I would never go anywhere else!…read more I was having transmission issues with my 2011 Pathfinder including, trouble lights intermittently, getting stuck in 4WD, shifting issues, among others. I called Rich and he asked me to drop it off before he closed and he would check it out in the following day. He called the following day and informed me that he didn't find any problems operationally but, the computer wasn't cleared when the trouble lights previously were cleared. He then told me to come to pick it up and just let him know if anything happens in the future. When I went to get it, expecting to pay a few hundred for labor, he told me "no charge, just make sure to bring it back immediately if anything else goes wrong." Not only will I be back, but I recommend him to everyone that has transmission issues and tell them my story.

These are very talented people. Very honest and reliable. Their name fits them to a T. My work…read morewas done in 2004, and I sold my car in 2011. Transmission repair is such a crapshoot with the amount of grifters out there. I was recommended by a friend. He told me that this is the only place that he would trust to take his car for transmission work. I totally agree. I live in Manhattan and didn't think twice about taking my car out to Little Ferry, NJ for the rebuild. Heck, they are basically just over the George Washington Bridge. Rich even gave me a ride to the PATH Train, which was really going out of his way. What a great guy! I brought my 1991 Toyota there with it slipping badly. I have enough experience to know that it was the transmission, especially after 120,000 miles. Rich scheduled me for an appointment one week away and I dropped the car off. He didn't promise an exact date because things come up. I got the car back in a week and it was spectacular. Quality rebuilt the transmission and actually made it stronger. I drove the car for another 145,000 miles and the transmission performed like new. I was wowed. I tend to keep my cars a long time. If my current car ever needs transmission work, Quality will be the first place that I go...even for something as simple as a transmission oil change. A total pleasure to deal with.

A bunch of liars. BEWARE !!!…read more They didn't do a flush or properly do the flush. The trans fluid is not pink, but black (pink when fluid is new in W5A580 trans), the trans clunks under load on down shifts, pickup/shift is slow in 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears. They appear to swap junkyard stuff in your vehicle and take your factory transmission instead of rebuilding it as you pay for. My transmission went into their shop WITH the original dealer stamp containing the serial number and identification of my transmission. I spoke to the owner before taking my car over to his shop. He was fully understanding to the point of me requesting a full overhaul on my transmission. My transmission was not slipping or anything, but I knew a bearing was bad after seeing some needle bearing pieces when I lately changed the trans oil. After the shop installed the "rebuilt transmission". I checked and saw there were no stickers on the newly installed trans they put in. I inquired, and informed Rich Varjan (owner) this was not my trans which came out, he was disgruntled after I informed the dealer sticker is not on the trans they gave me which meant this was not what came out my vehicle. He then angrily said they put the one in that came out. This is a blatant lie because I went under my car and saw the original dealer stickers prior to having it in their shop. The vehicle was a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7L with a Chrysler W5A580 (Nag1). According to well known professional rebuilders the Sprinters and the Cherokee Laredo Nag1 transmission are not the same or FULLY interchangeable. Could it be that the shop put a Sprinter or another 722.6 variant in my vehicle? During the pickup where I paid $2600 to Rich Varjan, I asked what was wrong with my transmission and what was replaced (internally) that I would like to know. He informed he didn't know because one of his guys worked on it. The transmission on the vehicle is a W5A580 and it somehow seems they used a substitute (perhaps a W5A330 from a junkyard) because the vehicle is not running as it was before, it clunks on the drive train (did not do this when it was taken to the shop), sluggish on pickup shifting. The trans in the vehicle does not feel like a Chrysler W5A580 (Nag1) which came out my 2007 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. They are nice at the beginning when they want the business and tell you "don't worry". But now I'm worried $2600 later.

I have been dealing with Rich for several years. I have had about 10 transmissions rebuilt there. I…read morehave had issues with 1. Rich took care of it and in my opinion went above and beyond to do so. We recently installed a trans from a Dodge 1500 and it seems to be great. His pricing is excellent as well, far better than the 2 local shops I have tried which is why I go to him even though he is miles away.

If you're looking for an honest mechanic that actually cares, go see Tom…read more He's been in business at the same location for 48 years, and that alone says everything. In a world where it's hard to find trustworthy mechanics, Tom is the real deal; transparent, fair, and very knowledgeable. He recently replaced my radiator and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. He took the time to explain everything clearly, showed me what needed to be fixed, and gave honest pricing without trying to upsell unnecessary work. Next, I'll be bringing my car back for my inner tie rod because I genuinely trust his work. Another great thing is the location, you can easily take a quick Uber ($8) *minutes away to Riverside Square Mall (bring your laptop & do your work in Barnes & Noble) while your car is being worked on, which makes the experience super convenient. I love supporting mom & pop businesses, especially ones that have served the community for decades with integrity. You don't stay in business for nearly 50 years unless you treat people right. Highly recommend Tom for radiator work, mechanical repairs, maintenance, and honestly anything car related. Good mechanics are hard to find, great ones like Tom are rare.

Above all - the knowledge and experience you get with this shop. Tom is excellent at explaining things and not only went over all the details of my issue but also gave me some tips to try over the weekend before I brought my car in on a Monday morning. I can say 100% my knowledge level about my car's cooling system really improved and that will help me a lot in the future!! Top Notch for sure, thanks for everything Tom!!
