I really wanted to have a good experience here, but unfortunately, it was very frustrating. I brought my Jeep in for what I thought would be a straightforward repair, but the bill ended up being much higher than expected. Even worse, I had to bring the car back two more times because new issues kept coming up after the initial work. Each visit meant taking time off work and being without a car, which was very stressful. After spending so much time and still not having the problem fixed, I now have to find another shop to get things done right. My car is not old so these occurring issues seemed to start after their work on my car began. I had asked if there was anything else they could do to help with this inconvenience, but they were not willing to work with me. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for reliable service or fair pricing. read more

they charged me almost $500 total for a radiator replacement (the radiator itself should have cost below $100 they charged me $178). they did not call me to get the work approved OR have me sign any paper work. I had to call them, and when i did they were already done (still with no approval for any parts) the man working behind the counter was extraordinarily rude. i was told by someone that their prices are reasonable but this most certainly was unreasonable. i will not be returning. read more

Auto shops have always scare me. I feel like every time I go to one I'm going to lose my life savings specially when they see I am a girl --alone. Last December my car did not turn on and panic ensue. I called AAA and tow truck came to take my car- not having a mechanic I just let the driver pick my car's destination. It took a day to find out what was wrong with my car. ( they were busy- I guess I was not the only one with car trouble). While I waited for their call I was a nervous wreck imagining about the cost. Finally, I got the call about what was wrong with my car from their friendly receptionist. The cost- just labor and I got a discount for being a AAA member. I paid no more than $130. They could had charged so much more, my car is old and I was already expecting the worst. They could had told me I need it a new engine and I would had believe them. I been back twice- one for an engine light. They reset it without charging me. Then, for an oil change and check up. Each time the owner has come out to their well kept waiting room and told me what was wrong. They are friendly and I do not feel they will take advantage of my lack of knowledge about cars. They now have a customer for life. I know my lil Toyota Corolla is well taken care of when it's in their shop. read more

Honest and trustworthy!!! Many mechanic shops try to up sell their customers to make more $$$! Not this place! They truly care about their customers!!! I was told by an automotive service center chain that it would cost over $700 to replace my power steering reservoir and hoses. When I took my car to Hawthorne Auto Lab they charged me very little and fixed the problem without replacing anything! Long story short nothing needed to be replaced just adjusted! The owner is awesome! My 2014 jeep grand Cherokee had a noise coming out of the wheel. The jeep dealership wouldn't even look at it for me. I was concerned bc I had my 17 month old son with me and the dealership (Ramsey jeep) could care less about my situation. I called over to Hawthorne auto lab and the owner said come down I'll look at it right away for you. Sure enough, I arrived and waited 5 minutes. He confirmed my wheel bearing was going bad. I asked him to repair it and he said i can't do that to you. It is under warranty. Call a different dealership. To Top it off, he didn't even charge me. I will always refer and bring my car to him. This guy understands how to treat customers and is as honest as they come! I will refer everyone to him because of his actions to someone he didn't even know. It was my first time there! read more

I mistook this issue initially and had a windshield replaced, but the water was still coming through. Ripped me off on labor costs - $116 an hour, and didnt even do the job right. I was in a rush and didnt have time to argue so I footed the bill. They charged me $1000 and didnt actually fix the carburetor or the vaccum leaks. Had to take my van to another mechanic where they actually fixed em and ran a better diagnostic, identifying issues that these guys hadnt noticed. Maybe theyre not used to old carburated vehicles, but they should have said so instead of proceeding to charge an arm and a leg for half a job done right. read more

I found this auto shop by browsing the AAA website for reputable shops. I've been coming here for my oil changes for a few years now. Whenever I go here everyone is always so nice. My car is always finished in a timely manner. A few years ago they suggested that I replace my battery since my car was 6 years old. The price was fair and the work was done in a timely manner. Unlike dealership service centers, they don't try to make me "fix" issues that don't really need fixing. I have nothing bad to say about Hawthorne Auto Lab. read more
