I live in the Frederick MD area and was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. This required me to purchase medical equipment for use at home. I chose Adams Medical Supply as it was in a convenient location for me. At first everything went well and I was setup with everythhing I needed. However, vital parts of the equipment require replacement every six months, and this is where I began to have problems. I called to see about having my replacement equipment sent out and I was told that there would be a $50 charge. My first thought was that the equipment may be above what my insurance would cover so I decided to wait until I was in a more comfrotable position to depart with the $50. I called back approximately three weeks later and spoke to a different sales rep. She asked for my info, and then stated that my equiment was on its way. No $50 charge this time. Strange right? After three days time I still had not recieved my equipment so I called the store to find out what was going on. This time it was the rep who initially tried to charge me an additional $50. He stated his name and told me he halted the shipment because I wanted to talk to him about this specific equipment because that was his area of expertise. He told me that the parts I was currently using were no longer in stock and that I should try some of their new items. I was upset at this point that he did not contact me concerning these canges but rather waited for me to contact him. He asked me if I wanted to try the new items and if I wanted the items I was using he would have to try and order them. After using the new items I decided that they did not work as well as the old and again called the store to see about getting them replaced. This time the rep seemed indifferent to my concerns and told me to try and call back later in the week to see if he was able to locate the parts I requested. At this point I had had enough of his lackadasical attitude and I never called back. After being asked to pay a $50 fee, which seemed to be bogus as I was never asked to pay it again, having my order halted without a call or explanation as to why, and then finally being asked to call back again in order to find out whether or not he was able to locate the equipment I had reqested (which was displayed on other local medical supply websites) I came to the conclusion that service was not the main concern at Adams Medical Supply and I will not be using them again, let alone recommending them to anyone else. read more
