THE BIG: Located in Bellaire (aka Chinatown of Houston). Pretty small but vibey shop with a ton of other unique flavors that look interesting to try. Plenty of parking in the lot. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here after eating at House of Bowls and wanting something sweet afterwards. Fortunatley Saigon Arts Matcha Cafe had a big sign of a matcha soft serve that got me intrigued. I guess ads do work. The place is very aesthetic inside with plenty of instagrammable spots. I was craving a matcha soft serve but they did have some intersting flavors like. ube, coconut, and a gold soft serve. The gold is more for looks i believe. I got the matcha soft serve and it came out pretty quick. Flavorwise, delicious, however the texture was a bit grainy for me. THE FINAL BAMBOO: For a matcha soft serve, the cost was around $7. Matcha flavor was a bit grainy but still satisfies that matcha ice cream itch whenever you have one.
What a great matcha cafe in the heart of Bellaire! Matcha was very good and the place was just so so cute. We will definitely be coming back when I need a matcha fix. I wish they had matcha cafes like this up north.

If you're looking for a refreshing drink spot in Houston, @saigonartsmatchacafe is definitely worth checking out. The cafe has a modern, cozy vibe with aesthetic décor that makes it a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or snap a few Instagram-worthy photos. We ordered the Passion Fruit Pineapple Cold Brew Fruit Tea and the Mango Matcha Fruit Tea, and both were absolutely delicious. The Passion Fruit Pineapple Cold Brew was light, fruity, and perfectly balanced -- not too sweet, with a bright tropical flavor that made it incredibly refreshing. The Mango Matcha Fruit Tea was just as impressive. The matcha flavor blended smoothly with the sweetness of the mango, creating a refreshing drink with a subtle earthy finish. It was vibrant, flavorful, and super satisfying. Overall, both drinks were fresh, well-balanced, Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to!
I've been wanting to try this place forever!!!! And every time I was in Chinatown we just had other plans and never made it here, but I'm so glad I did!!! Super friendly service and the staff offered us samples of their Ube and limited time only honeydew flavored soft serve ice cream And it tastes exactly like the Korean honeydew MELONA ice cream from the grocery store!! It was delicious! I'd go back for the Ube too - only observation I made was that both ice creams had this sort of grittiness in each bite...not sure why, but that would be my only thing if I were to go back... I'd ask them about it! Cute interior and would love to try their strawberry matcha sometime
Great place to get matchas of all sorts. Reminds me of matcha maiko cafe. They have parfaits, soft serve, matcha lattes, and desserts. I got the mango matcha which was very authentic and fresh. I recommend and would come back!
This place is literally incredible. The Saigon Special with soft serve, black bean, matcha cake, mochi and cornflakes is incredibly high quality with such a concentrated matcha taste, more than any other matcha cafe I've been to in California or Houston, and it's $8.75!!! The matcha lattes with cheese foam are also amazingly flavored.
I really like their ice cream! I got the mix of vanilla and matcha, and it's the perfect combo -- not too sweet, just right. The cone, however, is much sweeter than the ice cream itself, so if you prefer your dessert on the lighter side, I'd recommend skipping the cone. The environment is great. Perfect spot to chill with friends and play some board games. There are also seats further in the back that feel more private. The staff are super friendly too!
I came here because it has been on my list for quite sometime. I was amazed by the selection, and the flexibility when they made the dessert. I got the Saigon Special, and I wanted the ube ice cream instead of the matcha ice cream as advertised, which was super nice. I appreciate a lot that the price was very reasonable. There was plenty of seating, and some board games. It was clean, and the staff was very friendly. I am very glad I came here, and I think it will be my go-to place if I just want some Asian-flavor ice cream.
The one of the best matcha and drinks I have tasted in Houston. I disliked the strawberry matcha however because I felt like the strawberry as too much and overpowered the flavor and was a little bitter. It was nice how sweet the baristas were and how quick they made our order. The cafe is a beautiful well decorated spot to hangout and study. Will return!

We will definitely be back again and bring friends to try it out! I want to try everything on the menu! Service was great as well!
A very cute and unique dessert spot! I got the Saigon Special. It had agar jelly, corn flakes, red bean paste, mochi balls, pudding, and sponge cake. It was also topped with Matcha ice cream and a matcha pudding jelly bear. It tasted alright but wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be. I also got the ube ice cream which was good.
Saigon arts matcha cafe was a nice cafe with a fair amount of seating and Wi-Fi. I did get kicked off the Wi-Fi for a little bit, but was able to reconnect shortly after. There were board games available to borrow. The matcha latte itself was too sweet and had a powdery taste.
My friends and I came here after lunch. I ordered the Ube float and my friend ordered the strawberry matcha. They ran out of ube ice cream and asked what other ice cream I want in the drink so I chose honeydew. The staff was friendly and added another ube bear jelly for the inconvenience. Both drinks were delicious. The place is cute and there's more room in the back. I recommend this place and will definitely be back to try their other items. read more

I got the strawberry matcha and it was well balanced all around. My only complaint of this place is that there is no A/C - just fans blowing everywhere! Otherwise it is a pretty nice spot to hangout; they have more seating in the back and some games too. But I feel bad for the workers in there all day with no A/C :'( read more

Highlight: Iced Matcha Latte The drink was really grainy and there was still a lot of powder in the drink. More on the sweet end. Their ice cream did look really good but I wasn't a fan of my drink. Hospitality: The lady taking my order was super sweet and kind. The drink came out a couple of minutes after ordering. Honorable Mention: Seating and tables throughout the store and has free wifi that's good for studying and working. Has a nice and rustic interior. read more
If you can't already tell by the name, this is the spot to go to for your matcha fix lolol. Their desserts are refreshing and never too sweet. The matcha ice cream was pretty strong though, so I had a hard time finishing it but it was still good. This place has great selection and great service. Parking can be tough since the lot is relatively small and there are many other businesses nearby, but that's Bellaire for ya. Also, the vibes were super chill and relaxing! Definitely serves as a nice study or work spot for people. read more

Decent coffee shop in the area. It looks small from the outside, but if you head towards the back of the cafe, there's two tables tucked there, which is quite cozy. They have cute decorations around the shop. Drinks are okay, and can't exactly compete against the boba all around Chinatown but they do have a stronger focus on matcha as well as desserts and ice cream if that's what you're looking for! Wifi is good, not particularly loud, and restrooms are pretty clean. Workers are very nice. read more

Even though the previous business here (#1) was super popular, I suspect nothing has changed in terms of management or even what they offer. Currently Saigon Arts Matcha Cafe is a slept on, underrated, and solid biz that probably doesn't get enough shine. Seating is limited. However, there are tables inside for small groups as well as a small table on the outside. The parking lot is always full, but I always manage to find a space even during their peak hours. I really love the arts theme, which is evident on their walls with all the local paintings and decor pieces that are certainly an upgrade from their predecessor. It serves as a very good dessert option, especially during hot summer months. Their soft serve could probably rival many other places, but I appreciate the fact they serve it in ube, matcha, and classic flavors like vanilla and strawberry. They also have pretty tasty drinks and the matcha swirl and or ube matcha swirl are my go-to's. Service has always been pretty good and the staff usually is bilingual in Viet and English. Got the hojicha latte and it was very mediocre. It was not as earthy as I would like it to be, and tasted more milky than anything else. As for the space itself there's space in the back thats great for studying! It's pretty quiet and theres plenty of plugs. Also the staff is nice and drinks come out quick. read more
Such an underrated dessert spot! It's not as busy anymore at night when I came, very cute decorated cafe with board games and plenty seats, but I hope they are still getting good businesses. My go to is the special combo (Match Coconut 11/10 and Matcha Ube 10/10) the cereal adds extra texture and makes me feel like eating crispy ice cream sandwich. The red bean makes the ice cream even sweeter, but good thing they got some clear jelly on the very bottom of the cup that can cleanse the sweetness in your mouth a little. Even though the dessert is really sweet for me but I still keep coming back for them because they just make the ice cream combo so well. read more
The matcha ice cream is light, slightly sweet, and fragrant. However it is lacking the bitter taste which matcha should have. The ube flavor is sweet, and has a good hint of ube. Somehow there will be a pressure to finish the ice cream fast because of the limited seating at the front and at the back. If you get a seat, look at the walls which have beautiful art pieces displayed on them, while enjoying your dessert. read more

This place is popular. I can see what. I love Matcha. This place has lots of matcha. Therefore I pretty much love this place. They have matcha ice cream, matcha frappes, matcha tea... It's so good. They also have the warm waffle snacks too. If you're like me, visit here for some matcha! read more
For a matcha place, I expected the matcha latte to be better. It wasn't mixed very well and I can taste the individual powder. The matcha didn't taste as good either. I also tried their cheese stick mochi. It was interesting and not bad. It took a long time though. The place itself is great for studying with wifi. Next time I'll try their soft serve since that is what they are known for and I'll probably update my review if it is good. read more
