I really wish I could read the bad reviews here before visiting this repair shop. Yesterday I passed by this shop and I wanted to fix the problem of my car. The fans has a strange sound and the front hood not closing properly. Later I was robbed by this shop owner. He looked at my car first and told me that the car needed to replace the fan motor and a cooling fan. He gave me a very high quote, which surprised me. So I hoped that he could also fix the problem of the front hood which is not closing properly . He said he wouldn't do it. So I said the price was too high and I couldn't fix the car here. So he started to be tough and forced me to pay a $50 consultation fee. I was forced to pay this money. I am a single mother and this is my only car. It is a very old 2011 car and it is not worth $1,000. And I just had a car accident few months ago.And a friend of mine helped me repair the front part of the car. And this shop's owner named GARY actually asked me for nearly $800 to repair the car, which of course I can't afford. Yesterday, this man named GARY he robbed me. He took away my $50 which I worked so hard everyday earned to feed my child. My car's problems are still there. I will never forget that he forced me to hand over my credit card, and he even forbid me to touch my car before I pay him .I will never forget the ugly face of this man named GARY. Amazing service by a group of honest guys. I blew a trailer wheel bearing on my way from VT to VA and these guys took care of me. They showed me how to get the bearing off so I could have them re-pack it and get it back over to the shop for a full fix. All this while every bay in the garage was filled with cars. Worst repair shop ever. Charged me $800 to fix some part of the car. Car still wouldnt turn on. Attempted to fix other parts of the car for another 2 weeks and while billing me an extra $650 because he kept buying different parts because he "thought thats what was wrong with the car". I have always had a great experience with Captan. They have always treated me with respect, and level with me....tell me what needs to be done with the car, how much it'll cost me and if its necessary or if it can wait. I love that it is always ready when they say it will be, and I haven't had a problem with going in for 1 thing and ending up being billed for 30 like I have at the dealership. I really like these guys; its very much a local, good auto shop. As far as the other poster about inspection is concerned, inspection is free in the state of NJ at the MVC...it never takes more then 45 minutes EVEN with lines so why would you pay for inspection? If the car won't pass at the MVC its not going to pass anywhere else....just saying. read more

This is the worst repair shop in New Jersey. You might as well let a monkey work on your car. They somewhat guess as to what is wrong and then they just start changing parts and billing you. After they worked on my car the initial problem was still there. I then took it to another mechanic and he showed me exactly what was wrong and fixed it. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

This guy is horrible!!!! I had my brakes done here and amount two weeks later while driving my brakes completely disappeared. I took my car to a different mechanic today and he asked me if the person who did my brakes was trying to kill me. The rear brakes were installed wrong and both sides were leaking fluid causing air to get into the line. I almost could not stop trying to get to work this morning. Do not trust this guy at all and don't let him touch your car. read more

I had to get my new car inspected for the insurance company I chose. I was given a number to a place, which happens to be here, called immediately & was able to be taken that very same day! Extremely convenient. I'm still learning the area where I live & told the gentleman on the phone. He kindly investigated where I lived & what was near by to give me the easiest directions there. Was super nice & helpful! Once I arrived, I was in & out. I didn't know much about my new car simply because my boyfriend handled getting it with me. The man who helped me wasn't getting annoyed with me, which was awesome. I'm sure it's frustrating when a customer can't properly answer questions about their own car. I went to have the tires replaced on a 4x4 SUV; I stopped to ask if they have time to work on my car since they where busy; they told me to call within an hour and also explained the process and estimated time before start working on my car; effectively they started working on it when they said they would and at very reasonable time I had all tires replaced.
