I'd never been in here before last night, but had heard very good things about it, mainly regarding the burgers, so gave it a bash, and was very impressed. I'm slightly baffled as to how the previous reviewer could give it 1 star. I wasn't sure what I was expecting from the interior but whatever it was I was pleasantly surprised. It manages to feel informal but still like a proper restaurant, and had a nice buzz of the other customers and old Motown tunes on the playlist. The burgers were indeed very good even if I was slightly disappointed to see Ebot's chicken variant a lot bigger than my beef one. Tasted fantastic though, as did the crunchy fries, and they give you a little bottle of hot pepper sauce to drizzle on your meal which is smashing. It's not the cheapest, £23 is a pretty penny for 2 burgers and a couple of soft drinks, but there were a good few other things on the menu I liked the look of, so I'll likely be back before long. Also, their rib Tuesday offer looks fascinating. £13.95 for all the ribs you can eat, plus onion rings, corn cobs etc. You can't go wrong with that one.

Good American diner just off the High street in the Merchant city . Good bar and restaurant serving American classics . I had a goats cheese and beetroot salad with a side of fries . Aiden had Mac n cheese which was nicely presented and tasted great . Nice buzz about the place but would recommend booking on a Saturday night . The charming Frenchman , front of house went out of his way to find us a table and we were not pressurised to eat and run. Part of the buzz was due to the local festival being on , but we had a nice experience overall here.

My table is totally me!

It's now an Indian restaurant. Great menu and they even cook monkfish too. Looks smaller inside now.

It's a really nice place to sit with oak furniture and as we were there in the evening it was lit with candles which added to the nice relaxed atmosphere.

The wraps are well constructed and bites of flavor. The fajitas are also well executed and thoughtfully presented. The menu is a bit out there, but accessible to the open-minded.

I can only review as a bar as I ain't eaten here…read more.. As a bar it is decent, seems a bit rough about the edges in a dive bar type of way, but the clientele usually are ok and the atmosphere always seems pleasant enough. It's got a lot going on, In that there is a club down stairs, food is served upstairs and there is also a lot of focus on it just being a pub. I've been a good few times and it's usually mobbed. I think that's partly because there ain't any other decent pubs on queen street (that I can think of) and it means everyone heads here. In other areas it might not be my first destination, but where it is it ranks quite highly amongst the places I would stop for a pint if passing. Sometimes it even has some unusual bottles of craft beer hidden in the fridges which is always a good thing. Could be a three on anther street, but a better option on queen street, so I will go with a positive 4 stars.

If you're looking for some good tasty American food, there are many better places in Glasgow than…read moreAd Lib. I met a couple of friends here and I had fairly high expectations after hearing good reviews. The decor of the restaurant is nice - spacious and interesting art work on the walls. Sadly the rest of the experience didn't live up to these first impressions. The menu itself does offer a wide variety of dishes, catering for both carnivores and vegetarians. They also had a number of specials up on the board. I settled on the Louisiana chicken served with sweet potato mash and thyme gravy. The service was incredibly slow - it took about half an hour for any food to arrive and it transpired that we had been given the wrong dishes so we had another wait on top of that. My dish was very tasty - the chicken was juicy and the sweet potato mash was nice and smooth. However, I did feel the portion size was fairly small for the price. There was also an issue with my friend's dish - she ordered a sweet potato salad that arrived without any sweet potato. All in all I found my experience at Ad Lib fairly disappointing and I won't be rushing back.

U to the P to the D-A-T-EEE!…read more Yup, it's update time. And it is with great pity and sorry that Ad Lib loses a star from its City Centre branch. I was in here with colleagues not too long ago and I just felt my whole experience was a bit 'meh'. The place looks tired and 'meh', the staff looked tired, the food was decent but nothing to right home about. I feel as there is SO much good food out there in Glasgow right now, Ad Lib is really starting to lag behind, so until they sort it out its gonna be an overall meh from me I'm afraid.

Now it's a big decision to make when you're deciding where to go for your birthday breakfast…read more However every time I've seen a Roasters update on Instagram or Facebook I've said 'Yup, going there for my bday'. The bonus was also that they open at 8am which was perfect for me finishing after nightshift. Got parked no bother right outside (remember free parking on Sundays in the city centre!). Almost cried when we walked in and the waitress said there was no chef yet and she didn't know where he was. Took the brave decision to have a drink and wait on the chef coming (he did fairly soon after thank god!). Roasters are notorious for their freakshakes and being slightly peanut butter daft I just had to! It was so good moreso at 8.15am. It was somehow not too sickly and the peanut taste came over really well without being overpowering. I'd already decided I'd wanted pancakes so decided to go for the mix and match. The raspberry and white chocolate was by far my favourite - such a fab combo! I added banana to the Nutella pancakes which was definitely a good shout. The Oreo creme pancake was a big disappointment. It was so overly sickly with the whipped cream on top that I couldn't even stomach it. The portion sizes were unreal. The pancakes were bigger than my head!! I'm an absolute gannet and always polish my plate clean but I just couldn't. Probably only managed about half before I started feeling like a lie down! I cannot wait to come back and try some of their savoury options - the grilled cheeses look particularly good! Only one gripe is that it was freezing in there but that was probably a good idea considering I started getting sweats from the sugar overload.

I called in one morning just for a coffee to go as l had to be elsewhere not long after. There where no cakes on offer or snacks in view but hey they have only been here a day or two and I'm sure when they settle in they will have everything sorted and looking nice. Atmosphere It felt that this place is still a working progress and there are quite a few things that needed finishing of but l did like the colour scheme that was chosen, it did stand out. Food I did take a glance at the menu and glad that it's not me cooking as it looked like a lot of items and ingredients and that equals to a lot of faffing about especially in a small kitchen than keeping things basic they're rather fancy but l suppose you have to be different than the other competitors. I will be back soon and spot what has been changed.

Made the most of the 5pm offer for 2 courses for £11.95…read moreBooked the table through 5pm, restaurant was pretty empty when we got there but got busier. We ordered the jerk chicken starter and the chicken wings to start, both were really tasty and a great size for a starter. We then both had fish tacos for main course, considering these are £10.95 on the normal menu these were definitely worthy the money. The fish was perfectly cooked and came with the right amount of avocado on top. We also ordered a portion of fries to share, which where skinny chips, and agin really tasty. The deserts were an additional £3 extra and the cheesecake was definitely worth a try. The service was great and the girl left us to chat after desert before asking if we needed the bill. For the choice on the pre-theatre I would definitely go back and try the others!

Looking through the cocktail menu, THEY HAVE SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM. I'll definitely be coming back soon. As it was a really warm day (and I love ginger beer) I opted for a Shirley Temple mocktail which was so refreshing - exactly what I needed. Food wise, we ordered the Ultimate Sharing Platter which came with onion rings, stuffed potato skins, BBQ chicken wings and nachos, served with a selection of dips. Everything was cooked perfectly and we loved everything. Definitely no complaints. For £15.50, it is excellent value. Staff were friendly and really attentive, providing water for the table and making sure we were looked after. We had a look at the dessert menu (I was tempted by the Key Lime Pie) but we were so full from the platter we decided to give it a miss. Will definitely be back for cocktails soon!
