After a long day on Monhegan Island we didn't feel like going out or cooking. So, we ordered from Ada's We got the pickled vegetables, arugula salad, meatballs and the mushroom sausage pizza for delivery. It was excellent every part of the meal and I have to say one of the best pizzas I have had. In my opinion nothing in Portland can touch it!! I highly recommend this place!! read more

Came for the weekend and stopped by Ada's as I've heard so many great things. I walked out of there more than satisfied! The vibe of the restaurant is the perfect mix of chill, yet lively. The music is great. Unique drink menu...so many delicious drinks! Blood Orange Spritz is a must! The Rhubarb Margarita was also a surprising treat. Don't miss out on the crostini and garlic bread to start, peach caprese salad as well! For entrees, we ordered the pesto campanelle, linguine and clams, raviolis, and chicken parm. All empty plates MUST MUST try Ada's if you're in Rockland ! read more

We stumbled upon Adas Kitchen tonight, went in to have a beer at the bar and ended up having dinner. The drinks, food and staff were amazing. We had the pesto pasta and the mussels. Both outstanding. Their pasta is homemade and it was wonderful. Stacey was our bartenders along with another guy that I did not get his name. Both were so personable and attentive to their customers along with being skilled mixologist. Thanks Stacy for making this an enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommend this restaurant. It was a great find and we look forward to going back. read more

I've been wanting to try this place since we moved to Maine. Such a cute spot on Main Street in Rockland. Great happy hour! Kind service. Nice atmosphere. We loved the art on the walls. Decent beer selection with many Maine beers on tap. We only had the pizza and it was good. Cant wait to come back and try the house made pasta. read more

Ada's Kitchen - BLICE. Beer and a slice Happy Hour. - Pizza Near Me - Rockland, Maine

Had a great meal here during the latest hurricane! Camden was closed down and we made our way down to Rockland in the wind and rain. The host worked hard to find us a spot and once we were seated the food was fabulous. The mussels were great, the Little Gem salad was really a gem and the ravioli were super yummy. Next time we are in town I will definitely go back and try the pizza, it looked really good. read more

The food was really good and the decor is beautiful. I would give this review a 5 but honestly the server, K, was an angry person. it was almost like she felt we should be serving her. The other servers seemed great. I guess we got the unhappy one! read more

I really wanted to love this place. I love the Rockland area and am always looking for an excuse to escape there. In the dead of winter in Maine most of the restaurants in the area are closed. So I see Italian home cooking I'll certainly give it a go! I started with Adas salad-not as big a salad as I'd expect for $11-the size of a side salad but it was very fresh, light, and delicious. I was very hopeful at this point. Server was great-attentive and friendly. I ordered the cheese and pepper homemade ravioli while hubby got pizza. One thing that should never happen when eating ravioli is CRUNCH! The outer edge of all my raviolis were yes-crunchy. I cannot describe how odd and awful that is. The sauce was good and I ate because I was hungry but the entire experience of eating crunchy ravioli was off putting. Hubby's pizza was just ok-$26 and light on sauce and toppings-mostly crust. Unfortunately this winter endeavor will be my one and only visit to this restaurant. The crunchy ravioli left me forever disappointed:( read more

Ate here on vacation in Rockland, Maine. It was better than I had anticipated. It was a little crowded so it took a while to get served. Once the food arrived it was obvious Ada's had awesome tasting food. We had eggplant parm with house made linguine. This place reminded me of places in Italy. We liked it so much we came back the next night and the same dish again. That's how good this place was. Highly recommend if you like real Italian food. read more

Very good food. We ordered a calzone and pizza and a bottle of wine. very good service and nice ambience. Appropriately priced

Food-homemade pasta excellent/service --Robert-so friendly & helpful. We were a long way from home having come from CA. To ME for a wedding & so delighted to find this gem of a restaurant. Drinks, food, service -all terrific. Tiramisu outstanding. read more

If I could give no stars that would be more accurate. Italians should run an Italian restaurant. Yours is awful and your servers have zero personality. Such a shame with such a beautiful space. Owner should stay in back. Your only personality trait is bitchy. So sad. Now I know why you didn't make it in Portland read more

Nice little restaurant in a nice little Maine town with big Italian flare in the food. Great pasta. Authentic Neapolitan pizza. Creative appetizers nice wine list. I didn't expect it. Pleasantly surprised and very satisfied. read more

Our group stopped in on 1/19 after dropping a friend at the Knox County Airport and had a nice dinner. My wife had the 4 cheese pasta, while the other 2 of us had the pesto pasta. Our favorite restaurant in Rockland. Always great service and food. My husband loves the Diavolo pizza and I usually get one of the fabulous chicken dishes. read more

Took 3 f***ing hours in total to eat there with 7 people, it was horribly loud, we sat on barstools at a table that was too small, portions are insanely small for the price, some dishes are very bland, others were decent but unremarkable. Pasta was fresh, which was nice, cocktails were good but overpriced as well. I understand that the rent is expensive because it's two stories on the corner of Main Street with parking in the back, but as a life-long local, it sucks that ever three years that property is some new overpriced joint for snobby tourists. read more

dé·clas·sé Restaurant policy: "no reservations for a party of two". Tonight was their exception. My boyfriend and I were seated in a walkway. Noticing there was still 3 tables open another two-top, I asked to be reseated. I was told by the manager, that the table was reserved. I asked about "Ada's Kitchen" no reservation for "two" policy. He said, that they do not take reservations for two. BUT that, it depended on who answered the call. I live locally. My boyfriend grew up not 5 miles from Ada's Kitchen. We were profiled. Wearing best of clothes for us - be it no designer jeans - set us aside. Not sorry we didn't look "Ada Kitchen's" typical and apparently not wanted patrons. We paid the same price as everyone else. Paid over $130 for: Ordered: *bruschetta *caprese *chicken parm (came out slightly warm) *alfredo fettuccine *3 cocktails *1 glass of chianti DECLASSE dé·clas·sé Removed from one's class, degraded. Distasteful. read more

Ada's Kitchen was absolutely delicious! I got the pasta al forno special for the night which was lasagna with béchamel, mozzarella, arugula, and chunky tomatoes. I loved my dish! However, it was $16 and was the skinniest piece of lasagna I have ever eaten. I wasn't even full after my meal. I think if you doubled the amount of layers it would've been worth it. You can see from the picture how thin it was. However, despite the portion size was very tasty. I am a person that absolutely HATES arugula and actually like it in this dish. Which is something that's never actually happened to me. Server was very nice but I can't remember her name. The decor inside was very hip and artsy matching the new vibe of the town. Background music fit the ambience perfectly. Will be back again! read more

Went to Ada's Kitchen with my daughter and grandkids. I had the fettuccine ragu. The ragu was described as a Bolognese sauce. It had tiny pieces of meat and very few of them. The sauce had no flavor of meat or herbs like basil. My husband had eggplant parmesan. It was 5 slices of eggplant with sauce and cheese. He asked if the dish came with anything. The server said he could add spaghetti to it which he did. He said the eggplant was overcooked and mushy. He said the sauce on his entree was tasteless also. My daughter didn't care for the chicken Milanese salad either, it was the special of the day. Note to parents of kids under 5, this restaurant is not kid friendly. read more

We recently visited Ada's on a family vacation to Rockland. My husband, being 100% Italian was very excited to find this seemingly perfect place, at least from all of the reviews on line! We arrived on Tuesday evening at 7pm and found it was quite crowded. We were told there was an hour wait unless we wanted to eat in the "lounge." We jumped on the lounge seat and had our two sons sit at a lounge table next to us. (We were a party of 6.) The waitress brought over menus and water. We were intrigued by the menu, many authentic meals and appetizers are offered. When she returned she took our order and our sons order. The boys ordered a pizza. We ordered two spaghetti and meatball meals, Gnocchi, Pappardalle w/ meat sauce, one salad and one order of Bruschetta. Then waited patiently....and waited....and waited...this is one aspect where they're truly authentic to Italy! We literally sat there for an hour before asking about at least our bruschetta and salad? I mean...how long does it take to make either? The waitress said it should be out 'soon.' While we waited this hour, the boys had several drinks AND finished their entire pizza and actually left before we even got a second drink (never were asked btw and never did.) Finally after an hour and 10 min we received the salad and bread, which we agreed, were both delicious but not worth the wait! Another 15 min passed, again we asked the waitress what the hold up was and were told curtly, it should be out any minute. We told her if wasn't out in 10 minutes we'll just pay for our appetizers and you can cancel our order." During THIS ENTIRE WAIT, our waitress never came over to ask us if we wanted a refill on our empty drinks nor did she even acknowledge how long we had been waiting or try to defuse the situation in the least. She just ignored us and left us sitting there waiting. A manager finally made an appearance when we told them we were leaving. She was very apologetic for the delay, stating the kitchen was backed up. We explained to her how the waitress could very well have defused the entire situation if she had just been honest and tried to keep us comfortable while we waited, which she did nothing of the sort. The manager told us the meal would be out in 4 minutes if we wanted to wait. We said we would wait but to box it up and we'd eat it at home by this point. We also asked if something could be done about our bill. She a accommodated our request by crediting each of our entrees, only charging us for the salad, bread and drinks. To say this was a very frustrating experience would be an understatement. We had such high hopes for this place. We're from CT, where there are plenty of options for Italian food and were excited to try something new here in Maine. Also, we have relatives in Italy and have visited several times. The food that evening was not a representation of what we've found in Italy. The spaghetti was under cooked, the gnocchi was dry and hard. The Pappardelle with meat sauce was, I will say, very delicious. I hear this is a fairly new restaurant and perhaps still working out some kinks. I certainly hope they can shorten their wait time and at the very least, hire a more experienced and thoughtful waitstaff. The food definitely has potential. read more

Nice bar sheek design trendy, "retro" drink menu, had the "A" Negroni cocktail boasting fresh press grapefruit poured from store n pour container. Nothing impressive. Nice Italian wine selection and Motelvini prosecco on tap. $8-$12 Decent Micro brew selection. $6-$8 Menu of pasta, salad, pizza and small bites Ordered both the chop salad and panzanella salad, panza consisted of 2 cherry tomatoes 5 pieces of mozzarella, and 8 rock hard chunks of focaccia that had to be picked up not able to manage on a fork, and a basil leaf both $11. Would pass on the panza salad. Ordered the Ragu ..fresh tagliatelle pasta cooked aldente in a classic 4 meat bolognese...would order again $15 Very noisy if your expecting a quiet dinner, however, a lively but nice crowd of bar goers. Wouldn't rule out a second try since just newly opened. Will wait a few weeks. read more

Really happy to have Ada's Kitchen in Rockland! They just opened Nov. 2, 2017, and have a few kinks to iron out regarding consistent service, but menu of Italian style foods (pasta, pizza) are flavorful. My party of 3 visited during their Grand Opening week -- we ordered the Pickled Vegetables ($4) and Meatballs ($8). Note: menu lists 3 Meatballs, but we were served 2 Meatballs that included a piece of toasted bread. We also had 2 large Pizzas. If you're wanting to sample many dishes, I recommend the small Pizza, not Large. If you like your pizza spicy, ask for Red Chili Flakes on the side. For beverages, we sampled many Rose's but were not really satisfied with their offerings...too floral and sweet for our tastes which tend toward dry and earthy. I ended up choosing the Whaleback Cider. The layout is the same as the previous restaurant, 3 Crow. We sat in the "lounge" located to the rear of the bar and on the orange couch which was the most comfy of the seating in this area. read more

The food was wonderful. Authentic Italian food. The food was so fresh and delicious. Here I am thinking about it the next morning writing this review and dreaming of the meal I had the night before. This place is ridiculously good. Came in tonight to get a to-go order of the eggplant parmigiana, meatball appetizer, and the pappardelle al ragu. Best eggplant parmigiana I've ever had, served in neat little stacks with the perfect tiny amount of sauce. Each bite of that was amazing. The meatballs were ridiculous. The pappardelle al ragu was insanely good. If I had ANY feedback at all, it would be that it seemed like the pappardelle al ragu could have used more pasta water/starch to help bind the ragu a bit better to the pappardelle. This was a very minor thing, and it's likely just because it had a chance to steam off some of the moisture while in the to-go container. Or it's entirely incidental. Either way, it didn't stop my enjoyment of both the pasta and ragu - they were fantastic, and the little extra work to assemble it all into a nice bite on my fork wasn't a problem at all. :) Go here. You won't regret it. We're definitely coming back. read more

We were staying in Camden just after Labor Day and couldn't get near any of the better restaurants. We decided to take a ride and took a chance on Ada's Kitchen in Rockland. Wife has a dairy allergy. Was explained to the server (Chaia) who didn't offer any alternatives. My wife asked for them to just cook up the noodles and add olive oil and some arugula. When the pasta was served, it was completely bare. No oil. No garlic and no arugula. At the same time, my Napoli pizza was delivered, loaded with arugula. When we called he served back over, she said they would not add any arugula to the pasta. Completely unbending. Not willing to compromise and then argues with my wife about Sheep cheese being dairy. Nice enough place. Food is decent, but the help makes or breaks it for the customer. read more
