Great option for boba in downtown Houston near the convention center. Came here with a group and there wasn't much of a line here. It's located at the bottom of a large office building in a food court-type area. The bubbles were cooked well and I liked their chewy texture and consistency. They have special deals if you order at a certain time, like $3 boba from 1:30pm-3:30pm. Addictea also has real food like Bahn Mi. Anyways, they handled a large complicated order well and service was warm and quick. Would be back if I'm ever in Houston again! read more

Who doesn't love Addic Tea. It's Ridic not to love Addic. I need Addic every day. And I usually get Addic right when I want it. I know you love getting Addic too. Amirite? What to get: Lemon Tea, or anything really Where the hell is it: Park by First City Tower, 1001 Fannin, then go underground. What's First City Tower: It's the place where your mother conceived you with the mailman. What?: You were too young to remember. You were only a wee little sperm. One of Houston's very best bubble tea shops, and one of the hardest to find! Discounting the international chains (of which Sharetea is the best) you're left with 3 incredible Bubble Tea shops to try (and plenty of other good ones). Tapioca Place may be the best (and has the best sandwiches), but Teahouse (a local chain) has the best selection and pushes close for the crown, especially the location at Shepherd & Westheimer. But there is a third, and oft-unheralded, competitor for this crown. Addictea. It's hidden away in the tunnels of Underground Houston. It's genuinely hard to find. The star of the menu is the amazing Lemon Tea. It's spectacular. If you want a special deal on it, you can go after 3 (but before closing at 4 Mon-Wed or 5 Thu-Fri) each day, and it's a dollar or so cheaper. As I said above, you need to go to 1001 Fannin and park, then go underground from the entrance to the tunnels at that building, and Addictea will be right there. It's a strange shape... short and fat like my current favourite girlfriend. It makes the bubble tea a little easier to handle and harder to spill. Almost makes it look bigger in a weird way. I can't describe why this Lemon Tea (and many of their others) are better than the competition. It's something subtle and sexy in the flavour. It's hard to put my finger on it. And it's hard when I put my finger on it, sometimes. Maybe it's the honey boba. But I would give it 10 stars if I could. The Milk teas are also good. Addic Tea tastes ridic good, and better than you'd think Addic would. read more

I got a taro cream blend during the happy hour deal ($3 for all drinks plus one free topping) and was rather disappointed. The taro flavor is really artificial and the drink is very watery (despite being a cream blend). The boba pearls were good though. read more

Addictea Cafe - a cup of bubble tea on a table - Bubble Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

Wow Texas has pretty good Viet Bahn Mi. Found this place through YELP and was delighted. We walked from office all the way to Fannin Street then realized that this place is in the tunnels. So we ended up going into one of the business building. I ordered the grill pork bahn mi. I was delicious. Would be better if there were more sauces. I got a combo with it so it came with a drink for $7.99 (I think I saved $0.50 from getting the combo). I got the passion fruit yogurt drink. I like the drink but only issue was that its a bit too sweet. My colleague got the chicken Bahn Mi Sandwich and 2 salad rolls to go with it. his was a combo as well. It's a bit more expensive compared to mine. He also agreed that it would be better if there were more sauces. He said the salad roll was really good. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Its a wow for Bahn Mi. Also noticed that there is not a lot of veggies in their sandwich like most food you get in Texas. Seems like veggies is a high commodity read more

This place brings out my tranquili-tea. No, it's not a super nice boba shop with board games and sugar options. But boba in the tunnel downtown Houston - whaaat? Yes please! It's in the first city tower in the corner of Lamar and Fannin where you can take the escalator downstairs to the tunnel. I usually come for tea in the afternoon when they have $3 any boba tea with one topping. There are usually 2,3 people working but they're pretty slow. Their drinks are more on the sweeter side. But you know what, it's better than ordering from Teahouse on Favor and paying $10 for delivering + tip when you're having a boba tea craving at work. Fav: Sea salt green tea - delicious foam! read more

For anyone wondering, they are still open! 10:00 am - 1:30 pm. Boba was really good, drink was okay. Solid for when a boba craving hits you while you're at work/in the tunnels area. read more

This review is specifically for the drinks, and they are a welcome addition to the tunnels! It's not a far walk from the Shops at Houston Center tunnel entrance, which is how I approach. I visit during happy hour 1-3 pm daily and get a mango slush with tapioca for a mere $3. As far as bubble tea places go, that's a real bargain! They don't have as an extensive of a flavor menu as Teahouse or a drink-focused place, but they offer the most popular options like mango, strawberry, taro, and pineapple. They also have honey boba, bursting boba, jellies and all the other add-ins. So far my favorite flavor has been the taro. The cups they serve the drinks in are wider rather than tall, and you easily get 20 ounces of drink. The service is always super friendly, and they give you a loyalty card so you'll get a free drink after buying 10. Because of the convenience and price, this is easily my favorite afternoon snack destination in downtown. read more

If you're trying to find this place, you have to look underground. It's in the tunnels! We came here with groupons, and while the owner/workers were very friendly, the drinks were only okay. We got the sea salt jasmine milk tea and the matcha smoothie, and both tasted watered down/overly icy. Granted, we did order light sugar so that may have contributed to the flavorlessness, but I still think that the drinks could have been richer and less watery. We also tried a macaron from here, and it was too sweet for me. Even if you have a sweet tooth, I probably wouldn't recommend getting macarons from here. I would stick to the drinks since that's more of their specialty. Their cupcakes and cakes look really pretty though! All sparkly and stuff :) I think they have great potential, so I hope their drinks do get better! Next time, I'll order them with normal sugar and see how it goes. read more

Very decent little milk tea shop in downtown Houston. Milk tea options are standard, nothing is special, but pricing is great. Between 1:30 - 3:30pm, it's their happy hour so their drinks are $3 including toppings. There's no sweetness or ice level adjustment stated on their menu, but you can always ask them to lower the sweetness to 50%, which makes the drinks better. read more

They have a great happy hour price if 3$ per drink before 3 pm on the weekdays. Definitely recommended for the boba obsessed in the downtown area. It is actually in the tunnels, fairly close to the Park Shops. Makes for an easy pit stop on your way back to they office after lunch. Downfalls are that you may have to wait as they aren't loaded up on staff. I wouldn't recommend making the stop without at least 15 minutes on your hands and more if it's during a peak time or you've got a group of people. read more

This is in a FOOD COURT, not a stand alone boba shop where you can chill and play board games lol. It was very confusing trying to find a way to get in because people kept talking about all these tunnels - I'm not from Houston so it felt like an adventure going through these tunnels. I ordered a jasmine milk tea and it was okay... nothing special at all. Pretty basic actually. Wouldn't come here again. Not much else to say - menu is pretty limited as it is connected to a restaurant as well. read more

For an office park Boba Cafe and Vietnamese Restaurant, this place is pretty legit. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. I was craving bubble tea one afternoon downtown and I found a hassle free 10 minute parking spot out front, headed down the escalator and got my order within 6 minutes! The boba was great consistency and and the tea had a good aroma and was the perfect sweetness(I got 75% sugar) my grilled chicken vermicelli was fresh and delicious. I just wished they gave more noodles and boba! read more

AddicTea Cafe gets above four stars from me, maybe... 4.5? At least based on first impressions and taste, I will definitely be coming here again. Along with the fact that this place is but a 5-6 blocks away from Discovery Green Park, I don't see any reason why I wouldn't be back! As other reviews have said, you gotta go down in the ground to find this small, tucked-away place. The relative obscure location doesn't even show up on Google maps, hahaha. That being said, the storefront is a lot smaller than what I first expected. It's not a "cafe" in its own building; rather, it is located in a food court type setting in underground Houston. This shop has a distinctly modern Asian feel, and drinks such as matcha and red bean do the trick -- right next door is the cleverly named BaoZ Dumplings from which you can get some potstickers to go with your drink! After trying some of my friends' drinks, I can say that I made a pretty good decision -- caramel icy milk. You can pick two sinkers (boba, various jellies, etc) to go with it, and I went with honey boba and coffee jelly to accompany the creamy milk. Another thing that made this place distinctly Asian was that you could pick between light, regular, and heavy syrup (oh, so many feels and appreciation ;A;). I went with light syrup so the milk wasn't sweet at all, but the condiments did a good job of balancing everything out to taste quite yummy ~ It reminded me a lot of Half and Half Teahouse in LA, if anyone has also been there! This place's menu seems to be tax-included, so whatever is listed for the $4-5 dollar drinks (which are a bit on the pricier side, yeah I know) on the menu is exactly what you pay. I think I was very moved with the fact that I found a little cafe that makes Asian drinks as well as they do in Cali. So, even though they're on the more expensive side, I was impressed by the flavor. This place eez gewd. read more

So good! My face is smiling ear to ear that there is a new boba place in downtown!!! Ok ok, it's not new-new. It's three months old, but I was on sabbatical. Welcome back to me!!! Tip for those that don't work here. If you park somewhere by the parkshops or by 1001 Fannin, there's an easy escalator down to the store! The tea is delicious and so are the honey bobas! Can't wait to try their desserts (cakes, macaroons & cupcakes)! read more

I'm glad there's a tapioca place right below my work. I don't have to travel far for decent boba. It's good enough to satisfy my boba cravings whenever I have them. I woudln't have them all the time, but every once in a while is alright. I would recommend coming during their happy hour (M-F 1:30PM - 3:30PM). Drinks are $1 off. read more

This place is awesome! I got the Passion fruit cupcake which has fillings. Not too sweet, but flavorful. This hits the spot! I hate eating cupcakes which are overloaded with sugar. For a drink, I ordered the Jasmine sea salt green tea which is divine! Sea salt cream on top of sweetened green tea! If you shake it well, it blends into a rich creamy texture together. Very unique! Highly recommend!! read more

So many options and has a great happy hour special with $3.50 Bubble Tea + one free topping from 1:30-3:30pm Monday through Friday! Usually really quick although there is usually only one or maybe two workers! Great place to help you with the 3 o'clock work day slump! read more

This place is located in the tunnels near Fannin/Mckinney streets. Their teas are always a little sweeter so I opt for 50% level sweetness. Their milk tea with honey boba is pretty good and will satisfy your bubble craving, but it's not like the places in Chinatown with chewy tapioca. Their milk tea is creamy and sweet and is really good even without the tapioca. I've also tried some of their fruit flavors of black and green tea (such as passion fruit, mango, and blueberry). Once again it's on the sweeter side. I'm guessing it's the syrup they use. Overall great place for a sweet drink. Also, they offer food now. Like vermicelli and banh mi. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I'll update my review when I get a chance to. read more

I've been looking for a boba spot downtown and this one is it! They have such a large selection of milk tea and flavored tea. The boba itself is soft and chewy. They also have a happy hour for boba after 3pm and it's only $3 for a cup with a free topping! read more

Love the HH here that starts at 2pm! $3 drinks I wish they had a little bit more variety and had some of the traditional drinks (i.e. milk tea, jasmine milk tea, coffee milk tea). I normally get the Matcha Frappe since I don't love the fruity boba drinks. read more

I'm always craving bubble tea and happy I found a pretty good place downtown. It's definitely not the best, but the best bubble tea downtown. To make it better, they are extremely affordable and have a happy hour from 1:30-3:30 with $3 bubble tea drinks read more

I got to these "tunnels" by going down the escalator in the corporate building on the corner. My green tea bubble tea was delicious. I like that she asked me if I wanted the syrup light, medium, or sweet. I agree with a previous reviewer that the macaroons were too sweet. read more

I got a delicious Grilled Pork and Pate Banh Mi sandwich. The bread was excellent and condiments very fresh. Definitely going to drop in again, but this time cave and add a red velvet cupcake. So so so cute and good. The packaging is so adorable and by packaging I mean the cups that your choice of drink is served in . I got Thai tea with honey boba and I got it during happy hour (1:30-3:00) so it was only $3.00 for a large! read more

Their cupcake and cookies are very yummy. Decorations are very nice and icing isn't too sweet. Love it!

Coming from Singapore, I really missed bubble tea so I decided to check this place out. And my oh my I am not disappointed :) their ice latte with pudding is to die for (and it tastes a bit like biscuits, which is always a good thing :)). It's a bit tough to find the place though, especially if you are new to Houston and do not work downtown. But the search is definitely worth it. Their cupcakes look delicious too but I shall abstain today :) read more

Since my last review, I've ordered a cake for my boss's birthday and it was so delicious! We got a chocolate with chocolate icing. I went back today to order another for a staff birthday and she said that she'd need over a days notice to have a cake for me. I think 24 hours notice is plenty for a Downtown bakery that is clearly only selling cakes for Downtown workers birthdays.... Ugh, oh well. The cakes are tasty, bubble teas delicious.. just need 2 days advance notice for a cake. read more

I'm so glad to find an authentic bubble tea place in downtown! Their cup is huge, same size cup as the honeybee in Chinatown but even cheaper price point. I tried both their Thai tea and seasalt greentea, and both are high quality (not artificial powder taste). For $8.29 you can pick any sandwich and any tea drink, no a bad deal for a convenient downtown location! read more

Love their cupcakes!! Icing is rich in flavor and overall not too sweet which was great. Pretty decorations. can't wait to try more flavors and their drinks! read more

Located in the tunnel system downtown. I did not like their milk tea. It wasn't bad but I just wasn't a fan of how it tasted. Almost too creamy (ice cream ish). The tapioca was good. They use crushed ice so it gets sucked up through the straw. Hate it. The lady taking my order was quite unfriendly. A smile wouldn't have hurt. I inquired about the sweetness of their milk tea and she was not very helpful; almost seemed annoyed. I opted for light sugar and I am glad I did. Everything else would have been way too sweet. I did not try any of their food items. Check in on yelp to get 1$ off any drink. read more

What's with always being "sold out" of tapioca? In the last 5 visits I've made here, 4 have been out of tapioca. I don't understand how a business can be out of something they sell every single day. Doubt they receive a limited quantity every day. read more
