My family and I tried Ada's last night for the first time and we had an absolutley amazing experience. The whole staff was very friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. Our server Matthew was the best waiter any of us have ever had. He was friendly, very pleasurable to talk to and seemed like he truly loved his job. On another note, the pizza was incredible. My cousin and I split a pizza and everything about it was great. I can't rave enough about Ada's. Make sure to stop by, you wont be disappointed. read more

Enjoyed the food and the vibe. Didn't like the new 3% surcharge - to tip the kitchen staff we were told. The owners should either raise their prices or add a sticker on the menu explaining the surcharge. The bar tender, Stacy, was amazing...worth the visit to sit at happy hour to enjoy the bar climate and superb drinks and conversation. The waiter was also stellar, great service and demeanor. The food was another matter. The differences between al dente and chewy is a fine line but their pasta was definitely on the chewy side. The commercial art hanging by our table looked like when the fat man of wafer thin mint Monty Python fame exploded. Also a safety hazard. The staff were scrubbing the stairs during the diner hour and rather than the sensible cleaning half the stair all the way up and down, she was soaping each stair all the way across, so if u needed to go up or down you had to step over it...good luck for short people, handicapped folks or folks with knee problems. Lack of common sense and safety on that. Cleaning the stairs better left to off hours. read more

Quality pizza and pasta in a great locally-owned establishment. Try the diavola pizza and the cacio e Pepe pasta.

The pesto gemelli was absolutely incredible. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the sauce and pecorino on top was great. The pesto pizza was also great, and the cocktails were amazing. Severs were all very kind and friendly and served us outside (at our request) even though the weather was bad. There was a very loud truck parked outside of the restaurant next door for a deep cleaning that was rather disturbing, but not Ada's fault. That restaurant should not be able to do that so early on a weeknight evening while other restaurants are open. Overall, we had a great experience and highly recommend Ada's. read more

What a wonderful experience! We're out of town and came here after a wedding because it was the only place open and it exceeded expectations. The vibe can only be describe as 'chic' and the whole experience made us wish we lived closer. The staff was so nice, we got an app at the begging and treat at the end on the House by the kindest people. Great selection for drinks at reasonable prices and the pizza was to die for! Really enjoyed this place. Lively, fun atmosphere with a nice bar scene and good vibes. The food was great all around. We had some salami antipasti, a salad and 2 pizzas and everything was tasty all around. The portions (especially of the pizza) were bigger than we expected and we left with leftovers for the next day. Service was on point and they had some good wines by the glass and the special beer I had was awesome. If this place were in a larger city, they would have to step up their game a bit (there were small things I thought could be improved) but for small town Maine, I don't think we could have found a better option, which is why I give it 5 stars. I'm only giving this place one star because of the manager. My family and I (family of 6) arrived to the restaurant alittle bit before 7. We proceed to sit in the "lounge" section. We ordered our food and drinks. Then proceeded to wait for an HOUR and 15 minutes before our APPETIZERS came out. The waitress never came to check up on us. Our drinks were never refilled and we only got one basket of bread. After giving them 20 more minutes we finally just canceled our meal. They didn't even give us silverware, we had to ask ourselves! The manager came and talked to us and took our main courses off the bill. The manager handled the situation very well considering the circumstances. If you looking for fast service this place is NOT it. Props to the manger but the service was horrible read more

Got take out sandwiches for dinner. I had the fresh mozzarella with pesto panini, husband had the meatball panini which said was ok and my daughter got the Italiano which she didn't even finish. They were on the smallish size for the price and came a small handful of terrible chips (flavor was off and they were soggy). Would not order from there again. Im from New York and should have known better than to get Italian food in Maine. LOL read more

Rockland surprised us in the number of great restaurants in the city. Still, over a three day stay, we visited Ada's twice. Good vibes, great bar and beer selection, and tasty food brought us back. Wow, really good Italian. Wife had traditional spaghetti and meatball with pomodoro sauce I had the Farfalle bologanese we ate it all... yummie. The pizza looks scrumptiious. Then it all went downhill. Tried to order tiramisu and cappuccino. Was told cappuccino milk does not froth for whatever reason (spoiled?) then was told tiramisu was fantastic, it was served in a cup, dried out and no coffee flavor or liquor. It sucked. Wife had Madagascar vanilla gelato, it was served as a scoop in a bowl with no biscotti or anything. Dessert ruined the experience. Go for the food, skip dessert. read more

I had the occasion to enjoy not one, but two meals at Ada's Kitchen over the recent Camden International Film Festival. What a treat! Our group likes to share when we go out, so ordered a number of items between four people, affording us the ability to sample so many of the tasty offerings. Over our two visits for dinner, we enjoyed Eggplant Parmigiana, a Caprese and Chopped salad, Pappardelle a Ragu, Spaghetti alla Carbonara, Ravioli del Giorno, Ada's Pasta (an exquisite bucatini dish), a solidly traditional favorite - Spaghetti and Meatballs and also the Funghi e Salsiccia pizza. Add some delicious wine, bread and olives to the mix and we had no real room for dessert either time, but managed to share the chocolate truffles (so worth it). Ada's, and its Italian chef, provided the kind of culinary experience we have had in Italy itself. How wonderful to be able to enjoy this level of Italian cooking in Rockland. Some of the reviews talk about portion sizes. We live overseas and did not blink an eye at the portions offered. Though not the typical overly large portions one commonly finds at restaurants throughout the US, we were well feed and completely satiated by what Ada's Kitchen delivered to our table. If you are looking to gain an extra meal at home from your dinner purchase you probably won't, but you will leave having had a wonderfully authentic Italian dining experience which will not require a doggie bag to claim its value. Had an excellent meal here before the covid outbreak. I had a pasta dish with a spicy, sausage and a green salad. Both were outstanding. Who would think plain greens could be so good. Was visiting from out of town and was recommended to go to Ada's by a few different people. We started with the meatball appetizer ( my husband never orders them out because he loves his moms), and it was so good, even he had to admit it!....the sauce really made them!!! We also shared the homemade pappardelle with Bolognese that was equally as delicious as well as the mushroom/sausage pizza, who's crust was perfectly crispy. We had a fantastic experience at Ada's kitchen. The service was great, with friendly greetings from the hostess and bartender, who waited on us as well. The atmosphere is clean and modern. Their draft beer selection was impressive, with several local craft beers on tap. We started with the focaccia bread and both had spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was delicious, with both sweetness and a bit of spice. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the bread and olive oil were as fresh as can be. We did a take out order, went to pick up and we were 10 min late and it still wasn't ready had to wait another 10 min had the focaccia and the mozzerella with pesto and one piece of focaccia with that. The mozzarella with pesto was tasty the focaccia was bland. For dinner we had the spaghetti with meatballs. Meatballs very flavorfuland salty pasta did not taste homemade and the sauce was massively salty salty salty could only eat 2-3 bites of the spaghetti. We had bought homemade burritos earlier in the day and ended up with eating those. Wont be making a second trip there.
