Hello all, I'm a loyal Acts supporter. I shop here every chance I get. They have the best deals in town, and if you are smart and use all of their offers, you end up spending pennies on the dollar. I have never had any items that did not work after Taking them home ,Everything worked. I suggest buying the Yelp deal- 20$ for 30$. Buy the voucher on Yelp the use it on a Thursday or Saturday-on those days it's30-40% off on your total purchase!! I highly recommend this deal. Let me say also that All the staff is welcoming, happy and helpful. Giovanni,Cam -the most petite lady you ever met,Destiny, and Stef and the Volunteers sometimes even other customers! It's like family. And making sure the whole machine works like a finely tuned Ferrari is Amira the Director. She is knowledgeable and gracious, Amira like everyone at Acts is friendly, approachable, and has a memory like no other person I know. Not the same since they relocated to a newer and much smaller location. The original ACTS used to have a large selection of used furniture and it looks like now they only offer the occasional wall ornaments, kitchen ware and clothes. While they still have great sales, I was not too impressed and kind of let down. Overall, probably will not be going back anymore. read more

My nephew and I went inside just to look at the stuff they had. Right away I picked up a bad vibe as soon as we walked in the door. I was being followed by an old white lady who's been asking if I needed anything. I said no just looking. Again not even five minutes after she comes back to me and ask again. I completely ignore them for the time being as my nephew was looking at their clothes. Keep in mind my nephew is lighter than I am. They haven't harass him one bit. But since I don't look like them they automatically assume I'm the bad guy. The rest of the time we were looking the employees wouldn't keep eyes off me just starring at my every move. I felt like a criminal and it was such a hassle. Thank God I don't need anything from them not being rude just telling my truth. Not going back. read more

I would have gave 5 stars but they have relocated to a new location and it is SOOOOO SMALLL ! :( I was still able to find some goodies at a great price ofcourse. Checked in through Yelp and got 20% off my purchase. Excluding the tag of the week sale items which where automatically 50% off. Plus got coupons attached to my receipt for next visit. Looks big from the picture but when I arrived it was pretty small! But still bigger than a lot of thrift stores. We came to look for any cameras they might have but sadly, they only had two. They had a lot of film camera filters for you film lovers! It was all pink label and lucky for us, pink was the 50% off tag this week! woo! So we got it for ~$2. I saw some sweaters I really digged but boyfriend said it was too hot to buy sweaters. 100% regretting it now because the other thrift stores we went to afterwards didnt really have a large selection of sweaters. Really bummed-out! The old BIG Pasadena location was the BOMB! with its good parking, and LARGE furniture selection, so much, that they had a discount "corral" at the front door. New location: zero furniture (though, a large Pomona store is promised, who wants to go-out that far? Maybe, County Fair day?) limited men's stuff. (I bought a sport-coat, tailor-made for Frank Sinatra, for $7.95, at the old store!, honestly don't know how it got in there!) I don't think I'll be coming back to this Altadena location, terrible parking, and outside my PTL: Pasadena Thrift Loop: try it! Starting near Old Town: Salvation Army (don't forget the Collectible boutique) Good Will, Out of the Closet, near PCC, Assistance League, on the East side. If you're considering donating - don't waste your time giving to this company. I dialed the number printed on their pick up bag (left by them in my yard) & made several attempts to GIVE valuable items and the person answering the phone passed me off and when no one was there to take my call I was asked to call back. Given this was my second attempt at doing just that, I gave the option to call me back and was told to take my donation to goodwill instead. Done! read more

I try to visit once a week PROS: - Every Saturday morning 30% off - Repeat shopper 30% off on 6th visit I think-- punch card - Coupons - organized by gender and by size not just by color - good selection of books roughly organized by topic - clean - good selection of videos (mostly VHS) - good prices (although they seem to be raising prices lately) - great selection of furnishings - lots of trinkets (dishes, paintings, BOOKS, jewelry, sunglasses) - Pretty good parking - Takes credit/debit card - Supports many charities , one of which allows homeless families and kids who are homeless to go on a shopping spree of what they need, I had a few homeless students who benefited from this CONs: - boutique area needs more staffing. . . have to bug someone just to look at something in the "nice stuff" area - only two dressing rooms - not a lot of clothing selection, but some amazing gems - They could do well to expand to a larger place - Need more friendly staff read more

This place is great. Some parts smell, but I don't care. It organized. It has really weird stuff. and I love it! I was able to find the Ninth Doctor's (from Doctor Who) leather jacket (just need to adjust the size and add a backing) and a Tim Burton-equse jacket for my fiance for a party. All of that for about $20. Win. The leather Ninth Doctor Jacket was $14.99 and the Tim Burton one was $5.99. Whaaaa... I found some weird fun pants but I didnt buy it. Also found furry vests and just clothes you CAN make into a costume. Win. I really liked the store and the staff. I got a juicer and a food processor and I thought it was an amazing deal/find. I asked the staff if they were working and if they tested them before displaying them for sale and they said yes, it is working. When I got home, I was all excited about my new purchases and when I went to use them... None of them worked! Are you serious? I asked them to make sure. When I called the store and explained the problem, the woman told me they wouldn't exchange my product nor return my money because it is they policy. UPSET! read more

One of the better thrift stores I've been to - it's very well organized and they offer some really good incentives to keep you coming back. All items are tagged with different colors, and a different color is on sale each week. There are other weekly specials as well, and they give you coupons with your receipt off your next purchase. It definitely gets you in the cycle of coming again and again! I've mostly bought plates and other kitchen items here, but across the board there are some good finds whether it be clothing or some collectors items. They have a wide selection of furniture and some more valuable items behind the counter. Some thrift stores are mostly junk, but ACTS really does have some treasures! read more

I really like this store. =) They have ... lots of furniture (even saw school chairs!! though on second thought, wth are school chairs doing here?? ) lots of houseware (dining sets, paintings, games, books, videos..) lots of accessories (purses, necklaces, scarfs, gloves) lots of sporting stuff (skis, golf clubs, boards, skates, balls. ) There are 2 dressing rooms. Functional but not too pretty...but who cares!! =P I bought a pair of adias shoes for $5... near perfect condition. ~.^ Some of their clothes are $1-$5 .. but they didn't seem to carry as much stuff as Goodwill. Shoes are priced around $5. For furniture .. we did see love seats for $30, end tables for $10, microfiber chaise / sectional combo for $99, school chairs for $10 .. list goes on and on. Some of their stuff is new and they mark it if it is. ... Right now they have a 50% off sale on certain items. Usually my entire outfit (including shoes) costs less than $20.. so this place definitely fits the bill!!! I make hand me downs work for me. The selection was great, it was reasonably clean inside, and I managed to find a few awesome deals. When it comes to what's actually inside the store, it's great. I'm a total thrift store snob and was pretty excited about finding this place. I bought a yelp deal while on my way to the store on my app thus didn't have a chance to print out a paper coupon, something that I've never had issue with at any other establishment anyway. When I went to buy my stuff though I was made to wait for a manager to help me, which just getting to talk to her wound up taking almost 20 minutes. Then, after getting a dirty look and a few questions of why I didn't have my coupon printed out, it took her another 15 minutes to locate and go thru a messy clipboard filled with other customer's printed coupons where she went thru every single one to make sure my coupon hasn't been used before. Finally, nearly 45 minutes after I first got into the checkout line, I was out the door. Just to find that someone in the parking lot had managed to back into the side of my car while I was inside, scraping up the side, and no note to be found. So in summary, A) don't try to use a coupon unless it's printed; B) don't try to use said coupon unless you have some time to spare and reaaaaally want $5 off; C) make sure you park on the street as far away from that horrid parking lot as possible. I love ACTS Thrift Store. It's on my way back home from work, and I like to stop in to see what's new. The employees are very nice and the mission of this store/organization/everything is easy to get behind. The prices are very fair and the selection is wide. Of course, I don't always leave the store with a purchase but that might be a good thing for my wallet. My favorite sections are the dresses for women and the jewelry. Chances are - you won't find diamonds or gold, but I love the random quirky pieces of jewelry that I do find. I like their dresses simply because their prices are low and the quality is generally pretty good. This store even has on-going promotions and sales. If you're a student with valid ID, I believe they offer you 10% which can really add up. Every day there will be a tag color that is 50% - super awesome! I found a cute epi leather doctor's bag for only $5.99, and that was full price! I look forward to shopping here, and I hope more people will give this place a try too. The best place ever! I love ACTS. I go every Saturday morning for the early bird special from 10 a.m. -12. You get 30% off! They also have 50% off of different color tags everyday. I haven't been lucky enough to get the right color on the items I want to buy..... but 30% is good. I like that the racks are sized. I go right to my size and buy what I am looking for. I've recently lost 60 pounds and ACTS has helped me create an AWESOME wardrobe at affordable prices! My Favorite place! read more

My immediate impression of this place was that it was quite LARGE and very ORGANISED. Quite a good first impression! They have their own parking lot, which is always a plus. The majority of the store is dedicated to clothes, and they also have sections for electronics, VHS, books, games, cups/glasses, plates, jewelry, shoes, furniture, etc. Like I said, they are very well organised. I didn't really look at their prices, but they do choose one tag colour every week to get 50% off, which is pretty cool. I was here to look specifically for tea cups for a English tea party-themed bridal shower I'm hosting, and I was unfortunately unable to find any. But now I know what kind of items they carry, so I'll definitely be back when I need to purchase anything in those categories! Giving this place 3 stars because even though I had a good impression, I couldn't find what I needed! And I also didn't really take a look at their prices so I have no comment there. read more

Pretty decent! I purchased a vintage pair of nine west mini-heeled shoes from here for about $7.50! They were practically brand new. The soles were not worn out at all. if you have a student i.d. use it here because you get like 15% discount. The only thing that sucked was that I left my 2 rings in the dressing room and found out 5 minutes later. But by that time it was already gone. It was my fault, but I did find out that another customer saw a woman walk out holding 2 rings from the stall I was in, but she did not return it to the people working at that time. Oh well...They weren't worth that much, but they had sentimental value. Just FYI keep your valuables to yourself! Don't forget them in the changing room like me ;(! read more

I decided to stop by here because my school donated stuff here, but after visiting, realized I'm just not fit for shopping for clothes at thrift stores :( Nevertheless, I think the Thrift store is extremely organized, and there is a great selection of books! Like other reviewers have already said, the sections are organized by sex, size, and types of clothes. I think the sizes are organized by what it says on the tag though, since some "smalls" are huge, while some of the "larges" are tiny. I also like the little jewelry/bead section - there are little bags of beads for $0.99! Totally worth it for those of you who sell jewelry =) read more

This has got to be one of the best thrift stores i've gone to. The place is a decent size, well organized, and very clean. The prices are such a bargain, and they have a weekly discount on certain tags (50% off on the color of the week tag). Also, alot of the items are brand new with the original tags attached. AAAAND there are a lot of Brand Names (i.e. Banana Republic, Chanel, Ann Taylor, Gucci, to name a few). But then again, what do you expect? Pasadena area is filled with trendsetters and moneymakers! Today I bought all of this for $24: -a big, red velvet tote w/ three zipper compartments (AWESOME for work so i can fit my accordian file, clipfolia, planner, laptop, wallet, lunch, and even enough room for clothes) and leather straps -Brand new Shiek bronze&gold sandals -cuuuute Gold vintage peep toe heels -Houndstooth cropped blazer -The Lion King edition circa 1994 watch i'm coming here WEEKLY to see their new stuff! i'm going back for the bags, they had such cuuuute purses. their jewelry were cute too! i used to thrift a lot before. then it got old, i didn't have the patience to go through everything. EXCELLENT selection of baby/toddler clothes!!! They have some good shirts too, if you look. Some of the stuff is brand new. I found a Juicy couture sweater top for only 5 bucks!! Every week they have a different color that's 50% off. I think the store is well organized. Too much furniture though! No wonder they keep some outside! Go check it out! I LOVE THIS PLACE! Everything is so cheap! It is definitely worth to go to. They have a weekly deal of whatever is the color of the week is 50% off. My total came out to around $57 however i only paid $30! What a steal! A few of my items were 50% off because they had the color of the week tags. I had bought a $20 for $30 voucher from Groupon (PRO TIP) that really helped me save money. I got shirts for as cheap as $1! Unbelievable! & a couple of my favorite finds was a pretty cool red windbreaker and something that is really in this year, some maroon thigh high boots! Rows and Rows of men's clothing. A quick glance at suits I saw a few nice Hickey Freeman suits in 42L and larger. As a 40 or 40L, I left them for another bargain hunter. I believe here the suit was only $25. Very affordable. The tags on jackets and suits are often labeled with only the approximate size so it's best to go to the fitting rooms, located at the other side of the store next to the main counter. One downside is that men's shirts are all jumbled together on hangars, not really organized by size or separated by long and short sleeve. Deals are to be had there for people who work at it. Vinyl LP collection- a good selection, and turnover is rapid. $1 each. Found some nice Erroll Garner records the last time I was there. Today, nothing of note. Behind the counter, there are gems that one can inquire about. A rare Olympia secretarial typewriter is there for $60. Since I already have two manual typewriters, I left this also for another bargain hunter. read more

This is the best thrift store I have ever gone to. Officially named the All-Out-Caring Thrift Store, the initials spell the acronym name ACTS. The name reflects the biblical Book of Acts, in which Luke describes kind Christian deeds of Early Church ministry. This non-profit's vision is to operate in a similar caring manner, assisting needy individuals and families in the local area. On top of this noble endeavor, I was also impressed by the high quality of the items for sale. By all means, spend some money here, or donate some items. It's a great experience. read more

Found this place while driving down Hill Ave on my way to lunch and just happen to see this place. My fiance and I are big fans of thrift shops and so I was really excited to come check this place out after lunch. This place has a small to medium sized lot out for you to park in, or you can try parking on the street since I can see why the parking spots would fill up quickly. Right outside of this place are all kinds of different furniture (tables, chairs, etc). There is a nice spread of clothes and a ton of cheap books, house ware items and such. Lucky for me I was able to find some glass vases between $0.69- $0.99 (I am currently looking for short glass vases for my wedding centerpieces). Overall, the prices here are definitely priced lower than Goodwill and Salvation Army. You can come on certain days for discounts as one yelper mentioned and you can also join their club reward card (sign up on the computer near the register in the front of the store) and you will get a punch card and a coupon for your next purchase (on clothes is what I received, but I think the coupon will vary depending on when you go and sign up). The employees who work here were very nice. One employee who was stalking the shelves overhead my fiance and I talking about how many inches we think some of these vases we saw were. This employee asked if we needed a ruler and after we said yes if he has one, he stopped what he was doing and went to get us a measuring tape. After we were done with it, we gave it back to him and he stopped what he was doing and went to go put it away. Honestly, that's really nice of him and he went above and beyond. The cashier I went to was also very nice in explaining to me how the club reward card worked and walked me over to the computer to sign up. I love that this thrift shop does not have that distinct thrift shop odor. You know what that odor smells like... hard to completely explain, but familiar and understanding on what I am talking about once you have been in a thrift shop that has that scent. This place is clean and does not have clothes all over the floor like other stores I have been to. Things are generally pretty neat and nicely categorized. I also love the lower pricing here (yes as I have mentioned above, but just wanted to mention it again). I will definitely be back here. read more

I went to this thrift store to get a last minute costume with a friend of mine a few days ago. Not only were the prices great, but they had a huge selection of odd and interesting things! We found everything we needed within half an hour or so and didn't spend an arm and a leg for them! When I'm in the midst of a de-clutter mania, it helps to be able to get the stuff out of the house ASAP. You can make a pick-up appt online and they have a staff person who emails to confirm and follow up. Pick-up occurred as scheduled, with a receipt left for proof. I really loved this Thrift Store at its old location because it was bigger with more variety. The regular thrift store order is present and stuff is basically everywhere so when you come in expect to hung to find treasures. The parking lot is small as well as it is shared with a 7/11 and sometimes the parking lot is packed. I don't really do any shopping here anymore as the store is tiny and lacks variety so I typically just drop off donations here whenever I clean out my stuff every few months or so. There are no after hours drop off anymore they should definitely work on putting one of those large bins out as they had before so people can drop off the merchandise without have to hassle and go inside. read more
