I've been here twice now. The first time was for an event (perhaps fundraiser? I'm not sure as I didn't purchase the required in advance tickets) where dinner options were Portuguese steak or baked stuffed lobster. What I find really odd about this is that ticket cost was the same regardless of what you ordered. I don't care for lobster so I assumed that I would get some type of upgrade that would make the steak option comparable in cost but that didn't occur. So to be it makes me wonder how logical the manager/owner is based on something as simple as this oddity. Let me start at the beginning. This particular area can be a little tough to find parking in as you'll have to park on the street. But I'm familiar with this area so I'm used to it but for anyone that's not from here I figure this will be helpful info. As you walk in, the place has a cool tiled wall with their name on it. Makes for some nice picture opportunities.... but there is a weird smell. It's like the cheap bathroom air freshener smell. That's the best way I can describe it. And I have a poor sense of smell so for me to notice it, it must be overwhelming for others. There's also a strange window front placement of chairs in the display window that doesn't make much sense to me. I guess if you want to pretend to be a window mannequin it would be fun. You have the option to walk in the restaurant on the left or bar on the right. For the event, we went into the restaurant area. For my second visit, we went to the bar on the right. The event had many attendees. There was the food and a DJ. The above mentioned steak was just OK. I wasn't wowed by it. The lobster appeared overcooked and dry but I didn't have any so I'm just basing this on appearance but it didn't look good at all. Servers were friendly and had no issue with any of the wait staff. The second visit was with two other people so I was able to take bites of their food. I ordered baked stuffed fish with rice, the others in my party ordered Portuguese steak and chicken Mozambique. The steak was cooked perfectly to how it was asked to be prepared but the taste was strange. Almost like it absorbed the taste of propane/gas used to cook it, if that makes sense. It wasn't prepared on a grill though so as to how that flavor came about is a mystery. The sauce for the steak was just OK. I wasn't impressed. The mashed potatoes that came with it were good. My fish was just OK. Nothing that I couldn't have made myself and for the price, I was hoping it would be a little better. It wasn't outrageously expensive but in Fall River you can get better for less. I don't mind paying more but make it worth my while. The chicken Mozambique was the table favorite and we enjoyed that. However.... again.... while I'm saying it was our favorite... it was just OK. We were the only ones there so it was a really slow night. I am used to waiting awhile for food as most Portuguese food takes a while to prepare. My largest complaint though and the reason why I wouldn't go back there again is that the soda is flat and gross tasting. We mentioned it to our server (who was also the bartender) and she said the owner came out to look at it and reported it was working. Perhaps they don't purchase Coke/Pepsi products and it's some no-name brand that tastes gross? I couldn't tell you but if soda makes or breaks you then this place remains broken..... read more

Any review over 1 star is someone working here. Service was horrible. We waited forever for the food, really it was ridiculous. Food was worse, gross Alfredo sauce, small crappy burgers, horrid salad with shrimp,that was very burnt, and clams that were good. $100! 3 burgers, 15 fries each and one with crappy onion rings, one app order clams, kids pasta, fettuccine Alfredo, ceased,salad with shrimp and 6 fountain sodas. I really wanted this place to be great. This area needed this. The waitresses were good but I will never return. Not even for,drinks and music. read more

A group of my friends and I decided to try out this place because their website had awesome reviews. It turns out to be all untrue. The place had the slowest service and the food was horrible. We waited 45 minutes for our food and they came back out twenty minutes after we ordered to tell us that they ran out of steaks. By the time I got my food, it looked like it was sitting out for awhile. My fettuccine was cold and tasted like cardboard. My friend's food was also horrible. We ended up just leaving. I saw a coupon for this new restaurant that opened up close to home and decided to try them on a thursday night. The lounge looked beautiful and they had some type of live band playing. It was nice, but I cant wait to go back when they actually have the piano going. As far as the service goes, it was good and relatively fast. My only complaint is that the food was nothing more than average. I was disappointed that the steak tips were a little overcooked & not very tender, and my mashed potatoes were bland. However, my veggies were cooked perfectly and the shrimp mozambique was delicious. I will visit again as the atmosphere was really nice and I'll try different items on the menu. Great new spot in downtown Fall River. Right next to two other decent restaurants we have tried, but a bit more upscale as it has a piano lounge and jazz/blues entertainers a few nights during the week. Great food, small menu but every thing we tried was excellent. I had steak tips, smothered and cooked to perfection. The fries are REAL potatoes, not the Mcfries some places serve. My companion had the Portuguese steak , which is on just about every restaurant menu in the city, but he claimed it was the best he has had here. Simon, the owner and host that night, was very gracious and attentive. We will definitely go back to listen to some music and try some other menu options. they also do a dinner for two special for $ 29 Sunday nights which includes a bottle of house wine. read more

Great band and fun atmosphere is where it stops!!! Drinks were over priced and made wrong. Food was poor. Over cooked steaks, over salted chicken,shrimp scampi was taste less, Mozambique with white minute rice, Really!!! Wife and I wish we had found somewhere else. We were happy to be out of the house, but the evening was a disappointment. Let me explain: The Bad: - We were made to wait almost an hour for our entrees. - The waitstaff was slow and incompetent. I had to ask for a glass for my beer, and for plates for the rolls and butter they served our table. The waitress tried to serve the wrong food to our table, which belonged to a party that arrived and ordered after us. - My wife's chicken Alfredo tasted soft and microwaved, as if it had to be re-heated after it waited for my burger to be made. - The bar is not affordable - $9 for a martini and $10 for a cocktail seems excessive. I enjoyed my burger (glad I played it safe) and my Harpoon. My wife enjoyed a cotton candy martini. Friends have told us the live piano player was talented, it is a shame we missed him. My date and I visited on a Friday at 6pm several months ago. There was no live music. Worse, this didn't appear to be a piano lounge at all! There was a tacky high-gloss white piano in the back of the dining room on a stage-like area. This isn't a piano lounge, where one might expect a pianist near a bar in a lounge-like setting. We only stayed for drinks, and each of us ordered a vodka martini. When I asked the teen-looking bartender to chill the glasses (for she hadn't), she plopped some ice cubes in the glasses without water. And this was not a dry martini as requested. So, we had warm-ish over-vermouthed martinis in an empty restaurant with a high-gloss white piano in back. On a Friday evening. What a shame. I remember when the restaurant was under construction. A sign on the window advertised that they were looking for a cocktail pianist. Now, who opens a "piano lounge" without having the talent already lined up? The quality of the pianist can make or break a piano lounge, and it would seem that this would be imperative to the entire concept--even before construction begins. I enjoyed going to adagio because we had an excellent bartender Anna. We found out she no longer works there. She was basically the reason we went there. Food is average but her personality was amazing..so needless to say we won't be returning. The other bartenders aren't as receptive...and from my understanding she was let go by text...really. read more

I ordered edamame, which had a tasty soy-glaze and dipping dauce. They were cooked perfectly! My entree was the house (Adagio) Sirloin, with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli as my sides. I have been to just about every restaurant in the South Shore area, and Adagio's take on the Portuguese-styled sirloin was a little bit different from the usual recipe. The light gravy/au jus was tasty--with a balanced blend of garlic and spices. They also cooked it perfectly for me (medium-well). On a separate note, I like the decor, the dining room has decent accoustics, and I can envision the venue as musician-friendly. They should cater to the musicians to get them to play there! The owner was nice but the Wednesday night bartender was rude and when we told the owner he explained she had some family issues going on at home. Which I get but you don't make people wait 5 + minutes for a beer and then give them an attitude. read more

3/6/13...very nice inside, a bit cold, it was early yet, only my son and I in the place, about 5 pm,,friendly bartender/server, appetizers were mediocre at best, salmon was nice, good fries, took a while to get the food, but trying to pay my tab took longer than eating my meal did, had bought a limelight deal, but found paying over $43 for two appetizers and a salmon meal a little excessive, coupled with the frozen appetizers, left a sour taste in my mouth,,,,one doesn't usually mind paying for good food and service, so I will save my pennies and cont. trying other places...hope this helped read more

Wow I'm suppose to go here this Saturday 6/22/13 reading these reviews does not impress me and I haven't even stepped foot in the door. I hope management reads these and has improved the quality of food and drink and or even replaced some of the kitchen and bar staff. Will keep everyone posted. Go Bruins! read more
