It is one thing to screw a customer but then post an 'I'm sorry you are having trouble"? This business owner is clueless!!!! I guess he was unaware his worker ripped me off of my exhaust system and used parts from the junked car somewhere in his shop!! Yeah I'll believe that too!!!!! Completely incompetent technicians. Couldn't even correctly change the battery in my key, not to mention leaving oil below minimum level after charging over $200 for an oil change. Went for a test ride with Sal(the owner). He verified a metal on metal noise and said he would look into finding the root cause of the problem. Next day Sal says his technician cannot duplicate the noise and therefore we can all pretend we didn't hear anything . Stay as far away from this place as possible if you value your car. You will get scammed! read more

Very Happy with the service, Sal kept me in the loop thru out, excellent work and fair pricing, Will definitely return read more

Sal assisted me with inspecting a 2013 Lexus before I considered purchasing it while I was in a different state. He coordinated with the dealer to bring the car to his shop for the inspection and then return it back to the dealer. The price for the inspection was fair. Sal handled the inspection process personally and shared the results with me. Although there were a few details that were initially overlooked, Sal made sure to address them afterwards, discussing the necessary work and final costs directly with me. He is a skilled professional in his field. read more

This is a small shop specializing in high end imported cars. BMW, Mercedes Jaguar seem to be their specialty. Top quality work done and priced well compared to high end dealerships. The owner and staff are ethical and super friendly. They will do their best to repair a component rather than do an expensive replacement. They repaired a piece of leaking flexible exhaust pipe that was part of the catalytic converter assembly. The converter was fine. Saved me hundreds of dollars. Other shops would have just replaced the converter. I have been bringing my car and friends cars for years. I have never been dissatisfied. read more

BMW quoted me $3000 for this. Literally just a plastic piece of the bumper. It is a swappable part but BMW wanted to give me a whole new radiator, bumper, license plate, and wanted to paint it again. It literally made no sense. These guys got me going for $500. Professional and excellent. Only took 2 days and I was up to speed. When my warranty ends these guys will be my go to. Thank you Rennsport ! read more

Rennsport Motor Works - BMW damage - Auto Repair Near Me - Hackensack, New Jersey

Recently, i had my new F25 get an oil change just to take out the break in oil, so a bunch of friends of mine recommended this shop that specializes on BMWs and boy, Even though my friends dosent drive a bimmer, i figured out why they kept coming back to this place to get their car serviced. The owner of the Shop is Sal, he is a nice and kind guy, he doesn't pressure you to doing this the wrong way , he clearly thinks ahead that you would never have thought about except when its too late. So yea in short, he knows what he is doing. As my car was being in, i had a chance to talk to some of Sal's crew, while he was cleaning, asked him a question , then it turns out he answered almost 10 questions in one, i was amazed, not only he knows about cars, he also thinks highly of his boss. read more

I had my BMW 530xi serviced at Rennsport Motor works, specializing in repair and restoration of German cars contemporary and classic. Their service is known to be top notch and reasonably priced. They did not disappoint. Sal, who runs the shop came across as being honest and did not want to perform unnecessary service. I had soft brakes and thought that my front and brake pads might be worn and possibly the rotor. They determined that the rotors were fine and that only the back brake pads needed replacement. Will definitely use them in the future read more

I have been a customer since 2011 when I first heard of Rennsport. My 2001 Audi a6 2.7t Quattro is approaching 200k miles, and has been under Sal's care for the last 70k miles. I've had several issues resolved in a timely manner, estimates are always prompt and accurate. Sal never performs unnecessary work, and always gets to the source of the issue. Work performed includes oil and fluid changes, tire changes, check engine lights caused by faulty sensors, pumps, electric issues, and emission system faults. If I had gone to a dealer I would have been better off just buying a new car, but having used rennsport made the repairs affordable. Customer service is also 5 stars, prompt return of phone calls, white glove service, careful explanation of charges, and a very common sense methodical approach to mechanics. 70k miles of service and not one complaint. I've also referred a friend with a Saab who was told by the dealer she needed 10k in brake work. Sal took care of everything for a fraction of the price with genuine parts, and she is also very happy a year later. read more

I became acquainted with Rennsport when my 04 Audi S4 cabriolet was out of it's service plan and taking it to a dealer was cost prohibitive. The car was behaving strangely with a weird noise. I called the shop and got the owner, Sal. He was very knowledgeable and it came to light they have been in business for 31 years, it shows. Sal shoots you straight and gets it done without any extras. The care and attention that you get here is nothing like the transactional experience that you would have at a dealer, no sales pitch - just solution. I have to say the car rides like it is on rails since the guys at Rennsport have gotten ahold of it. Sal is very detail oriented and the work is nothing short of extraordinary. I have since been back for other repairs, an oil change, and a detail. All of which were done superbly. I had my rims refurbished by them and I got a call from Sal to tell me one of the tires looked a little sketchy and another he saw was patched, he told me to have another set sent to him and he would put them on. Great proactive maitenence when you would never have heard this at a shop, dealership, or tire store. I bring my car here for EVERYTHING! I don't think I can go anywhere else. When you see some of the gorgeous, vintage, and well maintained cars from the 60's, 70's, & 80's waiting to be picked up by thier owners it is a testament to the workmanship here. With these complex machines that doesn't happen by accident, in many cases it doesn't even happen by intention! My Audi at 9 years is nowhere close to what they have seen, work on, and maintian at Rennsport. They say German cars don't last, who are they anyway? They have obviously never heard of Rennsport. Call the Enterprise rent a car in Hackensack, tell them that you have your car at Rennsport and they will give you a shop rate and also pick you up at the shop and drop you off when it is done. TSome of the best days of owning my Audi are the days that end in Y and the day I found Rennsport. read more

Sal is awesome! I've got a 2010 Porsche Cayenne GTS out of warranty and needed a new serpentine belt, oil change, gas cover gaskets and other miscellaneous items repaired. I went to 2 Porsche dealerships and they quoted ridiculous amounts including work which was not necessary. I've finally found THE MECHANIC and will always bring my car here. Sal is very patient, old school and helpful in explaining you the problems. His prices are spot on. We should be supporting mom & pop shops which are going out of business because of big chains. Keep it up! read more

I cannot recommend Rennsport more highly. Finding an honest mechanic isn't easy. My BMW needed $6,600 worth of repairs according to my dealer. Sal had it done for $1,200. He's a mensch. Very happy and will definitely use Sal again. read more

Trustworthy, Honest, Knowledgeable, Fair. I have a 2001 Audi TT convert. The car was a electrical and computer horror. Before I found Rennsport I went to the dealer and sat in a nice chair, watched the big screen TV, had a double latte and a nice turkey wrap. Meanwhile I was being mugged in the back by the 20 something year old mechanic who wasn't sure which $1200 computer module he would plug in next see if that fixed the problem. Sal and Joel preformed a thorough diagnosis were able to troubleshoot and correct the problem. Car never ran better and I have enough money left to take my family of four to the Plaza for dinner. This shop is a hidden jewel and worth the wait' Although I miss the big screen and the Latte I can do without it for the money and time that I saved. read more

Brought my 2014 Mercedes C300 here for a regular annual service & was surprised to see the bill. This was probably the most affordable bill ever, and I was happy to see many other German cars in the garage. It gave me some sense of security that his team knows these cars well. I'd definitely go here again. read more

Not a good experience. My car had some problems in ignition and the check engine light was on. People in Rennsport checked it and told me I have to change igniton coil and spark plugs. $300 is gone, but the problem is still there. I took my car to them again. This time I was told the problem is the injector, and a new injector costs another few hundred dollars. Also they said they will contact me when injector is in store, but a few months passed, and no news at all. Finally I paid $300 and got nothing. read more

Rennsport is a great shop. Let me tell you about my experience. I have an MB and it needed to be serviced. The dealer wanted about 2200 for what I needed done. I refused to pay that, so I searched out locally owned German car mechanics and found Rennsport. Sal was very good, he never pushed me to make unneeded repairs, he simply pointed out the issues. The work was done flawlessly, and Sal only uses German parts, so the quality of his work is top notch. I would highly recommend going to him if you have a German car and dont want to get hosed by the dealer....... read more

Sal and the team at Rennsport MW are the best! I had all sorts of issues with my 2011 BMW X3 and dealer service was talking crazy money for repairs. Out of warranty I decided to seek help elsewhere and found Sal. He did a full inspection and told me the truth on what my ride needed. His repair costs were a great deal and saved me lots of cash. No unnecessary repairs as the dealer suggested. The full experience from drop-off to pick up was smooth and I couldn't be happier with the service! read more

Sal was a great help with my 325i. Knowledgable and fast. (I had an important trip planned and I think he moved some things around to help me quickly.) After another shop replaced a few parts, they threw up their hands on one persistent problem and blamed it on "bad gas." Their computer scan showed nothing wrong, but their suggestion didn't pass the sniff test. Sal took a closer look and found a possible cause. Rather than just replace the part, he tested it further to affirm his suspicion. By the next day, he completed the repair and the problem was solved. The car runs perfectly. Rennsport isn't the cheapest place around for service, but Sal is attentive, straightforward and friendly. I never felt like I was being oversold (as the dealers do) strung along, or brushed off. What he says, I trust. read more

Looking for a reliable, automotive repair shop is not easy. When I finally found a shop that achieved customer satisfaction, I stuck with them. I have been a customer at Rennsport Motor Works for many years, and have never had a bad experience. Sal, the owner, is honest and is always within the estimated cost. I would give this shop ten stars if I could. If you want an honest shop, focused on giving quality service, this is the place to go. read more

Brought my '07 VW GTI over to get four new tires put on. First I spoke to Kim on the phone who is absolutely delightful. Then I went by the shop and met Sal. This was my first repair at Rennsport MW and I highly recommend Sal and his team. I have a very old Audi and it's tempermental, so it's a great relief to have a trustworthy repair shop nearby. From the get go Sal and his team were amazing. I had an electrical problem with my 2010 bmw 5 series. Which could've easily cost an arm and a leg, but Sal recommended a diagnosis for two hours where he could run a bunch of tests and hopefully find the problem. This was slightly worrying for me because I didn't want to spend money on the labor and come out empty handed. Which is often the case. I was in a very compromised situation where most mechanics can easily take advantage of you. Soon after I get a call from Sal saying that they reset the modules and tested the car. They addressed the problem immediately and kept it over night for testing. I expected to pay the two hours of labor charges and maybe some others as well, but I was surprised to see a bill for a fraction of the price. Sal charged me for less than an hour of labor. Saying that it was an easy fix. Which is something incredible and hard to find from most mechanics. He's my new permanent mechanic and a recommendation for anyone. Honest, very polite and helpful. It's been over two weeks since and the car is working great. Thank you Sal! read more

Sal is patient, honest and professional in his dealings with clients at the shop. I arrived on time for an early morning appointment to swap out my summer tires and install the winter wheel & tire setup I had delivered direct from the warehouse. Sal happily offered to store the off-season tires (for a reasonable fee) as well. He also doesn't try to over-sell you with his recommendations, just a straight shooter. Definitely visit his shop if you need anything done. Kim is a delight as well (if you get to meet her) - I forgot my cell phone and she was very accommodating in storing it in a secure location for me to pick up after hours. read more

Recently brought my E46 2001 325i for diagnostic work. Has an fluctuating RPM issue at about 1k. Sal, the owner, spent time on it and suggested a few things that might be wrong or need attention. He wasn't pushy and said whenever you are ready to do more bring the car back. Shop is large, well equipped and the staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. Highly recommended. read more
