We were visiting from TX so I have to say I was not sure about trying this place but it was a hit. We tried the Bloody Mary/beer drink and the shrimp was so good in it! My husband had the birria tacos which were tasty but not quite TX style birria. Our service was great with the human servers but the robotic server struggled. This is my new favorite restaurant. Oh my goodness. I had 3 beef tacos and they were DELICIOUS. Probably the best tacos I've ever had. I didnt get the name of our waitress, but she was so sweet and nice. I strive to be like her. Adela's was decorated so nicely!! They had pretty lights and cool paintings hung in the wall. Weve visited at least 3 times. Each time it seems its gotten worse. The food just isnt what it was. The flautas had ground beef instead of pulled beef. And they looked like they were frozen then deep fried to order. She didnt finish it. Salsa is eh, margarita was weak, like lime kool aid. My MIL got a taco salad. It was gooped with refried beans and she found a seasoning leaf (see pic) in her food. I dont think ill bother going here. Its just not worth it. read more

Service included a delivery robot and didn't expect that. We stopped for lunch off-season and partook of the local discount, so sat in the patio and enjoyed some very good Mexican food. We ate here last year and I raved about the birria all year. We went back today and it was a bust. It was just bland pulled pork, no seasoning, and just a big piece of fatty meat. Had lunch at Adela's today and very disappointed with my meal & my wife was disappointed with hers. This was formerly a favorite place for us, but this is the second consecutive disappointing meal. She had a cheese quesadilla that had hardly any cheese in it and a tortilla that was so stale & cooked so hard most of it was un chewable. My street tacos did not taste fresh & all three had minuscule toppings. The waiter never returned to our table after our food was served. It was a rainy day and they were not busy at all. We don't like to return meals to the kitchen anyway, but would have told him the poor quality. There are other good restaurants serving really good similar food and I doubt we will return to this one which we regret because it formerly was really good and had excellent service. read more

The hubs was in the mood for some Mexican food and after consulting a couple local foodie groups on the ole book of faces and looking at reviews on Yelp, we settled on giving Adela's a try. The hubs started with street corn and after a couple of bites stopped eating it as it was very mushy and still had lots of corn silk still attached to it. He said it was definitely not worth the $6.00 they charge. We also got the cheese dip to start with. The dip was pretty good and was sadly the best part of the meal. Hubs ordered the birria tacos and I ordered the enchiladas camilas with rice and guacamole salad for our main courses. Both of our meals were so bland, no amount of salt and pepper could add any flavor. The entire meal was extremely overpriced for what we got and was very disappointing. I would definitely not recommend this place to others who asked for a recommendation on a Mexican restaurant and don't see us returning here again ourselves. read more

We went to Adela's because it was the #1 rated on Yelp. We were greeted and seated promptly by a pleasant host. There obviously was some air conditioning issues. It was hot inside and they had big fans blowing. Service was adequate at best. Our server's English was very broken. We weren't sure she understood our order. Ordered takeout at 9:30 on a Saturday, staff was too busy cleaning to check the takeout orders on their tablet. I arrived and they said they didn't get the order which was a lie as I can see it on their tablet. Their food was weak at best. I could have had better from a chain restaurant. read more

I had dinner here with my sister and a friend and it was a weird experience. First, we came in what we thought was the front door (by the patio) and waited at the door for five minutes before being told we had to check in with the hostess at the other door. No problem. After seeing the hostess, we opted to sit outside because the patio area was empty and the inside was crowded with large parties. After being seated outside, someone brought us chips and salsa, but then our server never came over. I'm guessing he wasn't told about the table because someone from my party had to go back inside and let the hostess know it had been over 15 minutes since we got the chips and salsa and no one has been over to even take our drink order. Once we got our server, he was very kind and apologetic about the whole debacle. The first issue we had was with our drinks. We asked if they could make spicy, skinny margaritas (I hate a margarita that's all sour mix!), and he said he would check- again, no problem. The bartender brought our margaritas out, letting us know he WAS able to make them skinny and spicy. Wrong. It was like a regular, house margarita but with a more orange-y taste. I said not to worry about it and we would drink them. We didn't bother ordering another alcoholic beverage. Now for food. The menu is huge, and I think the menu should maybe be cut down a bit to deliver better quality/execution. I had the birria bowl which was ok with the exception of the meat; the meat was so salty it was borderline inedible. My sister had the classic beef tacos which she liked. My friend had chicken fajitas that were ok. It took a long time to get our food, which I understand. Our server was nice but the service was slow and it took forever to get the check at the end of the meal. Overall, this place seems a little unorganized, and I think you can easily find a higher quality dinner in NMB. read more

Perhaps the owner believes that the robot cat that delivers your food will distract you from the hot ambient temperature, gross salsas and tiny portions but the fact that I could not even finish my meal overcame the cheap diversion. I absolutely love the fact that Adela's Mexican Kitchen has a full bar available to sit at if you don't want a table. I ordered the Arroz con Pollo and it was by far the best I've had (and I order it a lot). The staff is friendly, attentive, and professional.
