIVE HOURS there during the original visit. I waited another TWO HOURS while they supposedly made corrections. The problem came back almost immediately. I returned yet again and spent approximately ANOTHER FIVE HOURS there, only to be told more brake work was needed. The car was never right after their work. At the time, I had too many things going on personally to continue spending entire days sitting in a tire shop fighting over repairs I had already paid substantial money for, so unfortunately I lived with the problem. Fast-forward about TWO YEARS. During that entire time, I drove the car only around 3,500 miles. I recently brought the vehicle to another nearby Mavis location. After inspecting the car and reviewing the company's computer records, I was told something that absolutely shocked me. According to the employees at the other Mavis, the Franklin Avenue Ridgewood location had installed the WRONG brake pads and rotors on my vehicle. I was also told their system indicated that the rotors had not actually been replaced the way I had previously been led to believe. They further explained that the incorrect brake components were now damaged. That is what makes this so upsetting. I paid a substantial amount of money. I returned multiple times because the car was clearly not right. I spent roughly 12 HOURS total waiting through these visits. I repeatedly complained about severe shaking while braking, and yet the problem was never properly corrected. Mistakes can happen. What I cannot accept is repeatedly bringing a vehicle back, explaining that something is seriously wrong, being told work was performed or corrected, and then learning years later from another location within the same company that the wrong parts were apparently installed in the first place. Brakes are not cosmetic. They are one of the most important safety systems on a vehicle. Based on my personal experience, I would NEVER bring another vehicle to the Mavis Discount Tire on Franklin Avenue in Ridgewood. Not for brakes. Not for tires. Not for an alignment. Nothing. I cannot speak for every Mavis. In fact, another Mavis location is the one that finally helped identify what appears to have gone wrong. But I can absolutely speak about my experience at the Franklin Avenue location. I would not go back. I would not recommend it to family or friends. And if you have had work done there and your vehicle does not feel right afterward, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion rather than simply accepting that everything is fine. Since it is my brother's first car (I am a Jeep guy) we thought it would be best to get coverages for peace of mind on a $60k car. So we maxed out the warranties and Donovan put us at ease in regards to this investment and we were good with it. He really did a great job of positioning the warranties considering things that happen along your car's ownership journey. I have went through some of the mechanical and cosmetic concerns over the years so buying the mechanical and cosmetic warranties was a no brainer - I generally get warranties on my higher end cars. Well done Donovan! That was it! We paid cash for everything and we drove it away. Huge shout out to Willy, Chris, Donovan and the team at Ramsey Mazda for an EXCELLENT buying experience! Best Buy was inexpensive but bad reviews and only install their cameras. Not great feedback with install issues too. Other local auto electronics/performance shops wanted way too much for the install. $300 - $500+ to install. I even found the manufacturer of the camera system that I wanted to purchase had a local office and offered installation of their dash cams. But they couldn't install in my 2024 Honda Accord because my car was too new and they didn't have some of the needed wiring for new models. They could do it next year. I found Model Electronics after some searching. It is 25 minutes from where I live but local options in Hackensack/Paramus area did not work for me. I contacted via email and scheduled the install with Andy. Super easy. Installation is fantastic! Super happy with the results. No visible wires anywhere. Hard wired install. Great job all around. Came back a month later to get the same dual dash cam system installed in my Dad's Subaru. He is very happy with the install. Looks great. Charged a fair price to install in my opinion.
