I was having a battery issue. Extreme corrosion. Aric was so helpful and attentive. He went above an beyond to clean the battery connections and and cables. I was very impressed with the level of service and am glad that I came here for battery help. I highly recommend.

Regarding Advance Auto Parts 5127 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 Buyer beware! I am basically a trusting person, wanting to believe the best of people. I purchased an Optima red top battery from this store last week. I contacted the store and asked if they had a "fresh" battery and was told they had a Jan. 21 battery in stock. Optima batteries have the coded date of manufacture on a long white sticker on the side as well as on a simplified smaller round sticker. I asked Miles for the January battery. He brought one with a 12/20 round sticker. I restated I wanted the January 2021 battery. He said "Oh, right" and brought a battery with a 1/21 round sticker on it. Foolishly, I did not double check the larger white sticker (until I was home). Obviously, he switched the small round sticker, which was removed from the installed battery (also noticed at home). The battery he installed was manufactured 3/19/2020 (see photo). God bless you Miles! "The first digit states the year. Digits 2,3, & 4 equal the day of the year. If the date code on the top of the battery is missing use the bar code sticker to qualify the date of the battery."

I think this is another one of those places where your mileage may vary based upon your DIY knowhow and who you get in store to help you, but I had a positive experience here today, one I thought worth sharing. I'm a relative neophyte when it comes to car repair and barely better than that when it comes to maintenance, and these folks have helped me out of a tight spot or two. My ride is working on three years old, and as an import, occasionally finding the right parts without heading some place special can be a bit of a pain. But the dude at Advance helped shore me up today, and I was glad for it. As no doubt will be the people who have to ride around me. Thanks, Advance dude.

When they called me about an hour later, they said it was a result of an error they made when replacing my break pads a few months earlier. I had purchased my tires from them when I was getting Big Blue serviced. Wifey had been to our local Firestone and was always treated well, so popped up. Walked in the door and immediately greeted by William at around 10am. I mentioned what the issue was and he immediately jumped into action and asked if he could look himself. Out we went and quickly he found a screw in my tire. Immediately put me at ease and told me that this was completely fixable. Back inside he put together the service ticket. It would be about an hour wait and perhaps 30 minute fix. My bad, I didn't bring my laptop, since they had complimentary wifi. Also, some complementary cold water, I did rue the fact I had left my Yeti with coffee siting in my office at the casa. I pulled up a seat and nestled in. Discovery on the TV had Oak Island Treasure show, what a lot of bollock that is. People watching as almost as good as being in the Social Security office. Entertained myself and then was called up to look at what all they had found. A very soft offer to add a new air cleaner, oil change and one other item, which I declined. I mean everyone does this, no matter it being a little irritating to be reviewed. Just stood my ground and politely declined. I was trading my car in the next month or so for the new 2027 QX65, so these items would be taken care of by the dealership. I noticed my car up in the bay and not to long after it scooted by to be parked and picked up. The only tiny little suggestion, it was another 15mins after the car was parked, that the ticket came up to William to check me out. He was also with another walk in at that point. Pro-tip, next time I will get there when they open, since I think this tire patch would have only been 30 mins. It overall was a pleasant experience, it does do a lot of walk up traffic, so plan accordingly. You could leave your car with them and they will call you when ready. I'll be back if needed! Out the door for $32, job done!

They don't even pull the wheels off, but they pillage all the trunks so there's no lug wrenches floating around. Several of the cars with wheels still on are not even stabilized properly to make wheel removal safe. Every time I think it might be worth the time savings of stopping here instead of their competitors I'm proven wrong. It's barely a functional salvage yard and more often than not a complete waste of time. Just use car-part.com or wrench-a-part. You'll be glad you did.

Bring more tools than you think you'll need. There's often other people out there who may or may not help you if you forget a tool, I had someone loan me an electric ratchet when I forgot my regular ratchet set in the car, only had basic wrenches in my bag (and didn't want to pay the $3 again). They WILL look through your stuff on your way out. There's also Wrench A Part in Del Valle, but that's a lot further for me, and they rarely have my car model.

We just financed a car from Texas Honda and we are paying way too much in APR from the bank that…read moreloaned us money, not the issue, we needed a car ASAP and have to suck it up because of the credit score. The issue lies with the complete lack of communication and things they said they'd do and did not. We were supposed to pick up the car on Tuesday when they said it would be ready. They communicated through text and on paper that the issue with TPMS light would be fixed, and the ac would be fixed as well as regular maintenance, as well as a detail of the car, oil change ect would be done by Tuesday. They did not communicate with us that it would in fact not be read, we reached out to them they said nope tomorrow, never heard back the next day so we reached out they said nope tomorrow for sure. All times we had to be the ones to call and text which I understand they are busy people but we just spent money and we expect things to be ready when they said they'll be or at least be communicated with and not left in the dark. Before we picked up the car we also tried to reach out and get a copy of the financial documents because we wanted to arrange our schedules and get everything squared away with payments, they said they'd contact the finance department about sending us the info, they never did. When we reached out the day a few hours into the day to see if they were able to get ahold of the department on sending us the information they told us the person in charge of our documents left early for the day. Again left in the dark about that. When we showed for the car we were able to see the documents but when asked if we could get a copy of everything they said they had already made copies and just handed us some flash drive we have no way of looking at. When we finally got the car the issue with the TPMS light was not fixed they said they got the wrong part so we can come back....To call them or text them Saturday morning to see if the part had arrived, so we did they said nope try again Monday. So we tried again Monday (Today) Person in charge of letting us know if the part had arrived or not basically said I'm actually out until NEXT Saturday so try again then..... or just show up and ask the maintenance guy in charge. We did not want to make the drive for no reason if the part hadn't arrived or he wasn't there. So we called, many times, were transferred many times. No one ever answered, weird because there's always at least 10 people just chatting in the front. Showed up and the guy there (different sales person) has no idea any of this was happening ,our sales person never let anyone know anything before dipping for a week. The AC was also never fixed, Sunday afternoon when we were running errands air would blow but it wouldn't get cold. We were sitting there sweating. The AC repair was written into their "WE OWE YOU" form stating our AC would be good and fixed at pick up. It's not fixed. Probably a leak or something from a line. So desperate for them to fix the issue we want to have our mechanic fix it and just bill Honda because when we Brought that up to them and they're saying they don't have anything on file about our AC. This whole dealership is unprofessional and sold us a car that needed repairs. We did not agree to buy "AS-IS" we were told those issues would be fixed and I've got texts that prove it. We will both be submitting complaint about everything so far from this dealership to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles as well as the Better Business Bureau.
