My beef tacos (best tacos ever)
    Maddi

This is my new favorite restaurant. Oh my goodness. I had 3 beef tacos and they were DELICIOUS. Probably the best tacos I've ever had. I didnt get the name of our waitress, but she was so sweet and nice. I strive to be like her. Adela's was decorated so nicely!! They had pretty lights and cool paintings hung in the wall. They also had nice music playing. Thank you for a delicious meal!!!

We were visiting from TX so I have to say I was not sure about trying this place but it was a hit. We tried the Bloody Mary/beer drink and the shrimp was so good in it! My husband had the birria tacos which were tasty but not quite TX style birria. Our service was great with the human servers but the robotic server struggled. This place had nice lighting and standard Mexican restaurant vibes. It was the perfect spot for us for the first night in Myrtle beach!

Service included a delivery robot and didn't expect that. We stopped for lunch off-season and partook of the local discount, so sat in the patio and enjoyed some very good Mexican food. My chili poblanos were exactly how I like them, stuffed and covered in sauce but not deep fried or breaded. Our human server was also great With the food at a Reasonable price.

I have finally found my favorite Mexican food while on vacation. Yay Adela's! Fantastic food and service. Finally found our favorite style "chili releno" cheese ball stuffed with ground beef on bell peppers. Same as my hometown Miguel's restaurant serves. Will definitely be back!

Lots of options on the menu and I went with the Hawaiian nachos which I loved. Staff were friendly and the robots were efficient and interesting. The margarita wasn't my favorite ever but it got the job done. The decor was festive and unique!

Ordered takeout at 9:30 on a Saturday, staff was too busy cleaning to check the takeout orders on their tablet. I arrived and they said they didn't get the order which was a lie as I can see it on their tablet. Their food was weak at best. I could have had better from a chain restaurant.

The hubs was in the mood for some Mexican food and after consulting a couple local foodie groups on the ole book of faces and looking at reviews on Yelp, we settled on giving Adela's a try. The hubs started with street corn and after a couple of bites stopped eating it as it was very mushy and still had lots of corn silk still attached to it. He said it was definitely not worth the $6.00 they charge. We also got the cheese dip to start with. The dip was pretty good and was sadly the best part of the meal. Hubs ordered the birria tacos and I ordered the enchiladas camilas with rice and guacamole salad for our main courses. Both of our meals were so bland, no amount of salt and pepper could add any flavor. The entire meal was extremely overpriced for what we got and was very disappointing. I would definitely not recommend this place to others who asked for a recommendation on a Mexican restaurant and don't see us returning here again ourselves.

Second time eating here at Adela's. Very nice ambiance, music was awesome and not overwhelming. The food was awesome and perfect. Our server was great and accommodating. Our guest was late. Highly recommended.

Right after that statement is a picture of about 10 Mexican bandits wrapped in bandoliers which hold about 200 individual bullets each. Is that the kind of "experience of Mexico" they were meaning? Just kidding. Sort of. I spend too much time looking at sub-text, I think. Bandoleros and bandoliers aside, lunch was fantastic. Maybe the servers are used to folks coming in packing because my server was excellent--helpful, deferential, not in the sucking up way, but in the I've Got Something Good And Want To Share It With You way, and was able to keep my salsa mainline drip going without prompting. I thought the chile relleno on the side I ordered, would be a little baby poblano stuffed with some cheese, but when he asked what I wanted on it, I shrugged and said chicken. What arrived was pretty much another entire lunch--a giant pepper topped with cheese and chicken. A great, soporofic meal. I took an hour nap after. I dreamed of Salma Hayek.

While the food was delicious and drinks were flavorful, the atmosphere and service left me underwhelmed. Plus the tables and chairs looked tired and well worn. Our drinks were ordered first and not served until after we started eating...and only after a couple of inquiries. They were quite flavorful. Especially the cucumber jalapeño martini. It appeared the only bartender was also waiting tables. The kitchen staff were the highlight of our experience, because our food was delivered at the speed of light! Carnitas Verde were tender and mouth watering. They were so good that I ate them with a fork vs wrapping them in a tortilla. The verde sauce had the perfect amount of heat. Plus the portion size was generous. We sat inside by the door to the back porch. Unfortunately the door leading outside didn't close properly, so every time staff went outside, we were blasted with nuclear hot heat. Even after closing the door ourselves and mentioning the issue several times, it appeared the staff was unable to keep the door closed which made for a very unpleasant dining experience. I think we were all sweating profusely and ready to leave quickly to get back to the comfort of our AC! Our table service for 6 was also subpar. We had to repeatedly find our server to ask for drink refills and finally our checks. When preparing our checks, he came back to the table 3 times to ask us which orders were on our 3 checks. Even then our checks were incorrect. We simply decided to pay without attempting to rectify the error with our server. I understand staffing can be a challenge. Besides the bar, the restaurant appeared adequately staffed for a 5:30pm dinner service. Possibly they were having POS issues. Maybe it was an off night. Or maybe our server was new and inexperienced. Bottom line, I'll have a difficult time convincing my family to indulge me with my annual visit to Roca Roja visit next year.

However, now that we've gone multiple times i can confidently say it is rather inconsistent. Sometimes your burrito is swimming in an amazing cover of cheese and sometimes is a little more than a drizzle. This latest time something must have been a little off because my tried and true Al Pastor burrito came with 95% rice inside... I don't think I saw any beans and only a few pieces of meat. Again - this is not the norm and my great experiences outweighed this last visit, but consistency in the long run will be important. I'd also agree with the reviews saying they like to charge for upsells and they are pretty good at pushing them. I love their house hot sauce but paying a dollar for hot sauce at a Mexican restaurant seems a bit absurd... Overall worth a try and we will continue coming back but there is some fine tuning for management!

I subtracted two stars because on each of my trips here, the service has pretty much sucked. Both times our party was basically totally forgotten about...no refills on chips or waters and we had to go off elsewhere inside to flag someone down simply to get and then pay our bill. Unfortunately, this consistent shoddy service keeps me from returning in the future. Oh well, lots of other happy hours in Myrtle to enjoy, like Sol y Luna in Carolina Forest.
