I have to say this place was very nice, but there were some things that need to be worked on for a five star review. It has a nice atmosphere and the employees are super nice and helpful and try to do everything possible to make it a lovely time. I had scheduled an Adara head to toe which is a mani pedi and facial. The pedicure was nice, but I am a short girl and so the seats were a bit uncomfortable (I am sure that is me and not the seats). The pedicurist did offer me extra pillows to put behind me and tried extra hard to come closer to me not to have me move closer to the edge of the seat so I thank her for that. The manicure was lovely, lasted pretty well, the manicurist was nice and was very pleasant to talk to. She had some tips about how to make my nails stronger which really worked! Now I must admit I am a facial snob, and I have sensitive skin. Like others have said there is very little discussion about your skin. The environment was relaxing, instead of walking out of the room while you sit under the steam the facialist gives you a foot massage. The oil issue I have is that there was a lot of oil used, and the next day my face was not happy at all. The other issue I had, which they apologized for but it still should be mentioned. I was drying from my lovely manicure before my facial when a woman walked in for a facial... now this place is very time only one facial room so while I only needed about five more minutes and I had to sit and wait about 20 minutes for the facial room to open up and be cleaned. If they new a person was going to be coming in for a facial maybe they should have changed the order of my services..... read more

Had a wonderful, relaxing experience last night. Bought a groupon deal for a facial and manicure. I had not heard of adara prior to the groupon deal but glad I found it. I had no trouble booking my services for the date I was looking for a few weeks out. The spa is small but cozy and tranquil. Both services were wonderful. Very relaxing and thorough. The heated table and comfy pillow for the facial almost put me to sleep--it was great!! Orginally, I only planned on going in for a haircut but Greg, the hairdresser, recommended that I dye my hair darker. I want to point out that he was not being forceful about making the sale. Adara is a cute little spa located right in Lewis Wharf. If you're driving, parking is a bit of an added expense, but there is a lot right at Lewis Wharf. I went in for a Collagen 90-II Facial with a Groupon. I had absolutely no trouble making an appointment via email. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and given a one page questionaire to fill out. When I was done, I was immediately brought to my facial room. My asthetitian had the hands of an angel, but I don't even think she told me her name. She asked me about 2 questions pre-facial and got right to work. Her face and neck massage was great, but she mainly worked without uttering a word. I like to be told what the asthetitian is doing so I understand what is going on my face and what it is supposed to do. About halfway through, she put a cutout on my face, covered it with water, crinkly paper and left the room for what felt like forever. She silently returned, gave me a quick foot massage (which was a nice bonus), removed the stuff from my face, applied some lotion and informed me I was done. My face does feel wonderfullly moisturized and the treatment was nice, but I'm not sure I would have been as happy if I had paid full price for that service. read more

I love this Spa! I got a manicure and facial from groupon, and will definitely come back to pay full price! Although its a little bit a small place and quiet as some people mentioned the quality of service is very high. Manicure- My nails came out flawless, she paid special attention to underside of my nails when painting (I like that) and it stayed on for about 5 days (a long time for me). She gave a nice shape, great massage and had a good selection of colors. Facial- Very through and non-damaging extractions that removed even my most stubborn blackheads. Nice relaxing massage with it. I received compliments on both my nails and glowing skin for a couple weeks after. They were accommodating of my schedule, easy to talk to, didn't push products and very professional. I would highly recommend that you give this place a try! read more

I've been here a couple of times. I bought the arasys treatment on groupon. I LOVE this place. I would reccomend it to anyone. The staff is wicked friendly. There are 2 people that do the arasys and they are both really nice, make you feel comfortable, and are great at keeping conversation. The arasys doesn't really hurt. It is basically a bunch of vibrations going through your body and they ask you what you can and cannot handle and would stop if you asked. but i wouldnt describe it has anything hurtful. it is a weird feeling and becomes a little intense, but if you can't handle a certain level, tell them and they will turn it down. don't expect to immediately be skinny. you need to have realistic expectations. this is going to HELP you lose weight, it isn't going to do all the work for you. So you will notice a subtle difference, i asked and they suggested to do it maybe 2 times a week to see better results, and it is good to be active as well because this just (again) helps you lose weight a little faster. if you are lazy and don't work out at all, then you might see results that day and then it won't last long because you aren't maintaining it. Do this if you just started working out and want a boost, or if you have been working out and you've plateaued and need a boost, or you just can't work out for a while and don't want to gain weight while your down. read more

I purchased a Groupon for Adara last year, but only just got around to using it. Unlike some other users, I was able to make my appointment on the first try; the only slot was at 8 am, but that was fine with me. My treatment began with a manicure and pedicure. The woman who did them was super nice and friendly. I wish there had been a slightly larger selection of colors, but I really liked the color that I chose, and the private pedicure room was nice. I then got a facial. I filled out a questionnaire about my skin type, and the facialist also asked me about any skin sensitivities, etc. before she began. I finished with a 60-minute Swedish massage, which was really relaxing. The technician was really nice and very understanding of the fact that I happen to be super ticklish. Overall, I had a really good experience here. The space was really nice (I liked the exposed brick and beams - it was a cool contrast to the tranquil spa atmosphere) and the women working were friendly and seemed to know what they were doing. I went here with my aunt for a facial and manicure after purchasing a groupon. Unlike the previous reviews, I did not find it to be too cramped or loud. At times I could here conversation in the reception area while I was getting my facial - and yes, it would've been nice to not here other people talking - however the facial I got felt great and the manicure was done well. The body wraps are very beneficial for people who are looking for a extra boost on top of the gym or any other physical training they may do. I'm in love with Adara Spa. I've been there a couple of times since it's grand opening for pedicures and an Arasys treatment. I love their little pedicure booths. The atmosphere is super relaxed and the owners and staff are great. I highly recommend the Arasys slimming system too. I'm getting married in October and, in addition to working out, I plan on getting a couple of Arasys treatments before the big day. My mom even wants to try a Perfector treatment! Adara SPA is awesome: I have been going there for almost 2 years and it started with me purchasing a Groupon for Arasys. The treatments is great: I am size 0-2 but I wanted to get my waist to be thinner. I am exercising on regular basis but it is really hard to target that area. Arasys was the only thing ( I have tried different treatments before) that helped. You have to do it 6-10 times but then you will definitely see the results. I am sorry to give this place an awful rating - but it is deserved in this instance. I made spa appts for myself and three girl friends who were flying into the city for my bachlorette party. I was very excited to try this place, and looked at Many others before making my decision. Less than a week before the apts I called to confirm my reservation. Good thing I did... the girl on the phone let me know that they may not be able to accomodate us anymore because the woman doing our apts was having child care issues... which is not my problem, or anything that I would have preferred to know. She told me that they would see if someone else could come in and accomodate us. Three days later I get a call letting me know - they can't find anyone and have to cancel our apts. I let them know how frustrated I was because at this point my bachelorette party was a couple days away - and I could not find a spa to accomodate our group all at the same time. They were very nice and apologetic on the phone, however this is no way to run a business. They ruined our spa day, which is now not happening at all, and I am very disappointed. I will not be scheduling any appointments in the future for fear of this happening again. read more

One of the few places in Boston that I want to return to! IN stark contrast to Chinatown spas which pretty much ravage your pores in the quest to degunk you, Lauren will gently extract what ails your face and leave you in peace on a heated treatment table (a weakness of mine...seriously why don't more spas have heated tables?!) after which , you will walk out with a better complexion. I also had a pedicure which left my toes sparkly and my feet relaxed. All in all, a sweet place, strong magazine selection, a bit out of the way, but close to the North End and thus, a great place to de-stress before a night out on the town. read more

I would not recommend this place. I bought a groupon as a good reason to give them a try as I work in the area and if all was good would have been a frequent customer. I made a spontaneous appointment late afternoon for the following day.(appointment was difficult to make in itself- they never answer the phone or call back messages). First thing in the am before 9am I found out I had to reschedule due to a work committment and left a message asking if they could offer some flexibility (later time, that afternoon or tomorrow etc). No call back. Not to mention when I booked the appointment they couldn't find a reservation to accomodate the whole groupon deal deal that I purchased (facial and manicure together) and had no resolution. I called them again and owner answered, she immediately jumped down my throat about the cancellation fee and couldn't have cared less about future booking etc. I understand needing to enforce rules around scheduling, but really, I didn't even make the appointment 24 hours prior...The proper approach would have been. Oh yes, we got your message I am so sorry, let me see what I can do for you. BTW, we have a cancellation policy, not sure if you are aware? Well we can let it slide this time, but please be aware for future bookings.. Nope, that isn't how it was handled.. Further Lauren was completely hostile, non sympathetic. I can't understand why they would bother participating in groupon like marketing campaign's if they are unwilling to treat new potentail customers with a better attitude. No Thank You Adara Spa. I bought the Groupon featuring Adara Spa last July... yet I haven't been able to use it. I have unsucessfully attempted to make an appointment for "Adara-Head-to-Toe" on roughly five different occassions yet the spa is always completely booked, and when I try to make an appointment for a date further our the receptionist acts flustered and doesn't understand what I'm saying... (I say rougly because I do not count the times that Ive called to have no one answer the phone...) I do understand that yes I am a working person so I need a later appointment- I am flexible though I could make it there by 3:30 ... but maybe the spa should understand that most people work during the day and have more staff on after "normal" working hours... So saldy I am giving my Groupon up to my brave sister who lives in the N. End. I'm hoping she will be able to squeeze herself into a time slot. Tisk Tisk on them. read more

I bought a package of 6 Arasys treatments before my Croatian beach vacation and went two times per week for 3 weeks. I was eating well and exercising but I swear the Arasys did help to improve the look of my legs and butt. I wish I did my stomach too but I think that may have been too intense in such a short period of time. The last week I also received two slimming wraps that helped my look overall. The owner, Lauren, was very nice and professional and always made me feel at ease. The atmosphere is very inviting and the location is great - although parking can be tough at times. They were not flexible about rescheduling my appointment and the owner was very very rude on the phone! I will never recommend anyone to go there and have already had my friends go to other places. I found Adara Spa from a Gilt City voucher and tried to go back a few times, but its really tricky to get an appointment after work or on weekends. My mom and I went to get facials here and luckily they had a 50% off promo for their anniversary which was awesome. For an "hour" (they are not an hour more like 45-50 minutes) Adara facial we paid $30 each which was a steal. The salon is quaint and clean! I've never had a facial so I don't have anything to compare it to but I definitely enjoyed it. All the products were great and the room where they do the facials is super relaxing- I could probably could sleep there all day. As a past review said- I wish the massage was a bit longer and I also found it a little odd the women left the room for an extended period of time. They perform the first part of the facial for about 25 minutes- she leaves a mask on your face and leaves the room for about 25 minutes- and she goes back to remove the mask with a warm towel and puts on a moisturizer. However, it wasn't the end of the world and for the price and the atmosphere here I will definitely be back. Also the staff was super friendly!! read more

This cozy spa in the North End is a hidden gem- both Amelia and Lauren are absolutely wonderful at what they do and are a pleasure to work with. My manicures and pedicures last WAY longer here than any other place I've gotten them done. Amelia takes her time with them and makes your feet feel like butter. It's also pretty much a guarantee that I'll fall asleep during the facials as well as Lauren does a great job at making you get relaxed and pampered. Awesome place and people! read more

This is a great place! People need to chill out !! When you go for a great deal (groupon or Buy with me ) you have to realize you won't be the only one trying to use it. My visit here was great!! I tried one of their special body treatments and got great results with 6 inches off hips and thighs. The owner did my treatment and she 's young and very personable .
