Stored my RV there years ago, not only did the owner or his representatives use it (while it was stored there, damaged was done to the unit.

My RV was stored with this company for years. For the first years, this was a great place with truly concierge service. But then -- maybe two-or-so years ago -- something changed for the worse. I asked for services with an explicit matter for attention and that matter wasn't taken care of. Common things like a shuttle ride home became a somewhat nasty confrontation. The promise of a date to get my RV turned out to have never been passed on to the boss, by an employee who was no longer there. Etc. I decided to sell my RV and ended my contract with Admiral. This was mid-month, and I was assured I'd receive a prorated refund. It took 2-1/2 months, 5 phone calls, and the threat to go public on local and social media before I finally received this refund. I don't know what has happened here. This used to be a wonderful business. But not any more. I can no longer recommend them. read more

I stored my RV there and in exchange for my high fees, was always told I was being done a solid or a big favor because they were inconvenienced by having to pull my rig out - which wasn't really that often (4-6X a year for the time I was there). Sometimes with 3 days notice. Uh...isn't this the business they are in - storing and retrieving your rig? Ridiculous. Then, after moving out, I told them I was moving out and they kept charging my credit card for 6 months. They will respond and say that I changed my credit card and make up lies to defend themselves just look below...but the truth is that they want the recurring revenue and will do everything they can to just keep billing you even after you leave with the poor customer service. So be prepared to be paying a lot higher average per month - they operate like AT&T and don't want to stop charging you. Further, they advertise a bunch of value add services - don't believe any of it. They store, reluctantly retrieve (because that means they have to get off their butts and do something) and mis-bill and keep billing you. For me, it was 6 months of trailing bills they refuse to refund. Probably because they already spent the money? There are many way better choices out there - if you have an RV or a boat, just learn how to do a quick winterize and there are even places with overhead cover so you get protection from sun/rain/snow then you don't have to deal with this kind of B.S. and can go get your toy anytime you want and be happy! read more

Would not recommend this business. Very arrogant. They do not follow up on contracts and charge fees, even though no services are rendered.

Admiral transported my boat from Tahoe City to Sparks without securing the Bimini cover. The cover was in place on numerous occasions at high speed (50 MPH) on the lake without damage. Upon arrival in Sparks, the top was destroyed. Admiral refused to reimburse my $2,000 cost to repair. They also attempted to charge an unheard $150/month to merely secure a storage for the 21/22 storage. read more

We were looking for a place to store our boat as we were transitioning between houses and had no where to keep it. We only stayed at this storage for 3 weeks give or take. First issue we had was when We scheduled a drop off on Sunday and we're left waiting in the parking lot for 45 minutes. They state they are available Sundays 5:30-7:30 pm for drop offs. We scheduled our time for 6:30 and waited there until 7:15 and no one showed. We did not feel comfortable leaving our new boat unlocked in a parking lot with no one around for go knows what can happen to it. Then they called to ask were our boat was at 7:45 and we rescheduled to drop it off Monday morning. No one was there at this drop off time either, big surprise. We left the boat in front of the office as there was another boat there so we felt a little better leaving it this time. We called during office hours to make sure it was put away and we were yelled at very rudely that it was an inconvenience to her to see if our boat was taken care of. The third and final issue before we left was when we scheduled a pick up and no one showed for 30 minutes to give us our boat. We didn't bother bringing it back and found a self storage that gave way better service and access to our boat. Poor customer service and not staying to their word. Maybe if I was storing an RV it would be a different story because that can be locked up and left in a parking lot at night but I would never leave my boat unattended in a dark parking lot... read more

We had numerous contacts with Admiral Toy Storage about storing our boat. It was all agreed and we confirmed with them when we would arrive with the boat. After pulling it from CA and some days at Tahoe we arrived (having confirmed several times the day/time with Admiral Toy Storage). The place was closed in spite of it being several hours before closing and our having confirmed it. The phone went to a recording, the buzzer at the door did nothing and no signage indicated anything other than this was the hours the facility was open (well before closing). Given we were leaving town the next day we had no choice but to haul the boat back to CA. You should avoid Admiral Toy Storage if you are looking for reliability, responsiveness, and any type of empathy or problem solving when they do mess up. read more

It's been a year now that I've been storing my trailer with Chris at Admiral. I am very pleased with the customer service I receive. Helping to deliver my trailer for service, washing prior to a trip, servicing the generator, and filling the propane tanks before pick up are just a few services I've received. I'm not happy with Admiral Toy Storage for several reasons... First, we were told in the beginning someone would be there on Sundays to accept the RV's because people take them out for the weekend and want to take back to storage on Sunday. Makes sense. I was told to call about an hour ahead to let them know I was coming. Okay, no problem. The first time we were out, I tried this. I called, no answer, so I left a message. Called again and fumbled through the crappy phone options, (which sometimes just disconnect when you select an option) and left another message to a different person. We got to the facility, and waited, and waited. Called again, no answer and no call backs. We waited about an hour and a half and decided to take it to our house. My work schedule makes it difficult to get it in during the week so I don't like this. So I called Monday and was told we are supposed to let them know when we pick it up when we are going to drop it off. Otherwise I guess you are on your own. What if you have delays, or a flat tire? Vivian, the owner's mom, and office manage is top notch RUDE! I had some potential buyers for my RV and had to meet them at the facility. She said she was on her own and could not move it outside for us. She moves RV's all the time, but she would not move it, I'm guessing because we were not taking it, but just to show it outside. They asked if I could open the slide-out. We were a good 5+ feet from the RV next to us but she flipped her top, "Absolutely NOT with something next to us!" Our slide doesn't go near that far and I told her I would have a spotter, but she wouldn't allow it. Then she said we could not start it being indoors, any vehicle started has to be immediately taken outside. So 15 minutes or so goes by and someone moved the RV next to us outside. I thought for a minute she was working with us. Nope. Someone then backed a 5th wheel in the spot next to us, and they left the truck running for at LEAST 20 minutes. The people looking at my motorhome said they had to leave because of the fumes. So last month, we were moving and hoping we would find a place with RV parking, but we didn't know what we would end up with so we didn't let them know we were leaving. We got our place with RV parking and gave them notice, well, the receptionist said she would pass it on to Vivian. This was I believe May 22. I was told we had to give 30 days notice so we would be billed for June. I asked if Vivian could call me and I could explain the situation of why we didn't give more notice and since they would not see or touch the RV again, maybe they could waive that. Well, Vivian never called me back, but on the 1st, we got charged, so I called. She said it's a contract so they have to do it. Then she said if we left in the winter time when they have a waiting list, they could waive it. I guess when money is tight, they take what they can get. They seemed like their ducks were in a row and it was a good place to store our RV in the beginning, but we did not get the good customer service we thought it would be. We will not consider storing at this place again if we are ever in need of indoor storage. read more

So being to new to the need for storage and not wanting to have to winterize my rig, I checked out admiral toy storage. Couldn't be happier with the people, price, and facility. We were able to use the rig all winter and return it to a cozy home when done. And we could leave our other vehicle there when traveling. Great concept+great owner+great service= grateful owner. read more
