Originally went to get most major fluids changed and/or flushed: Oil, Coolant, Brake, Power Steering and Transmission for 100,000+ mile service. All were completed at reasonable prices. However, the day before my emissions light came on. Online search showed it could either be the catalytic converter or the O2 sensors. I assumed O2 sensors and told the owner. He did all the fluid changes first at reasonable prices, then hit me with the cost of changing the O2 sensors... HE SAID $500. I should have said NO but didn't since it was an emissions light. He made it seem at first like it would take hours to get the part and install. It took 20 minutes. I then looked online at what the actual cost was of the sensors and the typical cost to do it... $30 for sensors on Amazon. $100 for labor (if they did a full hour) For a 15 min job and $30 parts at $500... I GOT RIPPED OFF! But after realizing I had gotten ripped off after the job was done the most annoying part of it all was that the owner kept consistently telling me at his front desk area on 4 separate occasions that he, "always gave fair prices" and "isn't trying to scam anyone". In retrospect, the fact that he kept saying these things repeatedly to me as my car was being worked on should've been an indicator that he was shady. IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE THIS AUTO SHOP, PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOOK UP WHAT THE ACTUAL PRICES ARE OF THE PARTS YOU NEED REPAIRED ONLINE FIRST AND ALSO ASK HOW LONG THE REPAIR WILL TAKE. DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE... Would give only 1 Star but gave 2 since he did complete the other fluid changes/flushes at fair pricing. read more

I needed an oil change and my hood has difficulty opening (natural wear and tear 2017 Jeep). The owner and director of this Shop (Teaneck Express Lube) is great and the mechanics and staff are amazing as well!! Huge plus and positive the owner is a bird/animal lover as well!! A friend recommended this shop to me. I took my 2000 Toyota Avalon for an oil change air condition problem and tune up. They told me I didn't need a tune up yet. That is honesty. Something that is hard to find nowadays. The quality of the work was excellent and quick. They know how to detect and fix problems. They don't do unnecessary work to increase the price. I actually really liked the workers here. They were honest and gave me fair prices and were able to explain and show why I needed things. They were all very friendly and attentive. Wow!!! So I pull up and try to get an oil change. I ask how much is it.. he looks under the hood and says "this car requires 0w-20 synthetic only." I said it's ok just put conventional. He said no your car requires it and we don't have conventional and walks away. Mind you, I had brought my other cars here and they were nice. But this guy today, he is not. I can sit here and explain what's right and what's wrong, what you should and shouldn't. I was the this field and business for 15+ years. That's all I'm gonna say. This guy here though wants to make a quick buck off of oil?! So be it. I really needed other stuff done but he wants to make 5-10 bucks on oil. I am so disappointed and disgusted with how this went. Dishonest and rip offs. Mike is sleazy and creepy and he is a scammer. I've gotten a few services done by him and have not been happy with any. They use the cheapest quality but charge you for original equipment and do not take accountability for the poor work they do. Recently went to another mechanic and they reported that the previous work (done by Mike) could have led to my tire exploding due to the poor job they did. I thought they were very nice at first but realized they take advantage and rip people off. If he says he made an incredible deal happen for you, run! It's probably a hack job that'll cost you more in the long run. I will be pursuing legal action. read more

Do NOT GO HERE. THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Don't believe that they care about you or your car. I have had minor incidences with them before but i over looked those situations. However, I cannot over look this situation. My father went here to get his springs done yesterday because I recommended them. Mohammad, the son, said the job would take an hour and a half. After two hours my dad goes back to find out they can't finish the job today. Mind you, he lives in PA , which they know! They don't have any loaners cars so they basically left his stranded in NJ. Today, my father texts him at 8:30 about finishing the car. He does not receive a text until 12:28 saying the car is finished. Again, knowing he's in PA, don't you think they would respond sooner and not wait until the car is finished to tell him?? My dad gets there and they tell him how much it will be, my father thought they were joking. Come to find out, they REPLACED THE SHOCKS on his car. SOMETHING HE DID NOT CONSENT TO AND HAD NOT EVEN MENTIONED TO HIM. Regardless of their reasoning to replace the parts, WHY WOULD THEY REPLACE A $500 PART WITH OUT CONSULTING MY FATHER???? Even when I take my car there, they some how find the need to replace other parts that I did not consent to doing. This has crossed the line.
