Today, I was picking up my wife at a New York City hospital and when I got in the van, noticed the "low tire monitor" was lit on the dashboard. Took the van to Ideal and saw Jason - he was with another customer, so Nick handled my concern. He first added air, then took off the tire and noticed a nail or screw in the treads. He quickly got the rolling car lift, took the tire off, repaired the tire, checked the tire pressures in all four tires, and adjusted them, as needed. The whole repair was completed in under ten minutes...perfect timing. When I was riding in my car today I heard a rumbling noise. I stopped and took a look under the car, there was a lose metal plate. I was thinking of going straight to Toyota but didn't want to take out a 2nd mortgage. I read about Ideal Service Center in either the AAA news letter, so I decided to take my car there. I couldn't be more happy with them. They were pleasant and professional. As soon as I drove in one of the mechanics 'Big Joe" had heard the sound and said it was NO problem, give me 10-15 minutes to get a lift free. After 30 minutes I was ready to go and got a reasonable charge for the work done. While I was waiting I was speaking to the Vinnie who is the owner, I had real nice conversation with him..I told him me and my wife would be back for any maintenance or repairs..I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car or my wife's car there. Altima 2009, heater didn't work and engine knocking. Installed new radiator for $700. The next day engine knocked again. Replaced ignition coil for $250. The next day the same problem. So, they couldn't fix the car and charged almost $1000. After snow storm will go to another shop. Don't recommend this far from ideal service center. read more

Left Ideal on my last visit with the intention of visiting Mavis or Pep Boys for tires (didn't even ask at Ideal because I was afraid of how much they'd be). Well, the joke was on me!!! Visited Mavis Discount Tires on Rt. 17N and was quoted a ridiculous price for tires I'd NEVER HEARD OF!!! I decided to give IDEAL a call and see. Hi Everyone! Well I finally found a repair facility I am confident in and I can trust them. I have always done almost all my mechanic work. starting in 1967 in the Army working on piston helicopters for a year . I've overhauled a few engines and replaced almost all the parts of a car. I've had many bad experiences with others working on my cars and trucks. But I finally found a garage I am happy to let work on my vehicles. I'm so happy I've had Ideal repair 3 of my vehicles. So nice to get them all caught up.The charges I were very reasonable. The owner Vin is very pleasant to work with, as are the rest of the crew. Tom, Joe, Jayson and Don. Together there are 5 mechanics there. Good to know if a hard problem arose they could put there heads together . And its also makes for excellent service they're fast and usually don't need a long wait time to get in to see them. They like to do good work.and the prices are more than fair They did my 97 f150 a hard to get at vacuum leak, belt tensioner, 96 Cadillac door registers, antenna motor, check for oil leaks and air conditioner compressor advise, 2003 chev van service light on, it was a hard to diagnose broken abs connector and a window register.. read more

STAY AWAY!! I had these guys check out a car that they had on their lot and they said it was ok. The car was a lemon and have since invested $3000 and still not done. Adiitionally I had them complete a tune up and they messed that up too. Had these men work on my pickup truck "not getting spark or fuel", two days later and $1.100.34 later I was told that when they started my pickup that my exhaust muffler had blown apart that is very hard to understand being that the exhaust had just been replace sereral months ago. So after all the money they charge me in labor now I have to replace the new exhaust that they blown up. What did they do pour gas down the TBI ? I feel that I have been grossly overcharged and ripped off. I will never return to this service station. Beware of these men with wrenches it will cost you !!! read more

After my car was towed there, they advised me that the problem was covered under a recall and the dealership ended up making the necessary repairs at no cost to me. They could have easily kept that information to themselves and made the repairs. They are the best. read more
