Difference is on how it is handled, communication is a must. Yes there we some issues but Matthew was diligent and took care of what was needed because we communicated. Acuity builders redid my kitchen , flooring and fireplace when i had a leak in my kitchen. I had to replace some damaged areas and then decided to do some small upgrades to my condo. Ken and his team were always a pleasure to work with. Gabby is pleasant and kind and she too was a joy. I had a small paining issue and when i talked to Gabby about it, i had a call from ken within 5 mins to schedule someone to come back and fix it to my liking. Terrible! Gabby from Acuity came out in December, said she would send me a quote that week but instead she just disappeared. After a month of me texting, vm, and trying to get a response, I finally called her boss. Within 10 minutes she then responds (where had she been the entire month I was leaving her messages) and says I have to get back in touch with the restoration company. I said they are done, I paid them, and my deductible with insurance is already satisfied. She then argues with me that "insurance never does that". Well, don't know what to tell you Gabby but thats what they did and my deductible is satisfied. I just need your quote that I have been asking for over a month. She then tells me I have to sign a contract before they will give me a quote. What??!! You want me to sign a contract and THEN you'll tell me how much it costs? What a scam. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Acuity Builders. read more

Military friendly contractor, the project, my home was at Litchfield Park and I work at Tucson while 75% of the oversight and project communication was completed through Facetime, calls and texts due to me being 2 hrs away, and only home during the weekends to review progress. We were very fortunate to have Acuity Builders handle the reconstruction of our condo after water damage. Ken, Gabby and his team were incredibly responsive and professional. They did a fantastic high quality job with everything (including cabinets, flooring, shelving and more). Nothing was done halfway and Ken was there almost every day to check in the progress of the work. Importantly, they were forced to coordinate with both our own insurance as well as that of our HOA and, despite the fact that it was an endless headache for all of us, he and his team saw it through. The demonstrated tremendous patience. And unlike many contractors, the price he gave us was what it cost! He was very transparent with cost of everything and because of this, we actually asked him to do some additional work for us outside the scope of the water damage. We had a very positive experience with Acuity Builders and Construction. We had major water damage on two floors of our house. We hired one company to do the water damage mitigation and then based on recommendations and interviews, we contracted with Acuity to do the restoration and along with some additional renovations. Gabby was very professional estimating this complex project and did a masterful job working with the insurance company adjuster to get the full estimate approved. To get this work done we then had to vacate our house and have a complete pack out and pack in. Ken Hawk managed the project and his estimate of 11 weeks to complete the project was spot on. Ken's relationship to his reliable local suppliers, workmen, and subcontractors made this possible. We learned how critical timely two-way communication is in this process and Ken proved to be an excellent communicator. He was also exacting in the quality of the work being done. In his regular inspection walkthroughs with us he would note needed tweaks in the work and make sure these got done to his and our satisfaction. His cost estimates of additional work we wanted him to do were reasonable and he stood by his estimates. Ken has honored his two-year warranty on his work and has corrected two small issues promptly to our satisfaction. A year later we look back and consider ourselves very fortunate to have chosen Acuity. We strongly recommend them. read more

Acuity came out to look at my project, however they refuse to give any sort of estimate without a signed contract. Which was not disclosed at any point in time when scheduling or meeting. So not only does it seem suspicious that they won't give me a price before locking me in, but clearly they don't mind wasting both your time and theirs. Clearly they are busy enough they don't need the work, and could care less about potential customers. Strongly do NOT recommend. read more

Had to have my floors replaced, amongst other things, after a pipe burst in my home. The job was done horribly. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit my home while the construction was taking placed to call out all the short cuts that were being taken. It took about three months for the project to be completed. However, I had to call them back to fix the floating floor; there were about seven soft spots. Even after coming back to "fix" the floors I could still feel the spaces where they didn't put self leveling, causing the floor to uneven and soft a variety of spots. The manger was extremely nice and responsive but at the end of the day the work was terrible.As a result, I'm going to have to come out of pocket to get my floors fix because its clear that they won't get it right. Nice guys but will NOT use again! read more

Hello, AVOID this company! As a former customer, I suffered the following: extended and extended deadlines, remodeling and installing wrong material and appliances. Some of which remained bcuz I wanted to end project and other returned causing additional delays and stress. Note these were only a few of the multiple and disasters we suffered with Acuity Bulders. Expect to be the project manager if you golet them. Because of the consistent mishaps initially, I had to keep a family member onsite to make sure things were getting done correctly. This is not just a disgruntled customer but very disappointed person and highly recommend go elsewhere. Best of luck with with your project. read more
