My 2018 Honda Accord was diagnosed with a failed turbocharger, and service advisor Aidan Carlson told me that even with my warranty coverage, I would still owe nearly $800 out of pocket. What concerned me was that he began discussing potential out-of-pocket costs before the warranty company had fully reviewed the claim and repeatedly stated that the warranty would only cover the turbo repair. When I contacted the warranty company directly, I learned that additional charges had not been properly itemized and that labor costs exceeded what the warranty company was willing to pay. After I asked Aidan to provide more detailed information to the warranty company, the claim was re-evaluated and approved. Miraculously, my estimated out-of-pocket cost dropped from nearly $800 to $0. The most frustrating part was feeling like I had to do my own research and advocate for myself to get an accurate answer. Had I simply accepted what I was originally told, I likely would have paid hundreds of dollars unnecessarily. Whether this was poor communication, lack of attention to detail, or something else, it left me questioning the transparency of the process. I appreciate that the repair was ultimately covered, but this experience significantly damaged my trust in First Texas Honda's service department.

Was surprised to find out how expensive it was when AAA came and checked. Unfortunately the AAA guy didn't have one in stock. I called Advance Auto and Dave was just great. He know exactly what I needed. When I drove in soon after, he replaced the battery quickly and efficiently, with a smile. It was at least $30 cheaper than AAA too! I highly recommend this store and kudos to Dave for great customer service. Something that's sadly hard to find these days.

I had gotten a jump from AAA and their battery test said I needed a new battery (over 5 years on a 6 year battery). I went in, after comparing prices online at Autozone and seeing they were about the same, and told the young gentleman there that I needed a new battery for my Blazer. It took a few tries between the radio being too loud (he turned it down eventually) and the the guy mumbling, but eventually I got the battery I needed (although I did have to ask for the cheaper battery--that wasn't immediately offered). Now comes the part that earns the 5 star status. As a spoiled millenial who likes to save a buck but never bothered to watch my dad when he was working on the cars growing up, I was determined to install the battery, which I thought would be an easy task, given that O'Reilly's provides tools to help you with repairs like these. After spending 10 or 15 minutes on my phone looking up how to change a battery, picking up random sockets from the tool cart hoping that I would find the right one, another gentleman behind the counter found the right tools for me and spent five or ten minutes switching the battery out for me. I hadn't asked for his help (apparently my air of desperation and frustration was enough) but in a few minutes my baby was running again...and I noticed that my car was acting like it was in a horror movie, cranking even when the key was not in the ignition...but that, I have since found out from my mechanic, was a problem with my starter/ignition switch.
