Scam-esque. I wont speak for all employees, but this was my experience. I came here this past week for a flat tire. I was informed that i would have to replace the tire because the screw was too close the tire wall and quoted me $466 for ONE tire. I agreed because it was an emergency situation and I have 2 small children in the car, but I decided to cancel since the price seemed really high and take the car back just in case i have a warranty with my dealer. The screw was found to be in the CENTER of the wheel, and could have been resolved with a simple plug. They pretty much lied. Do not go here. read more

Very rude service. I made an appointment to have 4 new tires installed and I told them I had to wait for my car. I made the appointment for 11am 2 days in advance and I got there 45 minutes early. They didn't start working on my car until 11:50. They didn't tell me they were running behind. They just let me wait. Also very rude like they just didn't care. The tires came from Tire Rack so I reported this Firestone repair center to Tire Rack. I hope they drop this location. read more

They're online appointment booking system does not synchronize with the location system. That's why I initially called them to confirm the appointment made online. Poor customer service at Firestone Hackensack I give Firestone Hackensack one star out of five for their customer service. I had an appointment at 7 am, but I was still told that I had to wait for another car to be serviced first. The employee who attended me was the only one working there, and he was very lazy and rude. He did not wear a name tag, and he smirked at me in a condescending way. He did not care about my time or my needs. He made me feel unwelcome and unimportant. To make matters worse, I waited for over three hours and no one came to at least let me know how long it would take. I was completely ignored and neglected. I overheard the employee giving different names over the phone, so I don't even know his real name. Was it Christian, John, or Randy? He was clearly lying and trying to avoid accountability. I was very upset that I wasted more than three hours of my time. Why did I make an appointment if they were not going to honor it? I don't think changing two tires should take this long. It was a simple and straightforward service that they failed to deliver. Firestone Hackensack needs to improve their customer service urgently. They need to train their staff to be more respectful and professional. They need to update their online system to reflect the actual availability and priority of their appointments. They need to apologize and compensate their customers who have been mistreated and inconvenienced by their poor service. I hope that Firestone Hackensack will take this review seriously and make the necessary changes to improve their customer service. Otherwise, they will lose more customers like me. read more

Last night I was informed the work done to my car would be $1000. I went in today to pick up my car and it was then informed it would be $2080. How does this happen? Completely outrageous. A car place put BRAKES on wrong. Almost $1,000 later and the brakes were making noises. Every time I went back to get them to fix it, they were "too busy" even though I had an appointment. Finally, they look at their mistake and tell me they need 500 more dollars to do the calibers. Went to different mechanic and he said they ere just lazy and installed the brakes incorrectly. Store Manager never called back until I disputed the charge of course. He said they can give me store credit! What a joke! This Firestone should be shut down! The work they do here is ok, the same as any other repair shop... The prices are what you would expect (Too High)... The reason for the 2 stars is because an appointment at this place means nothing... My appointment was for 4:30pm, I arrived at 4:25pm, I was seen at the counter by 4:30pm... Fast-forward one hour to 5:30pm and my car is still in the same spot as I parked it... I wait until 5:45pm to inquire as to why my car hasn't moved... I got a response that my car was next... "NEXT" I had an appointment for 4:30pm and there's more than one service technician??? I'm confused... Finally at 6:10pm my car is taken into the garage for service... One hour later my car is ready... Problem, almost three hours in this place and my service was to have a tire and wiper blades replaced... So a 15min job takes three hours with an appointment... John said I was up next and it was going to be done within the hour, I said fine. It is now 2.5 hours later and I am still waiting while writing this review lol. Kudos to manager Christian for going above and beyond the norm, after we had a recent blowout during a rainstorm, were driving on the tire's rim in an emergency situation, and pulled into the Hackensack Firestone's parking lot after they had apparently just closed for the night. Although I had been a customer for oil changes on a previous vehicle, I hadn't been to Firestone for some time, so Christian didn't know me, and I had never met him before. However, it wasn't about selling us anything. Christian was genuinely concerned about our safety, and the horrible situation we were in. So he immediately proceeded to remove the damaged tire and wheel, checked the pressure and integrity of the donut spare, and installed the donut so that we could get back on the road, grab a late dinner, and get the vehicle safely parked for the night. Given the nasty storm, I should add that Christian didn't hesitate for a second to provide 5-Star assistance, despite getting wet from the soaking rain. At a time when great customer service is often MIA, this manager and Firestone location epitomizes what it's all about---treating the public as if they were friends or family. Thank you, Christian! This place requires basic customer service training. I was looking to drop off my vehicle for regular periodic maintenance. The associate on the line was rude, and very short with his answers but quick to cut me off on my questions. The associate also abruptly hung up on me. I wouldn't go back here if they paid ME to worked on my car. I dropped my car off for tire mounting, balancing, and an alignment. I brought tires in from tire rack, I don't know if that's why I got the terrible costumer service. When I handed over my car it had all four valve stem caps, when I got it back with new tires on there were none. I guess they couldn't be bothered. My steering wheel is slightly off when traveling straight after the alignment was done. That means the wheel wasn't completely straightened when the alignment was performed. Again, sloppy work. After noticing these things when I got home I decided to check if my wheel lock key was put back in the correct location. After searching the whole car I could not find it anywhere. For those who do not know it's a wheel nut/bolt that has been be taken off with a special key. It's used to make it harder to steal wheels. I called the next morning to ask about my wheel lock key because when I realized it was missing the place was already closed. I was told the technician is off and his tool box is locked so they cannot check. The second day I spoke to the manager, George, who told me he will send a message to the tech, he was off again, and call me back with any info, that was 9am. He never called me back, I called him back around 2 pm to ask what was going on and he said, I told you I'll call you tomorrow when the tech gets here, first thing in the morning. On the third day, he never calls me, so I call at 1.30pm and he said they found it, he tells me again, I told you I'll call you. So during this whole 3 day exchange the manager acted as if I was inconveniencing him and never an apology for anything. Meanwhile I was the one inconvenienced, if my wife got a flat in those three days the only option would be to tow the vehicle. read more

Today I went there for a slow leak in my tire. I made an appointment for 2:30 and arrived on time. My car sat in the lot until 3:00. It was moved into a bay and was worked on for 30 minutes. At 3:30 I was told my tire could not be repaired and I needed to buy a new tire. My gut said this wasn't right. I complained to the clerk that I made an appointment & wait 30 minutes without explanation. The clerk looked at me like I took him something new. I told him to put my tire back on, I was leaving. Right after that I went to Franks Auto Tech in Maywood. Within 45 minutes he found a nail in my tire & repaired it. Like any auto repair shops, you're going to have a hit or miss. It's my third time here and I'm satisfied with the service. I don't make an appointment and they still manage to get me out in a decent time. They are good at fixing anything that didn't meet your expectations. If you come in the afternoons without an appointment, prepare to be rejected. This place gets packed. read more

I book an early morning appointment for tire rotation and I ask what time I can pick up my car when I dropped off my car. I wanted to wait since it shouldn't take long for a tire rotation. George rudely responds with your car will be ready when it's ready. We will get to it when we get to it. Then why book an appointment for a specific time?? A tire rotation shouldn't take all day. I need the car to go to work at least the next day and I can't sit there the whole day waiting for the tire rotation. It feels like Firestone sells you on these lifetime warranty service but have no intention of honoring it by making it as difficult as possible to get the service. read more

It was a Saturday, and they told me it should be ready by 1/2(dropped off at 9 with an appointment) but they will call. No phone call and when I called they just closed. I said it was absurd that it takes a day to do the 2 things with an appointment and no call! I was told they left a voicemail (false) and the service writer will speak to the associate. I had been a loyal customer of Firestone in Hackensack for years. I called and made an appointment for an oil change and when I dropped off my car they said it would be about an hour. So, I said that I will return at that time. When I came back for my car about an hour and a half later, they said they had not started work on my car. I received no phone call about this at all. I'm writing this review because the survey Firestone sent expired. I had my car towed to Firestone around 10am because there was a huge screw in one of my tires. I went home to wait for a call after they assess my car. They called me at 12:22pm, which I expected because I didn't have an appointment. Besides changing the tire, they offered either a one time charge of $89.99 for the wheel alignment or the lifetime option for $179.99. I informed them that I had purchased the latter last year. Then the rep said "Oh yeah I see it here." I can't help but think: if I didn't remember or mention it would they have charged me again? When it was 3pm and no call, I called. My car was ready and they apologized because they thought a rep called me about it. The price was very reasonable because my tire was still under warranty. read more

I walked in to get a tire patched yesterday because there was a nail in it. The service manager was professional, clear, respectful, and friendly. He walked out to my car with me to view the tire before committing to what kind of repair I could expect. Then, he set realistic expectations as to how the team would be fixing the tire, how long it would take, and he kept me updated throughout the process. The repair work itself was high-quality at a reasonable price. The waiting area is no-frills -- but clean and comfortable with a TV, Keurig coffee machine, and plenty of seating. I will be back! DO NOT GO HERE!! They our simply con artist. Got a brake job done they installed the pads and rotor incorrectly, made 3 appointments to get the brakes installed correctly two of the appointments they refused to do the work because there two busy and the third time they took a extra day and then claimed the caliber was bad. I declined the caliber brought it to another mechanic and he stated the calibers are fine and the rotors were installed incorrectly. I've been on the phone with corporate and they instructed the area manager to reach out to me 3 times and he keeps failing to do so. Thank got for Chase bank credit disputed transaction claim is the only way to get my money money back. Just as the comment before Juror aka as Jonathan was main person I was dealing with definitely a shady person. To sum up they don't know what there doing and will up charge you for unnecessary repairs to cover up there mistakes. They don't even know how to install brakes. read more

The worst part of the place is listening to the staff literally yell at their customers over the phone and in person. I think they need to hire someone who specializes in customer service. Went in after I blew my tire on the highway. Originally started off great, counter person was quick and friendly and gave me an estimated time of 2 hours for a tire change. I left and came back after 2 hours for them to not have even gotten the tire yet. The guy arrives with my tire, but still doesn't bring my car in for another hour and half. Service is horrible. If you make an appointment don't think you will get out soon because it means nothing. I've made appointments many times and still every time I somehow manage to sit there for 3-4 hrs waiting for my service to be done which is either getting an oil change or even just something simple like to check why my tire pressure light is on. Every time I go they always tell me something is wrong with my car and I have to spend a couple hundred dollars to fix it but I never do the fix cause the prices are ridiculous. read more

This is the worst service station I have ever been to. Not only are they misleading with their words, they don't own up to what they say in person and on the phone change what they have to say because they know they are being recorded. I went in for a simple oil change, and as someone who doesn't know about cars asked if they do state inspections. I was told no but they could check my car to make sure I would pass state inspection. Great! No, I was stupid for mentioning it. I get a call 45 minutes later telling me I need $700 worth of work done, I ask what I really need done to pass inspection and they drop the price down to $450. I say ok because I dont know better but have a terrible feeling that I am being played, so I call back 10 minutes later and tell them I don't want anything but Oil Change. They say they already did some of the work but they wouldn't charge me for tire rotation. I go in to pick up car and am charged $100 more than the basic oil change. I will pay for the work I approved but f this place NEVER go here, I want my $61 back. read more

Brought my car here for a wheel alignment and opted to sign up for the lifetime wheel alignment plan. A one-time alignment costs $80 before tax/fees, so paying $200 for the lifetime alignment made sense for me since I own my car. Upon walking in, I was quickly greeted by Anthony. He was able to honor my appointment that I made online and told me to grab some coffee while I waited. He was sure to tell me that the remote to change the channel was right next to the cable box in case I wanted to watch something else. He made me feel very comfortable while I waited for my car to be serviced. I was estimated 1.5 hours to wait, but ended up waiting 2 hours because my alignment was being stubborn. Anthony came over to let me know that there was a hold up and assured me that they were working hard to get me out as soon as possible. I really appreciated him keeping me updated with the process. At this price point, I am pleased with the quality and speed of service I received, especially the great customer service by the staff. read more

Made an appointment online and went on time on a Saturday. They said they couldn't find my appointment in their system even when I showed the two emails, 1 when I made the appointment and the 2nd the confirmation email I received. So they basically said I have to wait 2 hours or more before they can take my car in. After standing there for a while, staring at the wall, the manager told the other person to just take my car in at the next available spot. Not a bad start. However, things started going worse from there. I went it for an oil change and transmission fluid change and that ended up costing me $329. There is no way these two services are this expensive. Charged me $220 for a transmission fluid change, when the average cost would be around $100-$150 max. There was a $20 charge for tire rotation when there is a sign on the desk saying its only $9.99, and when I asked they took of the extra $10. I think oil change was $28 plus $40 for air filter. Asked about brakes and they wanted $549 for a full front brake service - replacing front pads, rotors and brake fluid flush, when Meineke, Midas and a bunch of others quoted me $350-400. What a rip-off. Stay away from these guys. They are the most over priced auto repair in the whole area. read more

Replaced a new battery in 1 hr on a Sunday morning after making an appointment the night before online. John was very helpful in accommodating my vehicle and getting me out quickly. He also explained the options and provided a free battery check first to determine the exact issue. The tech was efficient and qualified. He even made sure the radio did not reset by entering the code from the glove compartment after installing the new battery. The only negative was that I could not find my initial receipt for when I purchased the battery and was not told that if I provided them with the receipt after the replacement of battery, I may be able to get a refund for the prorated life of battery left on warranty. I was told this by my mechanic. That being said, Charlie and Gilbert easily accommodated the refund after I faxed over the original receipt. Nice work firestone team. I recommend this location for service and good customer service (at least for battery replacement - I cannot speak to other services they provide) read more
